In this paper, the author presents the results of a survey conducted electronically from the beginning of March to the end of May 2021 among students of nine high schools in Varaždin on their ...knowledge and attitudes about fascism and anti-fascism. The survey consisted of 20 questions, and the answers were given by 356 students. This paper does not bring critiques or suggestions of the history curriculum for high schools, but presents some of its results. Special attention was paid to the events marking the 80th anniversary of the persecution of Jews in Varaždin (1941-2021), which were held during July 2021.
This study examines how ideology is narrated in the life stories of former and active Swedish neo-Nazis. Employing a social psychological and generational perspective toward the meaning-making ...process of the neo-Nazi ideology, this study investigates the role ideology plays in both former and active adherents' narratives of engagement in the neo-Nazi movement. This study also analyzes the differences in how former and active neo-Nazis talk about violence and violent acts in the movement. In doing so, this study shows that there has been a decisive shift between activists from the skinhead era and post-skinhead era in respect to how they address and articulate ideological conviction and violence. Results also indicate that Sweden's neo-Nazi movement has undergone an intellectualization process over the past few decades, with violence becoming increasingly politicized.
The Ludwig group is usually described by the media as a group of serial killers operating in Italy during the so-called Years of Lead. The present article examines the structure and the nature of the ...group's language through a multidimensional approach to rediscuss its current classification and description. The source material of the analysis is represented by the handwritten leaflets released by the group to claim its actions. The collected material, comprised of seven leaflets released by the Ludwig group in 1980-1984, has been examined through the analysis of language register, syntactic and rhetorical structure, adopted lexicon and co-occurrences. According to the analysis of the group's language and messages it passed on, this paper suggests that the political nature of the Ludwig group receives its inspiration from Nazi ideology. The ideology that inspired the group's violent actions must be brought back to Nazi Ideology, especially to the ideas of what is generally known as Esoteric Nazism.
