City skyline is an element of the cityscape, but makes a whole image of the city. This study is to develop the new way of express city skyline with notes of music. After drawing some city skyline with ...photoes was drawned, pitch and length of tone was measured and transfferred to notes. Through this study, it came out to be possible to note skyline, remaining features which some of the buildings have a characteristic figure of skyline. Skyline seems to consist several pitch and length of line without meanings. With this method of note, it is possibled find the meaning of composition of skyline and compare between cities big and small in one measurement.
From the analysis of sounds, a detailed explanation is given for one of the basic principles in Western music: the concept of octave and its division into 12 parts. In other words, it is explained ...why we use 12 notes for writing music.

From the analysis of sounds, the 7 notes composing a major key and its corresponding major scale are obtained in a reasoned way. These concepts represent one of the basic principles in Western music. ...This way, it is explained why there are only 7 names for the 12 musical notes.

Research about the relationship between the acute alcohol ingestion and visual and auditory changes features applicability in issues related to everyday activities, such as orientation and mobility ...in transit and may favor the investigations about the influence of alcohol in the central nervous system (CNS) and on visual perception. However, even though it is known that the sensorial–perceptual system is affected by acute alcohol ingestion, the degree of impairment particularly of visual functions and the underlying neurobiological mechanisms involved are not well understood yet. This chapter presents the main studies and research results related to acute alcohol ingestion and its effects on visual perception and hearing developed at the Laboratory of Perception, Neuroscience, and Behavior—LPNeC/Brazil since mid-2000s. The results indicate that alcohol promotes a diffuse alteration in the CNS and a possible association with the reduction of lateral inhibition mechanism activity.
Set against a monochrome backdrop with musical notes painted on it, the conductor of an orchestra performs all kinds of magic tricks, making musicians from her band appear inside the notes on the ...musical score in the background. This film forms part of what is known as 'cinema of attractions', successor to the popular shows of the late nineteenth century. Beyond a simple narrative, the film seeks to astound and amaze the audience through a series of visual tricks: transformations, overlays, substitutions and reverse motion, among other effects.
This chapter explains the long history through the ages (and therefore through the civilizations) which has led to the generation of musical notes and the definition of their frequencies. There is a ...very close relationship between physics and music. The chapter begins with the concept of an octave. For centuries, every individual, every people, every civilization, every era has made its own small contribution to the work of creating and organizing the creation of the different frequencies that can be inserted within that famous “reference” octave. The generation of so‐called “perfect fifth” notes or the “Pythagorean” scale can be constructed in two possible ways: with the “ascending fifth” or the “descending fifth”. The chapter presents the comparison of gaps which shows the relative positions, note by note, of each of the notes depending on the mode of their generation.
