Pod degradacijom tla podrazumijevaju se procesi koji dovode do smanjenja njegove plodnosti ili proizvodne sposobnosti te drugih korisnih uloga koje tlo ima u ekosustavu zbog ljudske aktivnosti ili ...prirodnih uvjeta. Tlo je izloženo procesima fizikalne, kemijske i biološke degradacije. Od fizikalnih procesa degradacije mogu se izdvojiti: gubitak plodnog tla zbog erozije vodom i vjetrom, kvarenje strukture i zbijanje tla, te dezertifikacija. Kemijski procesi degradacije tla odnose se na: ispiranje hraniva i toksičnost zbog kisele ili bazične reakcije tla (zaslanjivanje ili alkalizacija) i štetne tvari u tlu. Smanjenje sadržaja organske tvari i biološke raznolikosti tla pripadaju biološkim procesima degradacije. Svi ovi procesi, koje ponajprije uzrokuje čovjek, a manje su rezultat prirodnih uvjeta, nepovoljno se odražavaju na plodnost, produktivnost, kakvoću i zdravlje tla. U radu su detektirani uzroci i posljedice ovih degradacijskih procesa te se daju odgovarajuće smjernice za kvalitetnije gospodarenje tlom i preporučuju se mjere njegove sanacije.
Soil degradation refers to processes that lead to a decrease in its fertility or production capacity and other useful roles that the soil plays in the ecosystem due to human activity or natural conditions. The soil is exposed to the processes of physical, chemical and biological degradation. From the physical processes of degradation, the following can be distinguished: loss of fertile soil due to erosion by water and wind, deterioration of the structure and soil compaction, and desertification. Chemical processes of soil degradation refer to: leaching of nutrients and toxicity due to acidic or basic soil reaction (salinization or alkalization) and harmful substances in the soil. The decrease in the organic matter content and biological diversity of the soil belong to the biological processes of degradation. All these processes, which are primarily human caused and less the result of natural conditions, adversely affect the fertility, productivity, quality and health of the soil. In the paper, the causes and consequences of these degradation processes are detected and appropriate guidelines are given for better soil management and measures for its remediation are recommended.
In the context of sustainability and the use of natural resources, it has been often shown that agricultural soils do not reach their productive function to their full potential. The ability of the ...soil to provide plants with appropriate growing conditions is reduced due to soil degradation. Documenting soil conditions aimed at determining soil quality indicators in relation to soil management enables to identify the type and location of degradation in order to suggest corrective measures to farmers for the soil fertility improvement. Since the basis for the successful agricultural production is appropriate soil quality from one side, and the soil quality improvement, monitoring and protection are priority according to the current legal acts, the new European Soil Strategy for 2030 and the Soil Act planned for 2023 from another side, the soil testing laboratory of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (PGKC) conducted the initial studies in 2019. Soil samples from the agricultural field in PGKC were tested using fast methods for following parameters: soil pH, total CaCO3, nitrate content, content of plant available phosphorus, potassium and magnesium, total calcium, aggregate stability and electrical conductivity. The test results idnicated the relative condition of the soil at different locations and in different crops. In addition, the results served as a basis for the sustainable soil management measures suggestion to the farmers in PGKC.
U kontekstu održivosti i korištenja prirodnih resursa često se pokazuje da poljoprivredna tla neostvaruju svoju produktivnu funkciju u potpunosti. Sposobnost tla da pruži biljkama odgovarajućeuvjete za rast i razvoj smanjuje se zbog degradacije tla. Dokumentiranje stanja tla s ciljem utvrđivanjapokazatelja kvalitete tla u vezi s upravljanjem tlom omogućuje identifikaciju vrste i mjesta degradacijekako bi se poljoprivrednicima predložile ispravne mjere za poboljšanje plodnosti tla. S obzirom nato da je temelj uspješne poljoprivredne proizvodnje odgovarajuća kvaliteta tla s jedne strane, aispitivanje, praćenje i zaštita kvalitete tla prioritet sukladno važećim zakonskim propisima, novojEuropskoj strategiji tla za 2030. godinu i Zakonu o tlu planiranom za 2023. s druge strane, laboratorijza ispitivanje tla Centra za poljoprivredu i ruralni razvoj Primorsko-goranske županije (PGŽ) proveoje početna istraživanja 2019. godine. Uzorci tla s poljoprivrednih površina u PGŽ testirani su brzimmetodama za sljedeće parametre: pH tla, ukupni CaCO3, sadržaj nitrata, sadržaj biljkama dostupnogfosfora, kalija i magnezija, ukupni kalcij, stabilnost agregata i električna vodljivost. Rezultati testiranjapokazali su relativno stanje tla na različitim lokacijama i u različitim kulturama. Osim toga, rezultatisu poslužili i kao osnova za prijedlog održivih mjera upravljanja tlom poljoprivrednicima u PGŽ.
