Mobile payment (MP) is a key tool for establishing a cashless society. To comprehensively examine the critical factors (CFs) that influence the introduction of MP tools by microretailers (MRs) in ...Taiwan, this study employed the technology–organization–environment model as a theoretical basis. Two multicriteria decision-making tools (i.e., the analytic network process and Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija Kompromisno Resenje concept of acceptable advantage) were combined to objectively identify the CFs influencing MRs’ introduction of MP tools. The results indicate that technology is more essential than organization and environment, and the eight identified CFs are security/trust, compatibility, usability, stability, complexity, organizational scale, government support, and information maturity. These CFs and the hybrid method form the basis for the findings and academic contributions of this study. The results serve as incisive and practical guidelines that can help MRs to introduce MP tools, encourage MP use by consumers, and promote the establishment of a cashless society.
Although wetland environmental protection plans are synonymous with wetland management and erosion control plans, the public perceptions of such plans often focus on their impact on the human ...enjoyment of wetland areas. These plans are affected by many interrelated influence factors, such as human welfare, property, safety, management, operations, maintenance, ecology, environment, artificial structures, climate control, and sustainable development. The purpose of this paper is to probe how to use qualitative and quantitative measurements of wetland environments to create plan indexes using criteria/attributes as well as how to help these indexes for achieving the aspiration levels in each criterion/attribute. Previous studies that attempted to measure environmental evaluations and plans have assumed that these criteria are independent, but this assumption does not hold in real-world applications of real problems. Therefore, in this proof-of-concept study, using an empirical exam among various attributes and to measure and evaluate the real conditions for improving the wetland environmental problems. A DEMATEL technique can be used to construct the INRM, the basic concept of an ANP was modified to determine the influential weights of criteria/dimensions in our research alternative, called DANP (DEMATEL-based ANP). Then we can construct a decision-making model via a hybrid modified VIKOR method to improve wetlands environmental management manager strategy formulation in performance evaluation toward for achieving the aspiration level. Using these techniques, a proposed model appeared, which can be used to explain interdependence and feedback problems. Based on the final results, we can also propose a gap improvement in the development of a sustainable development plan for the environment while taking comfort and safety into account to improve standards and achieve human welfare expectations.
•We have developed a comprehensive model for achieving sustainable wetland environmental protection.•This new approach can provide a gap for sustainable development.•The sustainability plan takes into account the comfort and safety that humans expect.•Reducing flooding is a key goal for sustainable wetland development.•The method results are very accurate and represents other methods.
•A three-stage model, which incorporates BWM, DEMATEL and VIKOR, is developed.•The three-stage model is reliable and robust.•BWD method, which combines the advantages of BWM and DEMATEL, is ...proposed.•Perceived health risk-free is the most influential criterion for local residents’ acceptance.
Incineration is an efficient and economical means of solid waste disposal. And local residents’ acceptance has to be acquired for the smooth going of waste-to-energy incineration project (WTEIP). From a Chinese perspective, this paper finds what influence local residents’ acceptance towards WTEIP under construction, based on which we rank WTEIPs and figure out the project with the least local residents’ acceptance. To achieve this, a three-stage model is developed. Stage 1 involves identifying the criteria based on the expert judgement for local residents’ acceptance towards WTEIP under construction. Stage 2 involves the criteria weights determination employing Best Worst-Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (BWD). BWD incorporates Best Worst Method and Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory which is intended to take the interrelationships among the criteria into account. Stage 3 involves project ranking according to the criteria weights determined by BWD. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to check the effectiveness and robustness of the three-stage model. Results show that perceived risk-free is the most influential criterion of local residents’ acceptance towards WTEIP under construction and the three-stage model is reliable and robust. The study is helpful to enhance local residents’ acceptance towards WTEIP under construction and provide important reference for decision-makers and policymakers in waste management.
This study aims to extend classic VIKOR technique for multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems within Pythagorean fuzzy (PF) scenario. First, judgments from decision makers (DMs) are expressed ...by PF sets that can describe more uncertain and ambiguous information than available fuzzy sets. Second, PF point operators are applied to denote the risk preference of the DM who may express an attitude toward an emerging science and technology. Third, a new generalized distance measurement formula considering all the characteristics of PF sets is proposed, and some attractive properties of distance measure, which outperforms available distance measures, are proved. Fourth, the novel generalized distance measure is employed to relative distance to identify the optimum and worst PF values and then employed in

-metric VIKOR formula to accurately gain the group utility, individual regret, and compromise index. The novel PF-VIKOR algorithm considering DM’s risk preference and a novel distance measure is described in detail, and a blockchain technology solution selection problem is utilized to validate the feasibility of our technique. Then, the sensitivity analysis is implemented to test stability of our PF-VIKOR technique when the parameters in risk preferences and generalized distance measure are adjusted. Fifth, the comparison among various PF-MCDM techniques is performed to validate superiority and practicability of our presented technique.
Electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) site selection occupies a prominent position in the development of the electric community to solve the hard problem of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging. ...However, two critical issues have not been solved by the existing research. Firstly, the scope of EVCS site selection only considers the whole city, which deviates from the actual situation. Secondly, the uncertainty and hesitation of decision information is not well expressed. To handle the above problems, this paper builds a comprehensive EVCS site selection decision framework for Residential Communities (EVCSRC) with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs). First of all, the distinctive index system of EVCSRC site selection factors including economy, social, environment, planning and feature portrait of residential communities is established. Then, the TIFNs is utilized for decision makers (DMs) to express the indeterminate information. Furthermore, a fuzzy Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (Fuzzy-VIKOR) is approach is utilized to rank the alternative EVCSRC sites. Finally, a case of Beijing is studied to demonstrate the validity of the proposed site selection framework. The result shows the EVCSRC site located at Sijiqing community in Haidian district should be selected as the optimal site. This paper presents a feasible and easy-to-use decision-making framework for investors.
