This study aimed to highlight the status of Surah Al Qasas among other Surahs of the Holy Qur'an as well as to investigate significant educational principles, values and styles included in the Surah. ...The researcher used the descriptive method based on analysis and deduction. The study findings revealed that Surah Al Qasas is one of the Meccan Surahs of Qur’an, whose main goal is to show the true balance of power and values represented in the power of God, and the value of belief in Him. The findings also showed that the Surah includes a number of educational principles, values, styles and meanings, which should be derived and applied in education. Based on these concepts and principles, the educational theory in the Muslim community should be developed. The reason behind the imbalance in the value and ethical system of today's Muslim community is attributed to the absence or lack of incorporation of such values deduced from Surah Al Qasas into the curricula and institutions of Islamic Education. In light of these results, the study recommends the need for integration of and interaction between Islamic educational institutions, particularly the family, the mosque and the school, in activating and applying educational concepts and implications deduced from Surah Al-Qasas. It is also recommended that educational policies in the Muslim community should be re-analyzed and re-developed, taking these educational concepts and implications into consideration.

Factores cognitivos, motivacionales y sociales se relacionan en la investigación sobre los procesos de aprendizaje. En conjunto, influyen en la obtención de los mejores resultados académicos. Este ...trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar el valor predictivo de las estrategias de aprendizaje, las metas, los estilos educativos y las expectativas académicas parentales sobre el rendimiento en ESO. De forma más novedosa, se incorporan las percepciones mutuas de estudiantes y progenitores sobre dichas variables. Para llevarlo a cabo se diseñó un estudio descriptivo, correlacional e inferencial con metodología cuantitativa. Se administraron cuatro cuestionarios a una muestra de 358 estudiantes con edades comprendidas entre los 11 y los 17 años de un centro público de ESO. La versión parental de los mismos instrumentos fue utilizada con 158 madres y padres del mismo centro educativo. Entre los resultados obtenidos destaca el del análisis de regresión respecto del rendimiento. El 62.5% de la varianza del rendimiento es explicado por cinco variables: Expectativa parental percibida, Regulación del esfuerzo, Meta de superación del ego percibida, Meta de protección del ego percibida en sentido negativo y Estilo permisivo percibido. El perfil del estudiante que consigue los mejores resultados académicos autorregula de manera adecuada el esfuerzo necesario para la adquisición de conocimiento, percibe altas expectativas académicas parentales, es percibido con metas de rendimiento y su entorno familiar es principalmente afectivo. Este artículo concluye con algunas recomendaciones a tener en cuenta en la práctica educativa como, por ejemplo, reforzar la orientación y/o formación parental en ESO, e incidir en aspectos estratégicos y motivacionales de los estudiantes.
Introduction: Theory and research support the idea that subjective well-being (positive / negative affect and life satisfaction) is a substantial construct in understanding psychological well-being ...and mental health. The relevance of life satisfaction in variables affecting psychological well-being has been studied. Life satisfaction in adolescents and its association with sex, age, parental educational styles, peer attachment and emotional intelligence was researched. Groups were compared according to degree of life satisfaction and its relationship with these variables. Method: The sample was composed of 285 secondary school students (49.8% male), average age 15.09 years (12 to 19), and self-report measures of variables were applied to be analyzed: "Satisfaction with Life Scale-Child" (SWLS-C), "Parental Educational Style of Adolescents," "Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment" (IPPA) and "Trait Meta-Mood-Scale-48" (TMMS-48). Results: Results showed a significant high level of satisfaction among adolescents. A significant higher score among boys compared to girls was confirmed, as in the younger compared to older. Correlations were statistically significant between life satisfaction and all dimensions from Parental Educational Style analyzed, except Behavioral Control; with Alienation and Confidence of Peer Attachment; and with Emotional Intelligence Clarity and Repair, as well as statistically significant differences among satisfaction groups in 12 of the 19 variables analyzed. Discussion and Conclusion: Promoting life satisfaction in adolescents is increasingly relevant, due to the role it may play in achieving good psychological adjustment, thus contributing to the promotion and prevention of mental health.
L’expérience de la parentalité peut soulever des questions spécifiques lorsque l’un des parents a vécu une migration internationale au cours de sa vie. Cet article interroge le vécu des couples ...mixtes à partir de leurs représentations du travail parental et des styles éducatifs. Une enquête, réalisée en Italie entre 2016 et 2017 auprès de parents italiens et africains subsahariens, met en lumière leurs points de vue sur la négociation de la répartition des rôles parentaux et les différences de styles éducatifs au quotidien. Les entretiens semi-directifs menés auprès de vingt parents et la mise en résonance des discours des mères et des pères révèlent les rapports sociaux et de genre qui sous-tendent les représentations du travail éducatif et parental. Ces résultats soulignent la nécessité de considérer les discours des parents en couple mixte afin de saisir la pluralité des déterminants pouvant jouer un rôle sur l’expérience parentale et l’unicité des parcours familiaux.
