Background. Aphids are one of the insect groups with the greatest impact on agricultural production. They affect a wide range of hosts, including fruit trees such as citrus. Objective. Identify the ...main morphological characters and evaluate a rearing protocol for the aphid Toxoptera aurantii Boyer de Fonscolombe, 1841 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in a room-temperature in protected environment. Methodology. Specimens were collected from citrus trees in production in the province of Coclé, infested branches were cut and placed in plastic containers for transport. Insects were separated for identification through micro slides, observed under a microscope and identified using taxonomic reference keys. Four treatments were established with mucuna (Mucuna pruriens L. DC.), canavalia (Canavalia ensiformis L. DC.), bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and orange jasmine (Murraya paniculata L. Jack) as host plants. Abundance was evaluated at 2 and 14 DAI. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance. For each treatment, 30 plants were used, and five aphids of different stages (two adults and three nymphs) were released on each plant. Plants were evaluated from 0 to 14 DAI (Days after infestation). Insect abundance was evaluated at 2 and 14 DAI. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance. Results. The morphological determinant characters of the species T. aurantii were identified. Statistically significant differences were observed between treatments (p<0.05) at 2 and 14 DAI, where the host plant that highlighted was the orange jasmine with an average of 51.5 ± 55.95 specimens per plant at 14 DAI. Implications. This research implies the importance of identifying the aphid species and determining a plant that meets feeding preferences for aphid breeding. Conclusions. The use of orange jasmine at room temperature in greenhouses allows the establishment of offspring of the aphid T. aurantii 10.3 times greater than the initial population in periods of 14 DAI.
La presente contribución estima la Intensidad de Isla de Calor Urbano superficial (SUHI) durante el periodo 2001 – 2016 para el Area Metropolitana de Cuzco (AMC), localizado en Perú en el ...departamento de Cuzco. Para cuantificar la SUHI, se usó 2 métodos: el primero es el método de Streutker y el segundo método propuesto por Jose Flores (método de cuantil). Donde se utilizó data de sensoramiento remoto de LST mensual y producto anual de tipo de cobertura de suelo (Land Cover Type) a 0.050 de resolución, obtenido del sensor MODIS a bordo del satélite TERRA y AQUA. En el AMC, en los periodos diurnos, el SUHI máximo muestra los valores máximos en marzo (4.6 C) y valores mínimos en julio (0.5 C) y la SUHI nocturnas presenta valores máximos en octubre (2.6 C) y valores mínimos en marzo (1.7 C) utilizando el método de cuantiles, ya que el área metropolitana de Cuzco no se ajusta a una superficie gaussiana.
The objective of this work was to verify the use of semivariogram models and ordinary kriging to characterize and to represent the temporal dependence of the pluvial precipitation and air ...temperature, by using years and months with coordinates. The observed the forecast data of future scenarios of climatic changes, from 2000 to 2099, of the municipal district of Juiz de Fora – MG, for the pluvial precipitation and air temperature were analyzed. The semivariograms were adjusted by considering isotropy and anisotropy conditions. The wave model presented better adjustment than the Gaussian and spherical models when the two-dimensional grid was used. The structure and the magnitude of temporal dependence of the two variables were characterized by considering the 0º (months) and 90º (years) directions. The pattern of the temporal variability of the precipitation and the air temperature was represented by using kriging. Possible changes in the patterns of the pluvial precipitation and the air temperature for the future scenarios were verified by using a two-dimensional grid and kriging. The greatest changes in the pattern of the two variables were verified in the most pessimist future scenario.
El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar el uso de diferentes modelos de semivariograma y kriging ordinario para caracterizar y representar la dependencia temporal de lluvia y da temperatura del aire, usando años y meses como coordenadas de referencia. Se utilizó los datos de pronóstico de precipitación y temperatura del aire en futuros escenarios de cambio climático de 2000 hasta 2099, para el municipio de Juiz de Fora – MG. Con base en los semivariogramas experimentales y los teóricos que consideran isotropía y anisotropía, se constató la dependencia temporal de la precipitación, con el mejor modelo de "wave" en comparación con los modelos esféricos y gaussianos. La estructura y la magnitud de la dependencia temporal de las dos variables en los escenarios futuros en las direcciones 0º (meses) hasta 90º (años) fueron caracterizadas utilizando el ajuste propuesto. Con el uso de la geoestadística, el patrón de la variabilidad temporal de la precipitación y temperatura del aire fue representado con el paso de los años y de los meses por medio de la interpolación de kriging, observando posibles cambios en los patrones de precipitación y temperatura para los datos de previsión de los cambios climáticos, con gran alteración en el peor de los casos.Geoestadística, temperatura, precipitación, variabilidad temporal
O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o uso de modelos de semivariograma e krigagem ordinária para caracterizar e representar a dependência temporal da precipitação pluvial e da temperatura do ar, utilizando anos e meses como coordenadas referenciadas. Foram utilizados os dados de previsão de precipitação pluvial e temperatura do ar em cenários futuros de mudanças climáticas, de 2000 a 2099, do município de Juiz de Fora, MG. Com base nos semivariogramas experimentais e teóricos, considerando isotropia e anisotropia, foi constatada dependência temporal da precipitação pluvial, com melhor ajuste do modelo “wave”, quando comparado com os modelos gaussiano e esférico. A estrutura e a magnitude de dependência temporal das duas variáveis, em cenários futuros e nas direções 0º (meses) e 90º (anos), foram caracterizadas utilizando-se o arranjo proposto. Com o uso da geoestatística, o padrão da variabilidade temporal da precipitação pluvial e da temperatura do ar foi representado ao longo dos anos e dos meses por meio da interpolação de krigagem, verificando-se possíveis mudanças nos padrões de precipitação pluvial e temperatura, para os dados de previsão de mudanças climáticas, com maior alteração para o cenário mais pessimista.

