Non-domestic buildings contribute 20% of the UK’s annual carbon emissions. A contribution exacerbated by its ageing stock of which only 7% is considered new-build. Consequently, the government has ...set regulations to decrease the amount of energy take-up by buildings which currently favour deep energy retrofitting analysis for decision-making and demonstrating compliance. Due to the size and complexity of non-domestic buildings, identifying optimal retrofit packages can be very challenging. The need for effective decision-making has led to the wide adoption of artificial intelligence in the retrofit strategy design process. However, the vast retrofit solution space and high time-complexity of energy simulations inhibit artificial intelligence’s application. This paper presents an energy performance prediction model for non-domestic buildings supported by machine learning. The aim of the model is to provide a rapid energy performance estimation engine for assisting multi-objective optimisation of non-domestic buildings energy retrofit planning. The study lays out the process of model development from the investigation of requirements and feature extraction to the application on a case study. It employs sensitivity analysis methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the feature set in covering retrofit technologies. The machine learning model which is optimised using advanced evolutionary algorithms provide a robust and reliable tool for building analysts enabling them to meaningfully explore the expanding solution space. The model is evaluated by assessing three thousand retrofit variations of a case study building, achieving a root mean square error of 1.02 kgCO2∕m2×year equal to 1.7% of error.
•Addressed impracticality of optimisation methods in supporting deep energy retrofit.•A machine learning model to calculate non-domestic buildings’ energy performance.•Identified essential features of non-domestic buildings affecting energy performance.•TOptimised the model by tuning hyperparameters using an evolutionary algorithm.•Evaluated model performance by scoring thousands of variations in a sample building.
The inherent characteristics of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as limited storage and computational power, require a new platform to efficiently process data. The concept of fog computing has ...been introduced as a technology to bridge the gap between remote data centers and IoT devices. Fog computing enables a wide range of benefits, including enhanced security, decreased bandwidth, and reduced latency. These benefits make the fog an appropriate paradigm for many IoT services in various applications such as connected vehicles and smart grids. Nevertheless, fog devices (located at the edge of the Internet) obviously face many security and privacy threats, much the same as those faced by traditional data centers. In this article, the authors discuss the security and privacy issues in IoT environments and propose a mechanism that employs fog to improve the distribution of certificate revocation information among IoT devices for security enhancement. They also present potential research directions aimed at using fog computing to enhance the security and privacy issues in IoT environments.
The 1 + X certificate system, introduced in China in 2019, integrates academic credentials with vocational skill certificates to meet the heightened demand for skilled talents in the growing economy. ...This study aims to innovate and evaluate the vocational pharmaceutical education system under the 1 + X certificate framework, specifically addressing the gap between theoretical education and workplace requirements.
A retrospective observational approach analyzed 490 pharmacy students over two academic years. The 2021 cohort underwent 1 + X integrated education, while the 2020 cohort followed conventional education. We collaborated closely with industry partners to identify and compile typical job competencies, formulating work projects aligned with industry demands. Combining the skill level standards and assessment content of “1+X Pharmaceutical Purchasing and Sales” and “1+X Pharmaceutical Preparation”, we revised the course standards, incorporating typical work projects into the 2021 pharmacy professional teaching curriculum. This constituted the fundamental content of the 1 + X education reform. Statistical analysis compared course scores and 1 + X certificate examination performance.
The 2021 cohort, under the 1 + X educational model, demonstrated higher average scores in pharmacy courses, with significant improvements in pharmacology (1 + X vs. Traditional education: 58.40 ± 14.20 vs. 53.44 ± 14.67), clinical pharmacotherapy (72.74 ± 10.28 vs. 63.15 ± 11.03), and pharmaceutical distribution and marketing (79.34 ± 10.96 vs. 67.50 ± 15.82). 1 + X certificate pass rates and satisfaction with the model were also higher than the 2020 cohort.
