Climate change as a complex physical and social issue has gained increasing attention in the natural as well as the social sciences. Climate change research has become more interdisciplinary and even ...transdisciplinary as a typical Mode‐2 science that is also dependent on an application context for its further development. We propose to approach interdisciplinarity as a co‐construction of the knowledge base in the reference patterns and the programmatic focus in the editorials in the core journal of the climate‐change sciences—Climatic Change—during the period 1977–2013. First, we analyze the knowledge base of the journal and map journal–journal relations on the basis of the references in the articles. Second, we follow the development of the programmatic focus by analyzing the semantics in the editorials. We argue that interdisciplinarity is a result of the co‐construction between different agendas: The selection of publications into the knowledge base of the journal, and the adjustment of the programmatic focus to the political context in the editorials. Our results show a widening of the knowledge base from referencing the multidisciplinary journals Nature and Science to citing journals from specialist fields. The programmatic focus follows policy‐oriented issues and incorporates public metaphors.
The documentation of psychological trauma is obviously a challenge to clinicians while they are diving deep into remote events related to their clients or patients. The potential role of ...psychological trauma in the early developmental stages, and even the existence of adverse childhood experiences, is important to prove, yet it is difficult to do so. A diverse range of methods have been applied, all of which presumably benchmark a big therapeutic step; however, these enthusiastic methods frequently do not last for long. While hypnosis supporters, Freudian and Neo-Freudian disciples can be acute enough to enhance and uncover suppressed memories, modern psychiatry relies mostly on diversely structured interviews. Functional magnetic resonance and its related subtleties might help, but the questions that remain unanswered are numerous and confusing. Connecting early experiences with long-term memory while identifying psychological trauma its importance for the individual’s growth trajectory; thus, it remains an intriguing issue.
We live in an unprecedented time of scientific progress, which is increasingly dominated by a paradox: more money is spent on health care research, development and delivery, and yet health outcomes, ...quality of care and quality of research is by all measures considered suboptimal. The efficiency of current research system increasingly undermines public trust in science, which ultimately leads to corrosive effect on societies' well-being, as witnessed during the COVID19 pandemic(1-4). The research system must improve. It is responsibility of scientific community to identify "good" from "bad" research practices and to weed out the latter. However, the public also needs to understand that 100% efficient research is not theoretically possible, remain skeptical about exaggerated claims ("hypes") as good science typically progresses incrementally. To realize these goals, this talk will review practices of avoidable and unavoidable research waste and call for establishing new metrics (index of research waste). To improve research system each country/organization should undertake regular audits of its research practice activities and make data publicly available. Collecting these data may inform development of research waste metrics to complement traditional scientometric indices that do not capture this important dimension of scientific activity (5-7).
Burnout amongst radiologists is common in many different institutions and is increasing day by day. To battle burnout, we have to address the root causes already recognized in published literature. ...Therefore, it is crucial to examine and discern important publications.
To provide evidence-based data and trends related to burnout in radiologists so that researchers can work on it further and develop preventive strategies to overcome this problem.
Bibliometric analysis conducted by two independent reviewers separately used Scopus Library for data extraction by using medical subject heading and International Classification of Diseases keywords. Forty-nine articles were selected for analysis after an extensive scrutiny. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20 was used for analysis. Pearson correlation coefficient, Kruskal Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney U test were applied.
The most productive period with regards to the number of publications was between 2017 and 2019. A total of 160 authors contributed to the topic burnout among radiologists, with an average of 3.26 authors
paper. About 41.68% of the authors were female, whilst 35% of them were first authors. The co-citation analysis by author involved 188 cited authors, 13 of whom were cited at least 70 times. Only six out of forty-nine studies were funded by various government institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Current analysis casts a spotlight on important trends being witnessed in regard to the mental health of radiologists, including lack of funding for mental health research, narrowing of female
male citation gap, as well as authorship and citation trends.
Purpose/significance Scientometrics and informetrics respectively belong to science of science and information science, and they have coincidence in theory, methods and technology applications. The ...analysis of the similarities and differences between these two can help to deepen understanding, and help to accurately grasp the meaning and direction of the relevant terms. Method/process This paper collected the samples of scientometrics and informetrics from the aspects of representative journals and keyword retrieval. It also compared the similarities and differences of the distribution of publications and cooperation between the two subjects from the perspective of states, organizations and authors, clustering keywords to analyze the similarities and differences of subject structures between the two subjects. The citation behavior and knowledge flow of these two were compared from the perspectives of literature co-citation, author co-citation, journal co-citation and subject overlay diagram. Result/concl
