This essay explores the relation between beauty and justice by turning to the thought of the Swiss Catholic theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar. It begins by giving an exposition of Balthasar's ...theological aesthetics, as developed in his work The glory of the Lord, which shows how, for Von Balthasar, earthly beauty participates in, and expresses something of God's divine glory and reaches its apex in the revelation of the beautiful form of Jesus Christ. This is then followed by an exposition of Von Balthasar's theological dramatics, as developed in his work Theo-drama, which shows how, for Von Balthasar, this beautiful form of Christ is not merely a static image, icon, or artwork but, in fact, a dynamic event, a dramatic act, an embodied performance which reveals to us, along with God's glory and beauty, God's unbounded goodness. The essay subsequently turns to questions of justice (in light of Von Balthasar's understanding of the relation between beauty and goodness), and ultimately argues that, according to Von Balthasar's thought, justice can be viewed as a form of beauty-in-action that asks to be performed in the world.
Artikel ini mendeskripsikan nilai estetika dari teknik gerak bunga tembak jipuk dari segi wujud, isi, dan penampilan estetik. Bunga tembak jipuk merupakan jurus seni bela diri Kuntau yang menjadi ...ciri khas pada Pukulan Patikaman Silat Kuntau Borneo Banjarmasin. Di dalamnya terdapat 16 bentuk teknik gerak bela diri yang bersifat gabungan, yaitu teknik pukulan, tangkisan, tangkapan, dan tendangan. Pada setiap teknik tersebut memiliki makna, fungsi, serta nilai keindahan. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis secara spesifik dalam mendapatkan gambaran objek estetik yang diteliti. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, serta analisis dokumen. Keabsahan data penelitian ini diuji melalui triangulasi sumber. Bunga tembak jipuk is a Kuntau martial art move that is the hallmark of the Pukulan Patikaman Silat Kuntau Borneo Banjarmasin. In it there are 16 forms of combined martial motion techniques, namely punch, parry, catch, and kick techniques. Each of these techniques has meaning, function, and beauty value. This research is a descriptive qualitative type with a specific analysis in obtaining a description of the aesthetic object under study. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews, and document analysis. The validity of this research data was tested through triangulation of sources. straipsnis ir santrauka lietuvių kalba; santrauka anglų kalba Straipsnio tikslas – atskleisti formalizmo ir fenomenologijos sąryšius Vosyliaus Sezemano estetikoje. Sezemanas estetikai skirtuose ...straipsniuose „Estetinis vertinimas meno istorijoje“ (1922), „Poetinio vaizdo prigimtis“ (1925), „Menas ir kultūra“ (1927) polemizavo su formalistine meno samprata. Tačiau išsamiausiai formalistinės meno sampratos kritika yra atskleista „Estetikoje“ (1970), nuodugniai pristatant estetinės struktūros sampratą. Šiame straipsnyje autorius pirmiausia analizuoja svarbiausius formalistinės meno istorijos bruožus, o tada nagrinėja, kaip Sezemanas meninės formos konceptą transformuoja į estetinės struktūros sampratą. Formalistinė meno analizė atveda nuo grynai autonomiškos formos prie stiliaus, kuris yra siejamas su bendruomenišku buvimu pasaulyje. Regimo vaizdo aspektų analizė parodo, kad regimumas turi būti susietas su regėjimu ir jo nuostatomis. Sezemanas atsisako dualistinės juslinės medžiagos ir inteligibilios formos perskyros ir vietoj jos siūlo estetinės struktūros sampratą. Jis atskleidžia juslinės estetinio objekto struktūros sąryšį su patiriančiuoju subjektu. Estetinė vertybė gali būti atveriama kaip reikšminga tik dalyvaujant subjektui ir turint reikiamą kontempliatyvią nuostatą. Meno analizė turi apimti ne tik individualią objekto išraiškos struktūrų, bet ir suvokimo ir jo nuostatų fenomenologinę analizę. Formalizmo ir fenomenologijos derinys būdingas visiems Sezemano estetikos lygmenims. Struktūrinė analizė atskleidžia meno kūrėjo, meno kūrinio ir meno suvokėjo sisteminį sąryšingumą.
Straipsnyje aptariama, kaip Xu Fuguan interpretuoja keletą pagrindinių Zuangzi estetinės minties sąvokų. Xu nuomone, Zhuangzi estetinė mintis susijusi su estetiniu žmogaus gyvenimo būdu, kur grožis ...taikomas dao sričiai, kurioje žmonės gali išlaisvinti savo sielą ir džiaugtis „laisvu ir lengvu klajojimu“ (xiaoyaoyou 逍遙遊). Pasak Xu, tai yra aukščiausia ir gražiausia žmogaus egzistencijos sfera, įgaunanti išraišką mene. Zhuangzi sąvokas xinzhai心齋 ir zuowang 坐忘, kaip šio aukščiausio būties lygmens pasiekimo metodą, Xu laikė panašiomis į kai kurias XIX ir XX a. Vakarų fenomenologijos sąvokas. Nors Xu stengėsi atsargiai vesti paraleles tarp Vakarų filosofijos ir Zhuangzi mąstymo, jis manė esant jų panašumų, ypač klausimu, kodėl žmogaus sąmonė gali estetiškai suvokti pasaulį. Šio straipsnio tikslas yra atskleisti tokios lyginamosios prieigos, glūdinčios Xu estetinėje mintyje, metodologinius keblumus ir prieštaravimus.
Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menyanggah argumentasi Roger Scruton mengenai keabsahan nilai seni dari sebuah foto. Scruton berpendapat bahwa fotografi bukanlah karya seni. Fotografi hanyalah sebuah ...tindakan mekanis dalam menghasilkan suatu gambar, bukan representasi melainkan hanyalah peristiwa kausal, bukan gambaran imajinasi, tetapi hanya kopian. Fotografi mengandaikan adanya kemudahan dalam penciptaan seni. Pernyataan Scruton semakin dikuatkan dengan fenomena perkembangan teknologi yang sudah melupakan sisi estetis dan hanya berpasrah sepenuhnya pada tindakan mesin. Penekanan berlebihan terhadap keunggulan reduplikasi, proses instan, dan otomatisasi fotografi membuat fotografi kehilangan tempatnya di dunia seni. Akan tetapi, persoalan seni adalah persoalan rasa. Fotografi tetaplah sebuah seni dengan melihat adanya relasi intensional yang tercipta antara objek dan seorang fotografer dalam sebuah foto. Relasi intensional ini tercermin dalam proses, imajinasi, dan kreativitas fotografer di dalam menghasilkan sebuah foto. Lukisan dan fotografi adalah seni menurut rasanya masing-masing. Photography is an Art: A Disaproval towards Roger Scruton's Analysis on the Legitimacy of Art Value of a Photograph. This paper aims to disprove Roger Scruton's argument about the validity of the artistic value of a photograph. Scruton argues that photography is not a work of art. Photography is simply a mechanical action in producing a picture, not a representation but merely a causal event, not an imaginary image, but only a copy. Photography presupposes the ease of art creation. Scruton's statement is further reinforced by the phenomenon of technological development that has forgotten the aesthetic side and only entirely devoted to the action of the machine. The excessive emphasis on the benefits of reduplication, instant processing, and photographic automation makes photography lose its place in the art world. However, the issue of art is a matter of taste. Photography remains an art by seeing the intense relationships created between an object and a photographer in a photograph. This intense relationship is reflected in the process, imagination, and creativity of the photographer in producing a photograph. Painting and photography are arts according to their own taste.
Članek se ukvarja s Xu Fuguanovo analizo in interpretacijo nekaterih osrednjih konceptov Zhuangzijeve filozofije, ki predstavljajo njegovo estetiko. Po Xuju se Zhuangzijeva estetika nanaša na ...estetski način bivanja človeka, pri čemer se lepota aplicira v sfero daota, v kateri so ljudje zmožni osvoboditi svojega duha in uživati način življenja, ki ga Zhuangzi označuje kot »svobodno in lahkotno tavanje« (xiaoyaoyou 逍遙遊). Po Xujevem mnenju je to najvišja in najlepša sfera človeškega bivanja in je kot taka izražena v umetnosti. Xu je v Zhuangzijevih konceptih postenja srčne zavesti (xinzhai 心齋) in sedenja v pozabi (zuowang 坐忘) kot dveh metodah za doseganje tega najvišjega nivoja bivanja videl nekatere podobnosti z določenimi koncepti zahodne fenomenologije devetnajstega in zgodnjega dvajsetega stoletja. Čeprav je bil Xu Fuguan pri orisu vzporednic med zahodno in Zhuangzijevo filozofijo zelo previden, je bil mnenja, da med njimi obstaja določena podobnost, še posebej pri vprašanju, zakaj in na kakšen način je človeška zavest (oziroma srčna zavest) zmožna dojemati svet estetsko. Članek želi pokazati nekatere metodološke probleme in nekonsistentnosti Xu Fuguanovega komparativnega pristopa, ki je temelj njegove teorije estetike.

Our time has seen the end of the “big narrative”, the era in which there are no reliable criteria, making it difficult to establish what can and cannot be considered art. Phenomenology has conveyed ...very clear views on this matter. Its most prominent representatives draw attention even nowadays. Can philosophies that use the phenomenological method offer answers on the nature of the arts, what art is, and its essence? The author claims that this is still possible, but with the realisation regarding different aesthetic experiences and the new historical and social situation.

Gringsing The name of Gringsing is explained in popular etymology asmeaning free from sickness, which is in itself enough to indicate that the cloths are honoured ...by the people becauseof their magic infl uence. The origin of the gringsing cloths is traced back to Dewa Indra, who created shadowsin the sky so that they could be copied as pattern in the cloths. As was pointed out, the weaving of the gringsing,a sacred activity for the women. The weaving women have to take a number of adat regulations into account.Throughout Bali weavers are srict in following the adat. In he village of Tenganan Pegringsingan itself the use ofcertain gringsings is prescribed for specifi ed ceremonies. Tenganan Pegringsingan community perform religiousrites everyday to maintain the balance of the village. Tenganan Pegringsingan has unique culture, and all refer tothe concept of balance. The most famous ritual activities in Tenganan Pegringsingan is Pandanus War. In PandanusWar, gringsing always used by Truna and Daha. They believe in using gringsing, they will be spared from disease.Gringsing present in Tenganan Pegringsingan bringing myths and aesthetics.