This study proposes a framework that contains four dimensions (environment, economy, socio-cultural, and technology) and nine relevant criteria for evaluating smart office buildings through a hybrid ...multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) model. A Taiwanese case study of the silver-level label office building is evaluated within this study. Using the Decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) (di + ri = central degree, di-ri = cause degree) this study reveals that the core dimension for evaluating smart office buildings more sustainable is the technological dimension (D4) (34.007, 0.967), followed by the economic dimension (D2) (38.725, 0.175) and the socio-cultural dimension (D3) (37.743, 0.047); improvements to these three dimensions drives the environmental dimension (D1) (48.694, −1.190). In terms of the criteria, automation (C8) (19.328, 0.587), interactivity (C9) (14.679, 0.380), waste management (C3) (13.884, 0.300), architectural innovation (C7) (18.882, 0.226) and affordability (C4) (19.070, 0.201) are five critical criteria. Although the performance of the Taiwanese case study is, in terms of its sustainability, acceptable (Total performance = 9.530 and the gap ratio to aspiration level = 0.046) based on the modified VlseKriterjumska Optimizacija i Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR), there is still room for further improvements to be made in terms of sustainability.
•A model of hybrid MADM is constructed to evaluate the smart office buildings from a sustainability perspective.•Four dimensions of environment, economy, socio-cultural, and technology, and relevant nine criteria are included.•The DEMATEL and DANP reveal the Technological dimension (D4) as the core dimension.•Five core criteria with cause positioning are highlighted for the evaluation of recommendations.•The modified VIKOR suggest further improvement strategies for case although sustainable performance is acceptable.
► We weight the performance indices based on the official performance evaluation structure of TWAEA. ► We apply a hybrid multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model. ► We also compare the official ...rankings of the 12 private universities with our results. ► We endeavor to help universities optimize their performances with efficiency.
The aims of this study are to weight the performance evaluation indices for higher education based on the official performance evaluation structure developed by the Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA) and to rank 12 private universities listed by the Ministry of Education as a case study. We apply a hybrid multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model to accomplish these objectives. Specifically, we utilize the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to accomplish the first aim, but we adopt the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method for the second aim by utilizing the AHP outcome. We also compare the official rankings of the 12 private universities with our ranking of the same universities. Our study endeavors to help universities optimize their performances with efficiency. In addition, the results of this study could provide a reference point for other universities and related educational institutions in their efforts to conduct evaluations, improve their performances and form educational policies.
Due to the occurrence of several recent threats, such as, from an international perspective, SARS, the 9/11 terrorist attack, increases in the price of oil, depressions in the economy, and, from a ...domestic perspective, increasing interaction with China, joining the WTO, low railway prices, and high-speed rail development, resulting in passenger rate dropping drastically, an increasing number of Taiwanese airlines have been facing deficits or closing down in recent years. Therefore, long-term strategies for gaining a competitive advantage are now starting to focus on innovation rather than cost reduction. Although attention to the importance of innovation is rising, there are few studies today that provide airlines with a clear and precise way to successfully conduct innovation operations. The aim of this study is to solve this dilemma by constructing a novel aviatic innovation system (AIS). In this paper, a hybrid fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) model based on a fuzzy analytical hierarchical process (FAHP) and a VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) is adopted to complete the construction of the AIS. The value of the AIS is to provide Taiwanese airlines with innovation-oriented techniques for future strategy development. We believe that the AIS can contribute to the survival of Taiwanese airlines in the near future.
Despite the increasing demand for sustainable development among Certified Public Accountant firms due to the more severe competitive environment, there is a dearth of research on a sustainability ...performance evaluation model for these firms' managerial decision-making. Therefore, by utilizing a multiple criteria decision-making model based on the Balanced Scorecard and combining Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory with Analytic Network Process and modified VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje methods, this study sets up a model that can clarify the mutually influential relationships and comment weights of evaluation criteria, which have so far been ignored in prior studies on Certified Public Accountan firms' performances and the current situation of their sustainability performance. Based on interviews with partners of Taiwanese Certified Public Accountant firms, this paper finds that Client is the most important factor, followed by Internal processes, Learning and growth, and then Finance. The empirical result shows that client orientation rather than price-cutting may be a right strategy. In addition, more efforts are needed to improve Taiwanese Certified Public Accountant firms' sustainability performance. The results provide Certified Public Accountant firms’ decision-makers with a managerial reference for building sustainability performance evaluation systems and for seeking out the priorities in sustainability performance strategies.

One of the key management activities in a manufacturing company is managing its business resultbased on timely and accurate business information. In carrying out this activity, management shouldmonitor the movement of realized profits, which it compares with the planned profit. The problemarises if the realized profit is less than the planned profit, and this deviation is not within the allowedvalues. Therefore, the aim of the research in this paper is to set and develop a Profit Optimization Modelin a Production Company that will provide management with information on maximum profit basedon optimized product sales range, considering all available production resources and market salesopportunities. The process of data transformation in the model takes place in five interconnected steps.Special mention should be made of the third and fifth steps in which the procedures for optimizingthe profit by linear programming methods are carried out, noting that in the fifth step the procedureof optimizing the profit with the modified goal function is carried out.
