This work aimed to make a reflection about the use of educational games in teaching biology and its importance to the process of teaching and learning. The survey was developed through literature review articles indexed in the data banks of Cielo, Google and Academic Portal Capes, about the importance of educational games as educational material that helps the teaching and learning of biology content. Through a qualitative analysis on the subject was noticed in the literature that the use of educational games has been very relevant and its relationship to the teaching of biology has proven to be a viable teaching tool to aid learning content in a relaxed way room, providing opportunities for further development by the students, and assisting teachers in articulating their classes in a dynamic and fun way, away from the view of subjects and monotonous classes. Literature review shows that many primary school teachers have poor understanding of basic astronomy contents. Therefore, the aim of the study was to introduce specific astronomical content to ...in-service primary school teachers through two didactic games, to evaluate the didactic games and the teachers’ knowledge and understanding before and after the implementation of the didactic games. The research included 24 in-service primary school teachers. The data were collected through the knowledge test (pre-post design) and questionnaires for each didactic game. The results showed that the teachers evaluated the didactic games as suitable for use in the classroom as they emphasized that they are educational, explicit and interesting. The implementation was identified as effective because the median for fractional gains was 0.54 and showed the medium gain in teachers’ knowledge and understanding of selected astronomy contents. It was recognized that in-service primary school teachers do not feel competent for introducing complex astronomical contents to their students. However, the presented approach could encourage in-service primary school teachers to deepen their knowledge and to teach astronomy contents with a method that is closer to their students. University teachers could point out the advantages and disadvantages of didactic games in astronomy content and discuss them with pre-service primary school teachers.
The article is dedicated to learn the impact of increasing cognitive activity in preschool children. 44 children aged 5-6 were selected for the research and the impact on the cognitive activity ...through didactic games with them were investigated. Cooperation, Games and Mathematics: Analysis of the Application of Cooperative Tridio with Students of Primary Education This research is about the application of the board game called Cooperative Tridio in primary education classes. The goals are: (a) to analyse the interaction dynamics, (b) to assess the cooperation level, (c) to analyse the episodes of mathematical reasoning, and (d) to know the students’ perception concerning the cooperative learning. By using a qualitative research methodology, results showed that Cooperative Tridio promotes interaction between all the players, offers a potential (but not guaranteed) cooperative learning framework, fosters many types of mathematical reasoning, and makes students reflect on cooperative learning.