The 1 + X certificate system is useful for developing talent in Chinese vocational education, effectively integrating assessments with industry standards. Future research should aim at evaluating long-term outcomes and improving quantitative skills assessments for enhanced effectiveness.

Corporate adoption of renewables has been lukewarm at best in Singapore. This study aims to identify the drivers and barriers to renewable procurement, establish key criteria for renewable energy ...certificates (RECs, a type of renewable energy product), and recommend policies to accelerate corporate renewable energy adoption in Singapore. We surveyed seven drivers, 12 barriers, nine criteria of RECs, and 11 actions for REC adoption with 35 experienced professionals from major business sectors in Singapore. The top three drivers of corporate renewable procurement were to meet corporate sustainability goals, reduce energy procurement costs, and demonstrate corporate leadership. The most concerning criterion of RECs was traceability that RECs must be generated and transacted through a REC tracking system endorsed by the government or a third party. The most significant barrier to REC adoption was the lack of awareness of RECs and their benefits. Plausible actions to address the barriers include seeking support from senior management, establishing corporate sustainability targets, developing national standards for RECs, promoting successful local business cases, and for government to endorse private-sector REC tracking system(s). The findings could raise corporate awareness and assist policymakers in formulating policies, infrastructure, and initiatives to accelerate renewable energy adoption in Singapore.
Land has a dual function, namely as a social asset and a capital asset. The function of land as a social asset is a means of binding social unity among the community and the function of land as a ...capital asset because land has grown as a very important economic object. recorded in the land book. However, the certificate can be canceled at any time and the cancellation of the certificate of land rights will have a further impact on the process of guaranteeing the inherent Mortgage.
The formulation of the problem in this research is, First, what is the consideration of the Judge of the State Administrative Court in canceling the certificate of ownership rights over land that is encumbered with mortgage rights? Second, What are the legal consequences of Certificate Cancellation based on a State Administrative Court Decision which has permanent legal force?
The specification of this research is descriptive analysis. The approach used in this research is a normative juridical approach. It is called this because this research is a library research or document study which is carried out aimed only at written regulations or other legal materials.
Based on the results of the research, it shows that (1) Consideration of State Administrative Court Judges in Cancellation of Certificate of Ownership of Land Burdened with Mortgage Rights (Case Analysis of Decision No. 43 / G / 2019 / PTUN.PDG) is to consider all evidence submitted by the parties to make a decision by describing the evidence relevant to the case and the judge's consideration is also based on the prevailing laws and regulations. (2) The legal consequence of the cancellation of a certificate based on the decision of the State Administrative Court which has permanent legal force is to cancel a decision, so that the result of the issuance of the cancellation decision is seen from the verdict of the court that has obtained permanent legal force (inkracht). If the Court Decision declares a certificate of ownership rights over land cancellation, then this will cause the land that has been issued a certificate of ownership rights on it to return to its original status, namely State land.

Notaries as one of the public officials who are vulnerable to disputes in the agrarian sector as a consequence of negligence in carrying out their duties and authorities. This research uses the ...method of juridical analysis of the norms and legal customs that exist in the community public and analytical descriptive of the responsibilities of a notary and court decisions. The results of the study indicate that there is negligence and unlawful behavior carried out by both an appearer and the notary himself. This can be seen in the Decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Supreme Court Decision No. 185 PK/Pid/2010, the Notary was sentenced based on Article 263 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP) Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) to the- 1 The Criminal Code (KUHP), which imposes penalties on notaries for falsifying documents. In this case, the Notary as a State official and serving as law enforcement is dealing with the law for actions that he did not commit, as a result of the parties submitting the deed by bringing fake letters or documents. While the Notary argued that his party did not know that the documents received from his client were fake. So that, there is a void of legal norms in the Notary Position Act relating to legal protection and the responsibility of the Notary in making the deed based on data and information falsified by the parties. Therefore, it is necessary to have justice and legal certainty that can solve these problems.
