Global economy is the imperative of present way of doing business in the world. Therefore it is easy to understand why young Croatian government has chosen global and liberal international exchange ...policy of export propulsive strategy that was grounded upon private property and capital production-wise market relationship. Not adequately chosen model of privatisation with the elements of primary capital accumulation, bad operations of legislation, numerous exogenous parameters, especially great casualties and enormous war devastation Croatia experienced during Croatian War of Independence, as well as market of former Yugoslavia lost, caused zero growth and sometimes negative trends of the economy. Negative trends were especially shown in Croatian shipping industry. This industry is very relevant for citizens of south Croatia. Therefore the financing of Croatian shipping industry and its emerging from economic crises especially by means of credit leasing will be the topic of these analyses.

As we enter an era in which digital devices are used more and more, devices using 3D images are expected to become more widespread in the future. In the medical field, robotic surgery using 3D images ...and vitreous surgery using head-up displays are also becoming widespread, but prolonged viewing of 3D images may cause eye fatigue. One cause of this is the dissociation of convergence and accommodation during viewing of 3D images. The accommodation is fixed on the screen, while the convergence is induced to a greater extent than usual in protruded images. For this reason, people with weak motor fusion need to work harder to maintain the convergence accommodation, which in turn increases the accommodative effort and is thought to cause ocular fatigue. For smartphone reading at close distance (20 cm), gaze analysis showed that eso-deviation was greater for esophoria and the frequency of monocular viewing increased for intermittent exotropia, indicating that smartphone viewing at close distance is a significant visual burden.Patients with mild hyperopic anisometropia may complain of ocular fatigue during the early presbyopic age. Investigations with binocular wavefront sensors suggested that mono-vision by fixation alternation is often difficult to establish in adults, and that fixation by the far-sighted eye at near vision is the cause of ocular fatigue. An increasing number of cases of macular epi-retinal membrane complaining of macropsia showed that sized lenses with increased lens thickness and altered image magnification may be effective in treating unequal images at the photoreceptor level.
Quantum dots with single PL decay dynamics were promising for their applications in QD-based light-emitting devices. We here report an approach to synthesize high quality green emitting quaternary ...alloyed CdSeZnS quantum dots (QDs) with a hot-injection method. The quantum yield (QY) of as-synthesized ZnCdSSe QD cores is up to 84% with single-exponential PL decay dynamics. After overcoating 4 mono-layers (MLs) ZnS on the ZnCdSSe cores, the resultant ZnCdSSe/ZnS QDs reaches a PL QY as high as 96% at 520 nm and narrow emission spectra (full width at half maximum, FWHM <20 nm). The ZnCdSSe/ZnS QDs are used to fabricate green light emitting diodes (GLEDs) with a 390 nm chip as the backlight. The best GLEDs show bright green light, excellent color purity, and high luminous stability. Such excellent performance is attributed to a high nucleation temperature at 330 °C and the precisely controlled ZnS shells of CdSeZnS/ZnS QDs, which can effectively suppress Auger recombination (AR). This study suggests that the precise nucleation and shell engineering of QDs may provide an effective means to meet requirements for practical display and lighting applications.

Compounds 1, 2 and 3 with a common strategy of variation of substituent at the 4-position of naphthalimide have been designed and synthesized. Of the three structures, compound 1 has been established ...as F− sensor in CH3CN involving a color change from colorless to pink. The pink color is discharged in the presence of water or any polar protic solvent. By comparison, while compound 3 did not show any response towards anions, compound 2 under identical conditions exhibited color change from light yellow to pink in presence of several basic anions such as F−, AcO− and H2PO4−. This emphasizes the importance on structural tuning in establishing a new effective sensor for a particular anion. F−-induced deprotonation of 1 and its reprotonation with water has been employed as the working principle to detect the moisture content in various organic solvents. In addition, F−-activated CO2 sensing via color and fluorescence changes have been demonstrated using chemosensor 1. Compound 1 and F− coated paper exhibit color change on heating and cooling. Writing on this 1.F− coated paper using AcO− ion as ink and its appearance/disappearance on heating/cooling has been possible successfully.

Thermal comfort in uniform environments created by HVAC systems have been investigated for decades. However, the case in nonuniform microenvironments created by the personal conditioning device (PCD) ...is different because of the local thermal stimuli on occupants. This study used PCD to provide localized cooling for users based on their individual thermal preferences. We collected PCD users' wrist temperatures and heart rate variabilities (HRV), as well as thermal sensation/comfort questionnaires. Because of the nonuniform thermal stimuli, the physiological responses triggered by the PCD show unclear patterns, which are incompatible with traditional thermal comfort models developed for the uniform environment. Therefore, we utilized machine learning methods to model PCD users’ thermal comfort. By using SVM with RBF kernel based on multiple HRV indices in addition to wrist temperatures, the F1 score is improved by more than four times when compared to the model only based on wrist temperatures. This indicates the importance of HRV as physiological indices for the thermal comfort with nonuniform thermal stimuli. The best performances of our models are higher than 0.90 for both thermal sensation and comfort, which can provide a reliable solution in predicting the thermal sensation and comfort in nonuniform environments with the PCD.
•We considered HRV for comforts in nonuniform microenvironments created by PCD.•The PCD created physiological responses incompatible with traditional comfort models.•SVM with RBF kernel achieved the best performance among machine learning methods.•Including multiple HRVs in addition to wrist temperatures improved the model performance.•The highest model performance indices exceeded 0.9 for both thermal sensation and comfort.
Abstract
OBJECTIVES
Both surgical and percutaneous femoral accesses for the establishment of extracorporeal circulation are used in minimally invasive cardiac surgeries. The goal of this study was to ...compare the outcomes with the MANTA vascular closure device after percutaneous arterial decannulation via the surgical approach.
METHODS
Between November 2018 and January 2021, a total of 490 consecutive patients underwent minimally invasive cardiac operations at our institution. Cannulation and decannulation of femoral vessels were under direct vision surgically or percutaneously. The MANTA system was used to close the femoral artery in all patients with percutaneous cannulation. Demographic, clinical and procedural data were collected retrospectively.
RESULTS
Surgical cut-down and suture closure of the femoral artery was performed in 222 patients (45.3%); percutaneous access and closure with the MANTA system was used in 268 patients (54.7%). The surgical group presented a significantly higher incidence of any access site complication compared to the percutaneous group 18 patients (8.1%) vs 6 patients (2.2%); P = 0.003. Lymph fistula and wound healing disorders occurred more frequently in the surgical group (3.2% vs 0% P = 0.004 and 3.6% vs 0% P = 0.002, respectively). Median procedural duration and stays in the intensive care unit were significantly lower in the percutaneous group {127 interquartile range (IQR) 97–158 min vs 150 (IQR 117–185) min (P < 0.001) and 1 (IQR 1–2) day vs 2 (IQR 1–3) days (P = 0.008), respectively}.
CONCLUSIONS
Percutaneous access and closure with the MANTA system are feasible, safe and associated with lower incidences of all-cause access site complications and shorter stays in the intensive care unit compared to surgical access and closure in minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.
In the last few decades, cardiovascular surgery has gradually shifted towards a minimally invasive approach for various procedures such as valve procedures, coronary artery bypass and intracardiac tumour resection.
