This paper addresses an experimental study on the bond of flax fibre reinforced polymer confined coconut fibre reinforced concrete composite. Four different conditions of the interface between the flax fibre reinforced polymer and coconut fibre reinforced concrete were considered. Twelve cylindrical specimens were fabricated and push-out tests were performed. Test results show that the mechanically bonded interface highly enhanced the bond between the polymer and concrete core. In addition, an equation was developed based on the experimental data to estimate the slippage resistance provided by the mechanically interface. The failure modes of all type of specimens will also be discussed.
Izid Ciceronove knjige O starosti so uradno proslavili 18. novembra, ko so jo avtorji in uredniki tudi predstavili javnosti. Kot so večkrat poudarili vsi, ki so pomagali pri nastanku prevoda, je to ...delo najstarejša ohranjena razprava o starosti in medgeneracijskih odnosih. Poleg svoje edinstvenosti pa je ta spis vse presenetil prav s svojo nadčasno vsebino, ki je aktualna zlasti v današnjih razmerah, ko se Slovenija spopada s staranjem prebivalstva. Lično oblikovana knjižica je zato tudi vsebinsko zelo dodelana, saj poleg vzporednega izvirnika in slovenskega prevoda klasične filologinje Vide Pust Škrgulja in ostalega aparata (bogatih opomb in pojasnil k prevodu, leksikona imen in pojmov ter samostojnega imenskega kazala) vsebuje tudi uvodni prispevek akademika Kajetana Gantarja o Ciceronu in njegovem delu ter kratko razpravo dr. Jožeta Ramovša o aktualnih demografskih vprašanjih.
This text about the ambivalence of fieldwork, rituals, actors, and stories thematizes the relationship between the researcher and his informants and interlocutors (usually also the performers of a ...cultural practice), and it reveals dynamic processes at the same time. In the chapter “Texts and Realities” the author uses the carnival tradition known as škoromatija to decode a palimpsest structure and syncretic understanding of reality. The second chapter focuses on the production of local identity: a motif that is characteristic for today’s production of ritual practices and cultural heritage. The chapter “Illusions of Harmony” thematizes discourse on the relationship between the views and conceptions of the researcher and performer, whereby the author especially problematizes the search for and repeated discovery of golden eras. “The Timing of Verbalization” is a narrative about time as one of the most important categories of structuring a narrative. The researcher problematizes the perception of time and the horizon, compares different timing of the past for himself and his interlocutor, and teases out caesurae in the structuring of time. In the last and partly self-ethnographic chapter on the ambivalence of fieldwork, the writer focuses on stories of “capturing” the reality, and stories about changing the approach to fieldwork and about the changed configurations of relations among actors.

Fotografija je bila posneta leta 1966 v vrtcu, kjer so še posebej ...poskrbeli za pustne šeme. Otroci smo bili našemljeni v gobice, indijance, črnce, dimnikarje, miške in druge like. Tako je nastala tudi ta fotografija moje skupine v vrtcu Marjetka. Vsako leto se je organizirala tudi pustna povorka, v kateri smo bile maškare iz vrtca in šole, pridružile so se nam tudi odrasle skupinske in posamezne maske ter pihalni orkester. Zbrali smo se pred vrtcem oz. pred takratnim Titovim domom (danes Kulturni dom), se peš odpravili skozi staro mestno jedro po glavni cesti mimo železarne na Čečovje, kjer smo pred Domom železarjev, znamenito Kavarno, priredili pustno rajanje. The monograph illustrates the festive year of Slovenes in the Canale Valley from the perspective of current ritualistic practices (still in use today). The identifying elements of the Slovenian ...linguistic community are recognizable in the implementation of various (popular) religious practices by the local population. The author presents the rituals (with selected prayer formulas), described as an integral part of their life by Slovenian-speaking informants – all of whom are indigenous, native people of the Canale Valley – that was described, from the point of view of experts in the fields (e.g. Kuret 1989) as typical of the Slovenian community in general.
