This study aims to conduct a descriptive analysis and evaluation of graduate theses regarding decision support systems carried out between 1989 and 2020 in Turkey. The qualitative research ...methodology was applied, the theses were analyzed through the descriptive content analysis technique. Forty-eight graduate studies accessible from the national thesis center database of YÖK were included in the analysis. The theses were coded according to the date of publication, university, institute, department, degree level, the academic title of the thesis supervisor, thesis language, research methodology, research sub-areas. Graduate studies on DSS have increased in the last 15 years, and 42 studies have been conducted in the last 15 years. Selçuk University ranks first with the most studies on DSS. Half of the studies were carried out in the Institute of Science, and most of the studies that were produced in the universities were master's theses. Most supervisors were "Prof. Dr." titled faculty members. Most of the theses were written in Turkish, and primarily experimental studies were conducted. The business administration department produced most of the theses on DSS. Business and environment studies were the primary disciplines that produced theses. These were carried out in 7 institutes and 26 different departments. The findings of this study will guide other researchers who are willing to work in the decision support systems field.
The Research and Practice Committee of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) has sponsored the research poster session at each annual conference for the past 23 years. The studies represented ...in the following abstracts were presented at the 2019 Research and Thesis Poster Session of the 53rd Annual ADTA conference in Salt Lake City, Utah and feature a wide range of scholarly works in current dance/movement therapy research. The following sixteen studies have been selected for their quality and contributions to dance/movement therapy literature.
More recently, in social sciences, especially in pedagogy, different research experiences imply different research styles and philosophical approaches that need to be known before conducting research. This paper gives an overview of different research approaches and scientific paradigms within which it is possible to create and direct a personal research project (or research). The aim and purpose of the paper is to explore various research approaches and methodological frameworks that are reflected in the representation of certain scientific paradigms, the presence of qualitative and quantitative methodology and various research techniques used by future teachers in their research. For this reason, 159 graduate theses of students of teacher study, which were publicly defended from January 2015 to December 2017, were explored. Insight into students’ graduate theses gives the following results: out of the total number of graduate papers (159), 132 (83%) has a research part. Furthermore, the scientific field predominantly used in the research is social science (36.47%), and within it the field of pedagogy (46.55%). According to the type of research, dominant are empirical, fundamental, transversal and research of the present. Of all the research paradigms investigated, the most prominent is the positivist (60.6%), and then the constructivist (17.43%) and post-positivist (15.91%) paradigm. Applied research dominate (78%), while development research (5%) is still insufficiently represented and recognized by students.
We evaluated titles and abstracts of 372 marine biology master's theses to identify the marine taxa researched by graduate students at our institution. Of 191 species investigated since 1976, the 15 ...most-researched species are regionally important and have each been researched at least five times. Fisher exact tests identified taxa demonstrating statistically significant recent growth in research. A collection analysis of monographs about these species and taxa compared to four peer institutions highlighted strengths and weaknesses within our marine biology collection. This investigation demonstrates how taxonomic data in titles and abstracts can serve as a tool to guide biology collection development.
We analyzed serial citations in 72 marine biology master's theses as well as the ranking data of aquatic science serials from six global serial citation metrics, to assess serial use by marine ...biology graduate students from two perspectives. From 1,035 unique serials, a core of 123 titles was identified and evaluated for access. Citation ages averaged 13.5 years, with 27% of serial citations dated prior to 1996. Students cited serials from disciplines beyond marine biology, demonstrating broad title dispersion compared to several other studies. Recommendations are offered for future investigation to develop a stronger understanding of graduate students' use of the library's serial collection.

In this study, 168 postgraduate theses in the field of writing education in Turkey were evaluated in different perspectives. Detected theses have been coded by the triple coding method in terms of ...types, years, universities, target groups and subjects. According to the results of research, 62.5% of theses were concluded between 2006 and 2010. 81% of theses are master and 19% of it is doctoral theses. Theses mostly intended to determine writing skills of primary and secondary students. In most theses, student's texts are evaluated as superficial or with formal qualifications. Theses in this area are centered on specific universities.
Academic studies related to teaching mother tongue in Turkey started in 1990s and picked up after 2000s. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the post-graduate theses in the field of reading ...education written between the years of 1981-2010 with an integrated view. In the study, the scan with 76 concepts related to reading education was performed in National Thesis Centre. 239 theses, which were determined after the scanning process, were encoded with ternary encoding method.
At the present time, the generation of knowledge in Latin America includes a large number of studies in the field of social science and the humanities, but a reduced number of studies designed to ...research the scientific production of distance education and virtual learning environments (VLE). The objective of this article is to present the state of knowledge of education mediated by VLE in the 2001-2010 period, by analyzing undergraduate and graduate theses published during this period. In addition, a presentation is made of a possible alternative for facilitating registration and access to the content of the sources of information identified in the past decade. PUBLICATION ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to examine the teacher's role as a "mediator" in helping students write their graduate theses. Sawamoto confirmed that the teacher played the mediator role in primary ...writing classes by applying the reflection method. Building on this study, the current research developed both the curriculum and teaching method for university undergraduate students' writing their graduate theses. This research proves that the teacher played a role of "mediator" in her teaching both university level and primary level. This research applied the reflection method proposed by Sawamoto et al., Sawamoto and Nakamura and Polanyi.