The experience of parenthood can raise specific questions when one of the parents has experienced international migration during their life. This work examines the life experience of mixed couples from their representations of parental work and educational styles. A survey conducted in Italy between 2016 and 2017 among Sub-Saharan African and Italian parents highlighted their views on the negotiation and distribution of parental roles and differences in daily educational styles. Semi-directive interviews conducted with 20 parents and the resonance of the mothers’ and fathers’ discourses reveal the social and gender relations underlying representations of educational and parental work. These results underline the need to consider the discourses of mixed couple parents to grasp the multiplicity of the determining factors that can play a part in parental experience and the singularity of family pathways.
RESUMEN Se ha pretendido averiguar si el estilo educativo familiar influye en el desencadenamiento de acoso escolar, para lo que se ha estudiado primero el porcentaje de casos de acoso escolar y el ...estilo educativo familiar entre los participantes, así como la relación entre ambas variables. Se ha realizado un amplio estudio en la comunidad autónoma de La Rioja, a través de un cuestionario dirigido a 348 alumnos de la ESO, cuatro grupos de discusión con padres y alumnos de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) y entrevistas dirigidas a treinta profesionales de la educación. Los resultados muestran que la gran mayoría de las familias riojanas se relacionan con sus hijos de forma democrática, y a su vez, el porcentaje de acoso escolar en La Rioja es relativamente bajo. La conclusión principal es que los estilos democráticos parentales influyen altamente en el bajo porcentaje de acoso escolar, algo apoyado ampliamente por todos los participantes.

Participants were 4,168 parents from the Principality of Asturias (2,166 mothers and 2,002 fathers). Mean age for mothers was 39.50 years and 41.90 years for fathers. Following preliminary studies, we carried out exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) for mothers and for fathers separately.
Analysis of mothers' responses reveal an instrument comprising 15 items with a three factor-structure: warmth/affection, hostility/aggression and control. For fathers, the structure of the inventory gave a 23 item instrument with four factors: warmth/affection, hostility/aggression, indifference/neglect and control.
Overall, these results show that warmth/affection and control are the main dimensions in parental educational styles, and as hypothesized, mothers and fathers have different educational styles.
The current study aimed to get acquainted with the students’ point of view of the leadership styles practiced by the faculty members at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University" College of Education in ...Dammam as a model "and to know if there were differences in the response of female students to the fields of the study tool according to the difference in the study variables". The study adopted descriptive research, field analysis and a questionnaire consisting of "the autocratic style, democratic stratification, and the facilitative style" was developed distributed to a sample of (31%). The findings of the study showed that the general arithmetic mean for the responses of the sample members to the paragraphs that measure the prevailing leadership styles of the faculty members from the point of view of its students has come with an average degree of appreciation and the democratic style has ranked first, followed by the second autocratic style and finally the facilitative style. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the field of (democratic style) due to the age that female students from different age groups agree that faculty members practice a democratic style. Finally, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences between the values of the arithmetic mean for the responses of the sample members towards the questionnaires of the study tool according to the variable of the type of department on the tool as a whole. The study made several recommendations, including: Urging the faculty members to practice the democratic leadership style and to avoid the practice of the authoritarian leadership style.
Aims: The main goal of this study was to determine the characteristics of parents who sought help from two prevention programmes due to having an adolescent child who presents high-risk behaviours. ...Methods: The sample was composed of 374 parents (169 fathers and 205 mothers). Information on socio-demographic characteristics, psychopathological symptoms, emotional states, educational styles and maladjustment to everyday life was collected. Findings: The results show statistically differences by gender. Mothers obtained a higher degree of psychopathology symptoms, maladjustment and parental stress relative to fathers. Mothers also used more frequently authoritative and permissive parenting styles. In general, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles and stressful perceptions of the parental role are associated with more psychopathological symptoms and with maladjustment. Finally, the following variables predicted the severity of psychopathological symptoms: secondary education, maladjustment, stressful perceptions of the parental role and authoritarian and permissive parenting styles. Conclusions: This study highlights the need to assess the psychological problems of parents of adolescents with high-risk behaviours and to develop specific intervention programmes.
