The Kinect sensing devices have been widely used in current Human-Computer Interaction entertainment. A fundamental issue involved is to detect users' motions accurately and quickly. In this paper, ...we tackle it by proposing a linear algorithm, which is augmented by feature interaction. The linear property guarantees its speed whereas feature interaction captures the higher order effect from the data to enhance its accuracy. The Schatten-p norm is leveraged to integrate the main linear effect and the higher order nonlinear effect by mining the correlation between them. The resulted classification model is a desirable combination of speed and accuracy. We propose a novel solution to solve our objective function. Experiments are performed on three public Kinect-based entertainment data sets related to fitness and gaming. The results show that our method has its advantage for motion detection in a real-time Kinect entertaining environment.
IEEE 802.11ax-2019 will replace both IEEE 802.11n-2009 and IEEE 802.11ac-2013 as the next high-throughput WLAN amendment. In this article, we review the expected future WLAN scenarios and use cases ...that justify the push for a new PHY/MAC IEEE 802.11 amendment. After that, we overview a set of new technical features that may be included in the IEEE 802.11ax-2019 amendment, and describe both their advantages and drawbacks. Finally, we discuss some of the network-level functionalities that are required to fully improve the user experience in next-generation WLANs and note their relation with other ongoing IEEE 802.11 amendments.

Brain-Computer interfaces (BCIs) enhance the capability of human brain activities to interact with the environment. Recent advancements in technology and machine learning algorithms have increased ...interest in electroencephalographic (EEG)-based BCI applications. EEG-based intelligent BCI systems can facilitate continuous monitoring of fluctuations in human cognitive states under monotonous tasks, which is both beneficial for people in need of healthcare support and general researchers in different domain areas. In this review, we survey the recent literature on EEG signal sensing technologies and computational intelligence approaches in BCI applications, compensating for the gaps in the systematic summary of the past five years. Specifically, we first review the current status of BCI and signal sensing technologies for collecting reliable EEG signals. Then, we demonstrate state-of-the-art computational intelligence techniques, including fuzzy models and transfer learning in machine learning and deep learning algorithms, to detect, monitor, and maintain human cognitive states and task performance in prevalent applications. Finally, we present a couple of innovative BCI-inspired healthcare applications and discuss future research directions in EEG-based BCI research.
The aim of the current study is to assess how fans structure their fannish based on discussions about the insertion of political agendas in media products, which is a recurring behavior observed in ...the entertainment industry in recent times. Based on the analysis of Star Wars fan's interactions about the recent introduction of characters representing political identities in the saga, the study addressed the Foucauldian concept of subjectivation through the manifestation of truths, by adopting his archaeogenealogical method. Two moral agencies resulted from this analysis, namely: the innovation evaluated by Star Wars fans concerning the insertion of new representative characters in the saga and the adequacy such changes need to meet, although remaining in compliance with the established form of the saga canon. Both agencies reflect the concern with maintaining the franchise's status quo rather than with the political agenda. The current study has evaluated the courage to tell the truth as a cynical practice committed to perpetuate its own subjectivity by ruling other truths. Keywords: Fannish. Subjectivity. Cynicism. O objetivo do presente estudo e avaliar como os fas estruturam sua fanidade a partir de discussoes sobre a insercao de pautas politicas em produtos midiaticos, uma acao recorrente observada na industria do entretenimento nos ultimos tempos. A partir da analise das interacoes dos fas de Star Wars sobre a recente introducao de personagens que representam identidades politicas na saga, o estudo abordou o conceito foucaultiano de subjetivacao por meio da manifestacao de verdades, adotando seu metodo arqueogenealogico. Dessa analise resultaram dois agenciamentos morais, a saber: a inovacao avaliada pelos fas de Star Wars quanto a insercao de novos personagens representativos na saga e a adequacao que tais mudancas precisam atender, embora mantendo-se em conformidade com a forma estabelecida do canone da saga. Ambas as agencias refletem a preocupacao com a manutencao do status quo da franquia e nao com a agenda politica.