Cilj ovog rada je opisati glavne strukturne i biokemijske promjene u mišićima post mortem te postupke koje se direktno povezuje sa mekoćom mesa. S obzirom na kompleksnost, strukturne i biokemijske ...promjene koje utječu na mekoću mesa mogu se ugrubo podijeliti na one vezane uz sadržaj i svojstva vezivnog tkiva, sadržaj intramuskularne masti, dužinu sarkomere te degradaciju miofibrilarnih proteina. Ukratko, mekanije meso se povezuje sa manjim sadržajem vezivnog tkiva, boljom topljivošću kolagena, većim sadržajem intramuskularne masti, dužom sarkomerom i većom degradacijom miofibrilarnih proteina. Recently, a transgenic mouse carrying one of the identified CASQ2 point-mutations (R33Q) associated to CPVT was developed and a drastic reduction of the mutated protein was observed. Following a biomolecular approach, several analysis were performed using different antibody treatments in order to identify when the reduction of CASQ2 begins in skeletal muscles, unveil the mechanism involved in the reduction of CASQ2 in slow-twitch and fast twitch muscles and verify if other proteins are affected by the presence of the mutated protein.
Mutated CASQ2 decreased soon after birth. Up-regulation of proteins associated to the unfolded protein response (UPR) was also observed. Important proteins in skeletal muscle triads formation were analyzed and increased protein levels were observed in adult knock-in CASQ2-R33Q/R33Q mice.
Probably, R33Q mutation induced the decrease of CASQ2 by activation of the UPR and subsequently degradation through proteasome.
Izoforma 2 kalsekvestrina (CSQ2) je glavni kalcijum-vezujući protein sarkoplazmatskog retikuluma (SR) i ispoljava se i u srčanom i u skeletnom mišiću. CSQ2 deluje kao SR kalcijumski sensor, koji reguliše oslobađanje Ca
jona iz sarkoplazmatskog retikuluma putem interakcije sa triadinom, junktinom i rianodinskim receptorom. Različite mutacije csq2 gena dovode do promena u oslobađanju Ca
i kontraktilne funkcije i na taj način doprinose razvoju aritmija i iznenadnoj srčanoj smrti mladih osoba koje boluju od kateholaminergičke polimorfne ventrikularne tahikardije (CPVT).
Nedavnim razvojem transgenetskih miševa koji su nosioci CASQ2 point mutacija (R33Q) udruženim sa CPVT-om, uočeno je drastično smanjenje nivoa mutiranog proteina. U skladu sa biomolekularnim pristupom, izvedeno je nekoliko analiza primenom tretmana različitim antitelima kako bi se identifikovao početak smanjenja CASQ2 u skeletnim mišićima, otkrio mehanizam uključen u smanjenje CASQ2 kod sporo- i brzo-kontrahujućih mišića, i na kraju utvrdilo da li prisustvo mutiranog proteina utiče i na ostale proteine.
Rezultati studije su pokazali da se nivo mutirajućeg CASQ2 smanjio brzo nakon rođenja. Takođe je primećeno da je razvijeni oblik proteina bio povezan sa ushodnom regulacijom. Analizirani su važni proteini kod formiranja trijada skeletnih mišića, a takođe su uočeni i povišeni nivoi proteina kod odraslih knockin miševa sa CASQ2-R33Q/R33Q.
Veruje se da je mutacija R33Q dovela do smanjenja CASQ2 putem aktivacije odgovora razvijenog proteina i posledične proteozomalne degradacije.
