Bamboo is a natural material with the potential for being used in sustainable construction. However, uncertainty in the bearing capacity of the bamboo results in nonstandard values for structural ...engineering design. This research studied the simple and multiple linear regression analyses for indicating properties to predict the axial compressive load capacity and strength of bamboo culms, which will be useful information for quality control during building construction and further structural grading. First, twelve basic physical properties were measured from 111 samples of Dendrocalamus sericeus Munro bamboo culms, and axial compressive load tests of the bamboo culms were performed. Then, the correlation significance of the physical properties to axial load capacity and strength (load per area) were analyzed by the Pearson correlation method. The results show that five parameters, i.e., linear mass, culm wall thickness, external diameter, moisture content, and density, were statistically significant with the responses (compressive load capacity and compressive strength) and then defined as "candidates for indicating properties". Next, simple linear and multiple linear regression were analyzed to formulate the relationship between the significant indicating properties and the responses. From the simple linear regression analysis, linear mass can be best used as an indicating property for predicting the maximum compressive load. The maximum compressive strength was well associated with density. The multiple linear regression analysis shows an improvement in the response predictions with respect to the simple linear regression analysis with the higher Rsup.2-values. Finally, structural grading of the bamboo is determined.
A commercial three-layer particleboard served as model furniture for testing pretreatment with the oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) P. Kumm.) over 9-, 12-, 16-, and 20-week periods based ...on the effects of reducing the enzymatic resistance of component cellulose. The effects of pretreatment were assessed based on Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) of the treated particleboards, wherein indexes (peaks and peak ratios) connected with parameters influencing enzymatic cellulose hydrolysis were analysed. The data were analysed in two ways: the measurement of peak heights in both primary spectra and deconvoluted spectra. The peak heights for the determination of the total crystallinity index (TCI) were measured according to narrow and broad baselines. Time and how indexes are calculated were found to be the main factors significantly influencing the values of indexes of pretreatment in most cases. Until week 9, P. ostreatus pretreatment seems to be advantageous for biofuel production, which was illustrated by decreases in the intensity of the 1735 and 1505 cmsup.−1 peaks and Asub.1505/Asub.1735, Asub.1505/Asub.1375, Asub.1505/Asub.1158, and Asub.1505/Asub.896 ratios in addition to a reduction in crystallinity.

To show the usefulness of software and digital tools in improving the business processes towards their management. 3. To suggest recommendations to improve management of the processes in furniture companies. The study is performed in 71 of the planned 100 furniture companies, who have returned answers to the questions in full. The sample included enterprises, members of the Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Enterprises (BCWFE). Data is analyzed as total as well as by individual groups including comparative analyses. The analysis is made between the results obtained from the individual firms in the sample along with analyzing the overall survey results. Comparative analysis is used to display the steps and tendencies characterizing the applicability of the methodology Business Process Management (BPM) to improve the management of business processes in organizations from the furniture industry.
The present research aims to analyze the effect of contextual factors affecting the application of artificial intelligence technology in employee recruitment in the furniture industry of Iran, which ...is a practical purpose and has been carried out in a descriptive-surveillance manner, to find out the reasons, facilitators and limitations of its use with the presented conceptual model. Make this technology understandable to organizations during employee recruitment. To measure and analyze the effect of these factors, a questionnaire was used as an information-gathering tool, which was given to 250 senior managers and middle managers of companies active in the furniture industry of Iran. The results of the analysis of the information obtained in two descriptive and inferential parts, according to the data analysis algorithm in the method of structural equations and Smart PLS software, confirmed the hypotheses of the research and showed that the effective background factors include: technological factors, organizational and environmental have a positive and significant effect on the use of Artificial intelligence in the furniture industry in Iran, and the use of artificial intelligence as a competitive advantage improves the organizational capabilities of recruitment and recruitment (based on data, process, staff) in the furniture industry. Forgives. Also, it makes it easier to carry out “blind” Recruitment of employees processes and review frequent applications, and by simplifying the application analysis process through applicant tracking systems, it can save time and money in human resources processes and reduce discrimination in choices.
The paper aims to determine the effects of some economic, psychological and sociological motivators on motivation levels of employees in furniture industry companies depending on some ...socio-demographic characteristics. In order to measure their motivation levels, a questionnaire was applied to 100 people working in enterprises that employ 10 or more people, which are thought to apply a motivation system in the Furniture Manufacturers Site in Ankara. The obtained data were processed using package programs for statistical analysis and the data were evaluated. According to the results: The type of production was not effective on employee motivation. While increasing occupational health and safety and giving more responsibility provided more motivation for male employees, the openness of career paths was more effective for female employees. The effect of both factors that "job assurance" and "independent work and performance feedback" effects on employee performance increased as the working time of employees in the current workplace increased.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) plays a crucial role in sustainability evaluations and impact assessments, especially in the realm of eco-design and environmentally friendly manufacturing in the ...furniture sector. However, the existing research tends to focus on specific stages of the furniture life cycle and leaves a substantial portion of the environmental impact unaddressed, including resource consumption, waste generation, and emissions throughout the entire value chain. This research presents a comprehensive LCA of the production and distribution process of a Pinewood Table, aiming to evaluate and improve its environmental sustainability. Six different production and distribution models were analyzed, including a base model strategy and five alternative strategies incorporating various sustainable policies. The study assessed the environmental impacts at each stage, considering resource consumption, emissions, and waste generation. Additionally, a cost analysis was conducted to identify the most economically viable sustainable option among the alternative strategies. Among the six production and distribution models studied, Alternative Strategy 5 demonstrates the lowest Climate Change CO2 equivalent emissions, with Alternative Strategy 2 following closely. This outcome underscores the importance of reducing forklift usage and transitioning to photovoltaic cells, resulting in a 50 % reduction in carbon emissions during CNC machining processes. Results also indicated that the collaborated strategy exhibited the highest reduction in Climate Change CO2 eq which is 65.4 %, highlighting the significance of reducing forklift usage and transitioning to photovoltaic cells for electricity generation. Finally, a sustainable option where all the strategies were collaborated is recommended for practitioners, emphasizing the significance of implementing eco-friendly practices to enhance the overall sustainability of pinewood table production and distribution. This research contributes to literature by providing essential information and guidance for industry stakeholders and policymakers to make informed decision-making and promote sustainable practices within the furniture manufacturing sector.
