•Artificial intelligence (AI) – employee collaboration can create value for businesses.•We validate a model examining antecedents to AI-employee collaboration.•Knowledge sharing is key for developing ...effective AI-employee collaboration.•AI skills, trust and job role clarity will positively influence business performance.
The extant literature has outlined the significance of collaborative intelligence stemming from effective partnership between artificial intelligence (AI) systems and human workers to achieve organisationally valued outcomes. However, there is paucity of research insights on the factors influencing AI-human partnership and its impact on business performance. To bridge this knowledge gap, this paper draws on the knowledge-based view, (KBV) socio-technical systems (STS) and organisational socialisation framework (OSF) to develop and validate a novel theoretical model examining the relationships between knowledge sharing, employees’ AI skills, trust, and role clarity in a collaborative working environment to enhance business performance. A primary survey-based research method was used to capture responses from 164 employees in the UK creative industries, and further analysed by employing Structural Equation Modelling technique. Our findings will provide managers and the AI community with primary evidence and strategies that will help to develop collaborative intelligence capabilities within the organisations.
Keywords: Relationeel-performatief, Actor-Netwerk Theorie, translatie
The use of BPM (Business Process Management) has matured over the years, reaching high levels of acceptance and utilization. Despite this, there are still points that BPM does not fully resolve. One ...of the main limitations of the use of BPM is the lack of a complete acquisition of valuable information during the design stage, taking place in contexts where communication between the stakeholders is not appropriate and it is not possible to fully collect essential data. At the execution stage, the participation of users has not been studied in depth to record detected problems or indicate improvements in business processes.
The emergence and development of Web 2.0 opened a way to solve these problems. This work proposes to base how the socialization tools can solve current problems in BPM through a theoretical analysis added to the practical development of a socialization tool integrated to a BPMS (Business Process Management System). Keywords: Business process, BPM, Web 2.0, Social BPM, BPMS, Social Software. Image deblurring is a classic problem in low-level computer vision with the aim to recover a sharp image from a blurred input image. Advances in deep learning have led to significant progress in ...solving this problem, and a large number of deblurring networks have been proposed. This paper presents a comprehensive and timely survey of recently published deep-learning based image deblurring approaches, aiming to serve the community as a useful literature review. We start by discussing common causes of image blur, introduce benchmark datasets and performance metrics, and summarize different problem formulations. Next, we present a taxonomy of methods using convolutional neural networks (CNN) based on architecture, loss function, and application, offering a detailed review and comparison. In addition, we discuss some domain-specific deblurring applications including face images, text, and stereo image pairs. We conclude by discussing key challenges and future research directions.
This paper focuses on paths towards innovation and considers different types of innovation. It develops a new framework to analyze the internal and external factors that influence the types of ...innovation and their relationships with business performance in the manufacturing sector. A proposed theoretical model is tested and used to evaluate the process of innovation by country (Peru and Chile) and companies by size, type of industry, financial aspects and level of patenting. In Chile, the driver is technological innovation in processes, whereas in Peru, it is non-technological innovation. Companies with high perceptions of financial constraints exhibit a preference for the development of marketing innovations to substantially improve production performance; if a company perceives few financial barriers, it increases innovation resources and process innovation to significantly improve market performance. Small businesses increase non-technological innovation by investing in staff to manage the social networks. Moreover, the participation of foreign capital may overcome the institutional voids and lack of support systems. Furthermore, the combination of process and organizational innovation increases export performance, and the effect of the cooperation depends on the type of industry. Finally, we note the limitations and propose future research.
•We test a theoretical model for the innovation process in emerging economies.•Specific resources and external factors activate particular innovation types.•Combining technological and non-technological innovation improves firm performance.
The contribution from the creative industry to the regional economic growth has made the creative industry a new driver in economic development. But as a relatively young economic sector, the ...creative industry has its unique way of profiting through generating intellectual property with human creativity, talents, and skills. This profiting mechanism draws attention from both academia and industry to explore the factors that influence the performance of creative industry. This study explores the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance of the creative industry. Using the dynamic DEA approach, we evaluated the longitudinal efficiency performance of 53 creative firms during the period of 2010–2013. Regression analysis was employed to determine if corporate social responsibility influences financial performance. The empirical results indicated that content media related businesses, which include motion pictures, publishing, and broadcasting, are the performance growth leaders, and the regression result showed that corporate social responsibility has a significant positive influence on the financial performance of the creative industry. In addition, the results also revealed that risk taking and capital oriented characteristics exist within the creative industry.