Dosedanje raziskave na področju erozije in procesov odlaganja talnih delcev v Sloveniji so uporabljale konvencionalne metode meritev. Prispevek predstavlja prednosti uporabe radionuklidov za oceno ...obsega prerazporeditve talne mase ter obravnava primer ocene izhodiščnega depozita 137Cs na neporušenem talnem profilu v Šalamencih v vzhodni Sloveniji. Ugotovljen izhodiščni depozit 137Cs za izbrano gozdno parcelo je bil 7316 ± 2525 Bq m–2 (koeficient variabilnosti 34 %, n = 20). Ti podatki bodo uporabljeni pri aplikaciji 137Cs metode v prihodnjih raziskavah o stopnji erozije in procesov odlaganja talnih delcev na okoliških kmetijskih zemljiščih.
Large scale housing estates, once a dream of every family, now are facing serious physical and social decline. However comparison of the post war housing has showed that despite low physical quality ...neighbourhoods in the east-central Europe were much less deteriorated, then their western counterparts. On the other hand nowadays post socialist cities are experiencing loss of population, sprawl and shifts in the housing market. That changes position of the estates, which is rapidly decreasing. As soon as the housing shortage is eliminated, apartments in the estates go to the bottom of the market, segregation, urban problems and decline is triggered. To prevent the threat to happen it is necessary to start rehabilitation programs in early enough stage. However it is essential that regeneration policies are included in broader city plans and strategies, as that brings long lasting results, and is beneficial for the neighbourhood and for the city itself. The paper researches tools how to prevent large scale neighbourhood decline in post socialist cities, learning from western European regeneration policies.
Deforestation and forest degradation represent a significant fraction of the annual worldwide human-induced emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, the main source of biodiversity losses and ...the destruction of millions of people's homes. Despite local/regional causes, its consequences are global. This book provides a general view about deforestation dynamics around the world, incorporating analyses of its causes, impacts and actions to prevent it. Its 17 Chapters, organized in three sections, refer to deforestation impacts on climate, soil, biodiversity and human population, but also describe several initiatives to prevent it. A special emphasis is given to different remote-sensing and mapping techniques that could be used as a source for decision-makers and society to promote forest conservation and control deforestation.
Povećanje osovinskog opterećenja i brzine prometovanja kolosijekom utječe na bržu degradaciju kolosiječne konstrukcije, posebice zastorne prizme. Drobljenje kamenih zrna unutar zastora zbog ...prevelikih kontaktnih sila među njima, uzrokuje degradaciju u vidu zapunjavanja šupljina što dovodi do slabije odvodnje koja može prouzročiti slom konstrukcije. Optimizacijom učestalosti održavanja i pravilnim oblikovanjem zastora temeljenih na numeričkim i eksperimentalnim postupcima, može se utjecati na proces degradacije zastorne prizme, a time i na ukupne troškove održavanja. U ovom radu prikazane su mogućnosti metode diskretnih elemenata u predviđanju ponašanja kolosiječnog zastora.
In the first part of this doctoral dissertation graft copolymers of polystyrene and starch were synthesized by emulsion polymerization in water with sodium dodecyl sulfate as an emulsifier. Influence ...of different amines, as activators of polymerization, on the percentage of grafting of polystyrene on starch was investigated and investigation of this influence has not been noted in the literature. Changes in reaction temperature, concentration of the monomer and initiator, pH value, time and amount of activator strive to obtain maximum value of percentage of grafting and maximal obtained value was 32.55 % which was about 8.5 % higher than maximal literature value. In the second part of this study, graft copolymers of poly(methacrylic acid) and starch were synthesized in aqueous media using different amines as activator of polymerization (there is no literature data about this influence) with the aim to obtaining a higher percentage of grafting. Influence of temperature, reaction time, monomer concentration, amount of initiator, amount of activator and pH value were monitored to obtain maximum values for percentage of grafting. Obtained values for percentage of grafting of starch and poly(methacrylic acid) grafted copolymers were the highest ever obtained in literature. The maximum value for percentage of grafting was 40.92 % which was about 10 % higher than maximal literatue value. The obtained copolymers were characterized by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy and by scanning electron microscopy. At the third part of this doctoral dissertation, the degradation processes of copolymers were monitored in environment. Degradation of copolymers in soil, i.e. in three different type of soil, lasted for six months and for this study the following soil types were used: soil rich in humus, soil for cactus growing and soil for orchid growing. Also, degradation of graft copolymers in artificial wastewater obtaines from River Sava was monitored. During degradation in water, the continuous flow system was used. Mass loss of copolymers during degradation was used in both methods for obtaining values for measuring the degree of degradation. Degradation of poly(methacrylic acid) and starch grafted copolymers in soils and degradation of both types of copolymers in the artificial waste water have not been noted in the literature. Investigation has shown that the degradation of all samples of copolymers in artificial waste water was much faster, where all degradation processes lasted less than a month, than in soil. The results of degradation in soil show that degradation was fastest in soil for cactus growing (for grafted copolymers of polystyrene and starch) and for grafted copolymers of poly(methacrylic acid) and starch in soil for orchid growing. Statistical analysis of data show excellent correlation between degree of degradation and percentage of grafting for graft copolymers of polystyrene and starch and share of starch in copolymers which is necessary to biodegradation started and share of polystyrene in copolymers that prevented biodegradation.
