Gaucho(R) (proposed common name imidacloprid) is one of a new class of actives, the nitroguanidines. Gaucho is an effective contact insecticide, stomach insecticide, and systemic insecticide after ...uptake through the root system. Used as a constituent of a coating for beet seed, Gaucho is highly effective against the entire spectrum of early pests, both soilborne and foliar. It is particularly effective against aphids. When used in a coating for beet seed, Gaucho is highly compatible with the plants. Gaucho can be used in combination with fungicides for dressing seed. European trials in which imidacloprid was used in a great variety of coatings for beet seed produced very good results
