Še v letošnjem šolskem letu je treba našim osnovnim in srednjim šolam zagotoviti okrog 2 tisoč hišnih računalnikov, kolikor jih najbolj nujno potrebujejo za osnovno računalniško izobraževanje; računalniška vzgoja mora postati sestavni del izobraževalnega programa sleherne šole, so med drugimi poudarili na seji izvršnega sveta Slovenije. Kako naj bo opremljena računalniška učilnica, pa so v okviru mednarodnega sejma elektronike, ki se je danes končal, prikazali v »Računalnici« v Cankarjevem domu.

Delovni proces na računalniku poteka takole: predem damo podatke in program, to je skupina ukazov, v računalnik, jih moramo najprej odluknjati na trak. Tega vstavimo nato v fotoelektrični čitalec, potem pa se podatki in ukazi shranijo v celice spomina. S pritiskom na določene gumbe na komandnem pultu povemo računalniku naj ukaze, ki jih je prejel izvrši. Vrednosti, ki jih računalnik izračuna, se tiskajo na teleprinterju. V našem studiu je nocoj predstojnik računskega centra, univerzitetni docent dr. Tomislav Skubic, ki nam bo povedal kaj več o delu računskega centra.
