Manipulation of magnetization by electric‐current‐induced spin–orbit torque (SOT) is of great importance for spintronic applications because of its merits in energy‐efficient and high‐speed ...operation. An ideal material for SOT applications should possess high charge‐spin conversion efficiency and high electrical conductivity. Recently, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) emerge as intriguing platforms for SOT study because of their controllability in spin–orbit coupling, conductivity, and energy band topology. Although TMDs show great potentials in SOT applications, the present study is restricted to the mechanically exfoliated samples with small sizes and relatively low conductivities. Here, a manufacturable recipe is developed to fabricate large‐area thin films of PtTe2, a type‐II Dirac semimetal, to study their capability of generating SOT. Large SOT efficiency together with high conductivity results in a giant spin Hall conductivity of PtTe2 thin films, which is the largest value among the presently reported TMDs. It is further demonstrated that the SOT from PtTe2 layer can switch a perpendicularly magnetized CoTb layer efficiently. This work paves the way for employing PtTe2‐like TMDs for wafer‐scale spintronic device applications.
PtTe2, a layered type‐II Dirac semimetal, is successfully synthesized in a scalable and controllable manner. High spin–orbit torque and large spin Hall conductivity are found in these PtTe2 thin films, which manifest the potential of PtTe2 thin film for energy‐efficient magnetization switching. The experiments establish a primary basis for further research on similar systems for high‐performance spintronic devices.
Nos primeiros anos do século XIX, projetos de defesa e expansão de fronteiras foram elaborados por agentes do governo e particulares nos limites entre o vice-reino do Brasil e o vice-reino do Prata. ...Eles foram empreendidos tendo em vista a participação indígena junto aos serviços militares e a utilização de sua mão de obra e conhecimentos sobre o território e nas lidas com o gado. Uma das principais questões em jogo era a reorganização política de espaços limítrofes vinculada à necessidade de definir aspectos sobre a liberdade dos índios e o destino de suas terras e bens. Espalhados em distintos arquivos, registros de cunho administrativo, legislativo e militar evidenciam aspectos importantes sobre o processo histórico de formação dos Estados argentino, brasileiro e uruguaio. Os vínculos políticos e identidades profissionais forjados pelos indígenas revelam estratégias desenvolvidas com o objetivo de sobreviver física e culturalmente em um contexto de profundas transformações sociais.
RESUMO O presente artigo analisa a inserção da capitania/província de Santa Catarina no contexto platino durante o processo de independência do Brasil, marcadamente entre a chegada da família real e ...a primeira metade da década de 1820. O argumento desenvolvido é o de que existiu um bloco regional de províncias, sustentado por similaridades sociais, econômicas e políticas que interligavam o destino das diferentes unidades políticas provinciais no sul da América portuguesa. Frisa-se que Santa Catarina sentiu os reflexos das contendas luso-americanas ao sul do continente americano, que acabaram por criar uma dinâmica específica de circulação de pessoas e de informações nas áreas quase intermitentemente em disputa. Para isso, foram consultados documentos oficiais, bem como memórias e outros documentos oficiosos que permitem uma abordagem do processo de independência brasileira a partir do viés da História Militar.
Constituiu objetivo da pesquisa em identificar e caracterizar abordagens em livros didáticos de História do Brasil em relação à presença brasileira na região platina, na segunda metade do século XIX. ...Foi selecionado um total de 13 livros didáticos de diferentes temporalidades, compreendendo o período de 1886 a 1999. A seleção dos livros observou critérios como possuir inúmeras edições, ter sido adotado por escolas das redes de ensino da educação básica e o lugar socioinstitucional dos autores. A análise das fontes se fez por meio da técnica da análise de conteúdo. Caracterizamos três conjuntos de autores com concepções diversas. Apesar disso, foram observadas permanências nas narrativas dos livros analisados, como a do Império brasileiro como garantidor da independência do Uruguai.
Abstract
Platina play a crucial role in catalytic converter device as one of catalyst that convert toxic gases in the exhaust gas emission to less toxic gas pollutant. The performance of this device ...can be significantly elevated by implementing platina nanoparticles (Pt NPs) because catalytic performance can be increased by decreasing its particles size. However, nanoparticles are not stable and tend to agglomerate, thus prohibit formation of nano particles. In this context, utilization of cellulose nano crystals (CNCs) in fabrication of Pt NPs are attractive due to their ability to encourage nucleation and prevent agglomeration of nanoparticles. In this study, Pt NPs was prepared by reduction of H2PtCl6 solution at various temperature (25, 33 and 40 °C) with the presence of CNCs. Based on visual observation, darker precipitate was observed by increasing temperature. Further characterization using UV-Vis spectroscopy showed that about 90% of Pt
4
+ in solution were successfully convert to dark particles at 40 °C. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) revealed that the dark particles in sample is Pt NPs with particles size 16.5 ± 3.2 nm.
Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the banana cultivars for their agronomic yield and starch characteristics. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design, ...with a factorial arrangement of two cultivars ('BRS Conquista' and 'BRS Platina') and two crop cycles, with three plants per treatment, and five replicates. Fruit yield and starch quality were evaluated. 'BRS Conquista' showed smaller fruit; however, it had a greater marketable bunch weight and yield than 'BRS Platina'. Starches differed for the main physicochemical characteristics, except for X-ray diffraction pattern (B type) and phosphorus content (0.0058–0.0060%). 'BRS Platina' stood out for its higher content of resistant starch (74.55%) that differed from the starch isolated from 'BRS Conquista'. However, the starch of 'BRS Conquista' showed the following characteristics: larger granules (34.74 µm), with greater crystallinity (33.64%); less swelling power and solubility (26.77 g g-1 and 19.21%, respectively); and greater breakdown, setback and final viscosity (67.06, 182.42, and 341.39 RVU, respectively). 'BRS Conquista' shows favorable production characteristics for processing to obtain starch. The higher resistant starch content of 'BRS Platina' may commercially justify its lower agronomic yield. Starches of the two cultivars show desirable characteristics for different industrial applications.
Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar cultivares de bananeira quanto aos seus rendimentos agronômicos e características de amido. O experimento foi realizado em blocos ao acaso, com arranjo fatorial de duas cultivares ('BRS Conquista' e 'BRS Platina') e dois ciclos da cultura, com três plantas por tratamento e cinco repetições. Avaliaram-se a produção e a qualidade do amido dos frutos. 'BRS Conquista' apresentou frutos menores; no entanto, mostrou maior massa comercial e produtividade do cacho do que 'BRS Platina'. Os amidos diferiram quanto às principais características físico-químicas, exceto quanto ao padrão de difração de raios X (tipo B) e teor de fósforo (0,0058–0,0060%). 'BRS Platina' destacou-se por seu maior teor de amido resistente (74,55%) que diferiu do amido isolado de 'BRS Conquista'. No entanto, o amido de 'BRS Conquista' apresentou as seguintes características: grânulos maiores (34,74 µm), com maior cristalinidade (33,64%); menor poder de inchamento e solubilidade (26,77 g g-1 e 19,21%, respectivamente); e maiores quebra de viscosidade, tendência à retrogradação e viscosidade final (67,06, 182,42 e 341,39 RVU, respectivamente). 'BRS Conquista' mostra características de produção favoráveis ao processamento para extração de amido. O maior teor de amido resistente de 'BRS Platina' pode justificar comercialmente sua menor produção agronômica. Os amidos das duas cultivares apresentam características desejáveis para aplicações industriais diversas.
Carboplatin is a derivative of cisplatin; it has a similar mechanism of action, but differs in terms of structure and toxicity. It was approved by the FDA in the 1980s and since then it has been ...widely used in the treatment of several tumor types. This agent is characterized by its ability to generate lesions in DNA through the formation of adducts with platinum, thereby inhibiting replication and transcription and leading to cell death. However, its use can lead to serious inconvenience arising from the development of resistance that some patients acquire during treatment, limiting the scope of its full potential. Currently, the biochemical mechanisms related to resistance are not precisely known. Therefore, knowledge of pathways associated with resistance caused by carboplatin exposure may provide valuable clues for more efficient rational drug design in platinum-based therapy and the development of new therapeutic strategies. In this narrative review, we discuss some of the known mechanisms of resistance to platinum-based drugs, especially carboplatin.
A carboplatina é um derivado da cisplatina, possuindo mecanismo de ação similar, diferindo em estrutura e toxicidade. Este fármaco foi aprovado pelo FDA em meados de 1980 e, desde então, tem sido amplamente usado no tratamento de diversos tipos de tumores. Este agente é caracterizado por sua habilidade em gerar lesões no DNA através da formação de adutos com a platina, inibindo a replicação e a transcrição, levando à morte celular. Entretanto, seu uso pode levar a graves inconvenientes, advindos do desenvolvimento de resistência que alguns pacientes adquirem durante o tratamento, limitando o alcance de seu potencial. Até então, os mecanismos bioquímicos relacionados ao problema da resistência não são precisamente conhecidos. Dessa forma, o conhecimento das vias associadas à resistência causada pela exposição à carboplatina pode prover valiosas informações para o planejamento racional de fármacos com base em platina mais eficiente e para o desenvolvimento de novas estratégias terapêuticas. Nesta revisão narrativa, serão discutidos alguns mecanismos de resistência a fármacos com base em platina, especialmente ao antitumoral carboplatina.
This study investigates the relationship between energy metals and precious metals to assess their suitability as safe haven assets in clean energy investment portfolios. This study aims to conduct ...an effect analysis of the events that occurred during the years 2020 and 2022, characterized by substantial investments in the field of clean energy. The analysed period encompasses the period from 13 July 2018 to 11 July 2023. The study is carried out in multiple stages with the aim of investigating a highly tumultuous period in the global economy. To assess long-term relationships, the econometric methodology proposed by Gregory and Hansen will be employed. The research shows a positive association between energy metals (excluding nickel futures) and clean energy indexes, suggesting their potential as secure investments for green investors diversifying their portfolios. Additionally, the study confirms the reliability of precious metals, such as gold, silver, and platinum as safe havens for clean energy stock indexes. These findings highlight the stability that both energy and precious metals can offer within clean energy portfolios during market volatility, emphasizing their value in such investment strategies. In brief, this study affirms that energy and precious metals are invaluable pillars in the structure of clean energy portfolios, offering unwavering support during market turbulence.
