This paper presents a new and innovative approach to assessing Vocational Education and Training (VET) organizations institutional sustainability in terms of five key pillars: institutional capacity, ...environmental, economic, social, and training provision. In the five areas of the proposed new and original sustainability assessment framework, a total of 40 performance indicators are used to make the assessment. The assessment process is based on a novel approach for the couple values for performance and importance of the indicators, by using scales from 1 to 5 for both. There are five performance categories (awareness, measures, action, innovation and excellence) and five importance categories for each indicator. The framework is innovative, both by its objective, which consists in impact determining and improvement on environmental, economic, social and quality of the training system and by development of a strategy based on performance indicators that integrates sustainable development. The implementation methodology is based on the newly developed framework and detailed application guidelines are provided. Exact results from a case study carried out and an analysis of the results for the environmental area are presented in order to validate the methodology in action. The results are used to establish a sustainability baseline, to identify possibilities for improvement, and to prioritize implementation.

In spite of fact that problem of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is very well known worldwide, it gets slowly into awareness in Slovakia. Nowadays more and more Slovak enterprises incorporate ...CSR principles into their practice and learn to profit from its implementation. This article based on the Carroll's three pillar CRS model, while the environmental pillar was selected as the most important one. On the sample of 58 Slovak enterprises we are verifying presence of a statistically significant effect of the legal form and number of employees (SME size category) on the implementation of environmental issues in the company. In the methodology we are using descriptive statistics, non-parametric methods (The Kruskal-Wallis Test, Jonckheere – Terpstra Test) and Crombach Alpha. The results of the analysis shows that the corporate legal form has no impact on the application of environmental policy, but there is an impact of the number or employees, respectively SME size category. Micro enterprises are not involved in the raising awareness on environmental policy and responsibility on the same extent as small companies. Similar differences between this two size groups we find in their extent of dealing with environmental research and development and protection of the natural environment.
The main objective of this paper is to analyze if there is a link between financial performance and sustainability in the case of listed companies on stock markets, worldwide, and across all sectors ...of activity because sustainability has become an important part of the company’s strategy. The financial performance of the companies was calculated using public financial data from the annual financial statements, while the environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and controversies scores were used as performance metrics for sustainability at company level. To evaluate financial performance a variety of indicators were used, such as assets management, debt management or market value performance, as a benchmark tool to compare the standing of companies in each sector of activity analyzed. Our findings showed that there are different relations (strong or weak) between financial performance and sustainability if a sectoral-based approach is considered. As a result, the link between financial performance and sustainability was tested on a sample of more than 5,000 companies divided into 10 sectors of activities, according to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS), for the period 2017-2021. This research aims to propose and validate research of a New Framework for integration of the concept of sustainability in projects by investigating the relationship between project and ...sustainability for project success. Integrating sustainability in projects is crucial metric for project success. However, the dearth in literature and the slow pace in emerging literature has left many issues unanswered regarding integration of sustainability in projects and the commitment of project teams to sustainability pillars. Therefore, this article explores the current state of sustainability, its potential weaknesses and therein proposes corrective action for the legitimatization of a New Framework on ‘project sustainability’ in an authentic environment. The methodological approach adopted in this research is a pragmatic examination of secondary data collected by the project team during a one-year period that demonstrates the effects of neglecting proactive management of the three pillars of sustainability resulting in poor project performance in terms of resources and stakeholder resistance, as well as the lessons learned therein. The findings reveals a low degree of commitment by project teams towards sustainability particularly with regard to social and environment pillars, even though the economic pillar has been given much attention, there is still much to be done. Hence, the importance of the proposed New Framework for project success. This research concludes and recommends the need to integrate sustainability adequately throughout a project life-cycle for the attainment of organizational strategy and satisfying stakeholders’ expectations. However, this can take place with a knowledgeable project management team on sustainability.
