The program can be used to guide the emergency disengagement process of the unloading arm in case it can work safely on the LNG terminal in the actual project. This paper provides a design basis for promoting the domestic development of LNG unloading arm.

It allows the determination of the key input parameters of an output of interest. The results are based on a probability density function (PDF) provided for the input parameters. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) methods are used in photovoltaic (PV) systems to continually maximize the PV array output power which generally depends on solar radiation and cell temperature. ...MPPT methods can be roughly classified into two categories: there are conventional methods, like the Perturbation and Observation (P&O) method and the Incremental Conductance (IncCond) method and advanced methods, such as, fuzzy logic (FL) based MPPT method. This paper presents a survey of these methods in order to analyze, simulate, and evaluate a PV power supply system under varying meteorological conditions. Simulation results, obtained using MATLAB/Simulink, show that static and dynamic performances of fuzzy MPPT controller are better than those of conventional techniques based controller.
We introduce MagAnalyst, a user-friendly Matlab toolbox designed to streamline the fitting process of anhysteretic magnetization curves using the Langevin-Weiss equation of state. Built upon the ...framework proposed by Silveyra and Conde Garrido, our toolbox facilitates the description of magnetically anisotropic materials through negative molecular fields, and of magnetically inhomogeneous materials through multicomponent magnetizations. This study showcases the reliability and accuracy of MagAnalyst, enabling the direct extraction of key parameters such as the anisotropy mean field and the induced anisotropy energy constant. By making this toolbox freely available at https://github.com/matias-gonz/maganalyst/, we aim to provide a valuable tool for comprehending the magnetic properties of soft magnets, thereby contributing to the development of cutting-edge magnetic devices.
In recent years the educationally focused parts of the global control community have given some focus to what constitutes a sensible first course in control (Rossiter et al., 2020) and how to support ...this with high quality learning and teaching resources. This paper contributes to that overall effort in that it provides an example of high quality, open-access resources to support students in their independent learning. One aspect of the ideal first course in control is the suggestion that we (the community) focus more on concepts and understanding and less on tedious paper and pen calculations; to do this the community needs suitable easy to use software for performing computations and producing illustrations. Hence the author is leading what he hopes will be a collaborative community project on creating a MATLAB toolbox to provide such software. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the toolbox, present its current contents and thus enable staff to evaluate and adopt this toolbox and moreover, to reflect on how it might be improved.

This paper proposes an efficient methodology for the simulation-based multi-objective optimization problems, which addresses important limitations for the optimization of the building energy performance. In this work, a mono- and multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm is coupled with EnergyPlus building energy simulation software to find a set of non-dominated solutions to enhance the building energy performance. To evaluate the capability and effectiveness of the approach, the developed method is applied to a single room model, and the effect of building architectural parameters including, the building orientation, the shading overhang specifications, the window size, and the glazing and the wall material properties on the building energy consumption are studied in four major climatic regions of Iran. In the optimization section, mono-criterion and multi-criteria optimization analyses of the annual cooling, heating, and lighting electricity consumption are examined to understand interactions between the objective functions and to minimize the annual total building energy demand. The achieved optimum solutions from the multi-objective optimization process are also reported as Pareto optimal fronts. Finally, the result of multi-criteria minimization is compared with the mono-criterion ones. The results of the triple-objective optimization problem point out that for our typical model, the annual cooling electricity decreases about 19.8–33.3%; while the annual heating and lighting ones increase 1.7–4.8% and 0.5–2.6%, respectively, in comparison to the baseline model for four diverse climatic regions of Iran. In addition, the optimum design leads to 1.6–11.3% diminution of the total annual building electricity demand. The proposed optimization method shows a powerful and useful tool that can save time while searching for the optimal solutions with conflicting objective functions; therefore facilitate decision making in early phases of a building design in order to enhance its energy efficiency.

This paper presents a compact and efficient 88-line MATLAB code for the parameterized level set method based topology optimization using radial basis functions (RBFs), which is applied to minimize ...the compliance of a two-dimensional linear elastic structure. This parameterized level set method using radial basis functions can maintain a relatively smooth level set function with an approximate re-initialization scheme during the optimization process. It also has less dependency on initial designs due to its capability in nucleation of new holes inside the material domain.