U prvom delu ove doktorske disertacije sintetisani su kalemljeni kopolimeri polistirena i skroba emulzionom polimerizacijom u vodi uz korišćenje natrijum-laurilsulfata kao emulgatora. Ispitivan je uticaj različitih amina kao aktivatora polimerizacije na stepen kalemljenja polistirena na skrob, a ispitivanje ovog uticaj do sada nije zabeleženo u literaturi. Promenom reakcione temperature, koncentracije monomera i inicijatora, pH vrednosti, vremena i količine aktivatora težilo se dobijanju maksimalnih vrednosti stepena kalemljenja, a maksimalna dobijena vrednost iznosila je 32,55 %, što je za oko 8,5 % veće od najviše literaturne vrednosti. U drugom delu ovog rada sintetisani su kalemljeni kopolimeri poli(metakrilne kiseline) i skroba u vodi kao rastvaraču uz korišćenje različitih amina kao aktivatora polimerizacije (ovaj uticaj do sada nije ispitan u literaturi), sa ciljem dobijanja što većeg stepena kalemljenja. Da bi se dobile maksimalne vrednosti za stepen kalemljenja, praćen je uticaj promene reakcione temperature, reakcionog vremena, koncentracije monomera, količine inicijatora, količine aktivatora i pH vrednosti. Dobijene vrednosti za stepen kalemljenja kod kalemljenih kopolimera skroba i poli(metakrilne kiseline) su najveće do sada publikovane u literaturi. Maksimalna vrednost stepena kalemljenja iznosila je 40,92 %, što je za oko 10 % veće od najviše literaturne vrednosti. Dobijeni kopolimeri ispitivani su infracrvenom spektroskopijom sa Furijevom transformacijom i skenirajućom elektronskom mikroskopijom. U trećem delu doktorske teze praćeni su procesi degradacije dobijenih kopolimera u životnoj sredini. Degradacija kopolimera u zemljištu, tj. u tri različita tipa zemljišta, trajala je 6 meseci, a za ovu namenu korišćeni su sledeći tipovi zemljišta: zemljište bogato humusom, zemljište za uzgajanje kaktusa i zemljište za uzgajanje orhideja. Takođe, ispitivana je degradcija kalemljenih kopolimera u veštačkoj otpadnoj vodi, dobijenoj iz reke Save. Prilikom degradacije u vodi korišćen je kontinualni protočni sistem. Gubitak mase kopolimera tokom procesa degradacije korišćen je kod obe metode za određivanje vrednosti stepena degradacije. Degradacija kalemljenih kopolimera skroba i poli(metakrilne kiseline) u zemljištu i degradacija obe vrste kopolimera u veštačkoj otpadnoj vodi do sada nije zabeležena u literaturi. Ispitivanjem je utvrđeno da je degradacija svih uzoraka kopolimera znatno brža u veštačkoj otpadnoj vodi, gde ceo proces degradacije traje manje od mesec dana, nego u zemljištu. Rezultati degradacije u zemljištu pokazuju da je degradacija najbrža u zemljištu za uzgajanje kaktusa (kod kalemljenih kopolimera polistirena i skroba), a kod kalemljenih kopolimera skroba i poli(metakrilne kiseline) u zemljištu za uzgajanje orhideja. Statističkom obradom podataka, utvrđeno je postojanje značajne korelacije između stepena degradacije i stepena kalemljenja kod kalemljenih kopolimera skroba i polistirena, kao i udeo skroba u kopolimerima koji je neophodan da bi došlo do biodegradacije, kao i udeo polistirena u kopolimerima koji bi doveo do sprečavanja biodegradacije.