Esta investigación evalúa el tiempo de supervivencia en superficies del (SARS-CoV-2). En una fina película de líquido nanométrico que queda después de la evaporación de la gota respiratoria para ...determinar los efectos de temperatura y humedad se utilizó el parámetro log 10 ( N t / N 0 ) frente al tiempo para realizar un análisis de regresión para cada virus y condición de temperatura y humedad sobre la supervivencia de los coronavirus en acero inoxidable. A 4 ° C, el virus infeccioso persistió durante 28 días y el nivel más bajo de inactivación se produjo al 20% de humedad. La inactivación fue más rápida a 20 ° C (T° anual media a 2850m.s.n.m.) que a 4 ° C en todos los niveles de humedad; los virus persistieron durante 5 a 28 días y la inactivación más lenta se produjo a baja humedad. This article shows the temporal behavior of lightning activity and its relationship with the meteorological variables involved in the formation of storms, in a mountain city. The results show that ...the lightning activity in Manizales has 69 thunderdays and that the months with most activity are March and November. The analysis was performed for both wet and dry periods. The results show that during the wet periods the activity of lightning is more intense and that it is mainly due to local winds and the displacement of the Intertropical Confluence Zone. The average diurnal cycle of meteorological variables is also presented, such as surface pressure, surface air temperature, dew point temperature, mixing ratio, zonal and southern winds.
El presente artículo muestra el comportamiento diurno y estacional de la actividad de rayos y su relación con las variables meteorológicas que intervienen en la formación de las tormentas, en una ciudad de montaña. Los resultados muestran que Manizales tiene en promedio 69 días tormentosos, es decir, son los días donde al menos un rayo es detectado. Dentro de los resultados, también se puede apreciar que los meses con mayor actividad son marzo y noviembre. El análisis se realizó para los dos periodos lluvioso y seco que se presentan en la zona andina de Colombia. Los resultados muestran que durante los periodos de lluvia la actividad de rayos es más intensa y que obedece principalmente a vientos locales y al desplazamiento de la Zona de Confluencia Intertropical. Dentro del análisis de las variables meteorológicas fue utilizado el ciclo diurno promedio para observar el comportamiento de estas durante los días con actividad de rayos y los que no tuvieron actividad, las variables analizadas fueron presión de superficie, temperatura superficial del aire, temperatura de punto de rocío, razón de mezcla, vientos zonal y meridional.
Objetivo: O propósito deste estudo foi avaliar os índices de cocção e as temperaturas da superfície de carnes grelhadas na parrilla de um restaurante comercial de Fortaleza. Métodos: Caracterizou-se ...como uma pesquisa descritivo-exploratória e quantitativa. Os cortes de carne bovina selecionados foram chorizo (contrafilé), lombo (filé mignon) e tira (picanha) nos seguintes pontos de cozimento: malpassado, ao ponto e bem-passado. Foram coletadas 38 amostras entre os meses de setembro e novembro de 2020. Aferiram-se os pesos líquidos, pesos dos alimentos cozidos, índices de cocção (IC) e temperaturas médias, além de avaliação da temperatura média da grelha da parrilla. A análise estatística foi constituída dos testes de Shapiro-Wilk e ANOVA. Resultados: Os ICs resultantes variaram de 0,76 a 0,92 para o chorizo, 0,69 a 0,92 para o lombo e 0,66 a 0,85 para a tira. Houve redução do peso do lombo malpassado para ao ponto. O intervalo de IC de 0,65 a 0,90 do estudo de Ornelas convergiu com o presente estudo. O chorizo malpassado se enquadrou como possivelmente seguro pela classificação da OMS e a tira, classificada como malpassada pelo modelo de Prill et al. O chorizo seguiu uma tendência decrescente de temperatura, contrariando o padrão prévio. Conclusão: É fundamental haver um controle de temperatura apropriado na busca por uma temperatura compatível às exigências para se chegar a um modelo ideal. Além disso, a investigação detalhada tornou o estudo uma importante referência para a utilização dos ICs descritos.

Alumina-supported nickel catalysts are used to facilitate many reactions at various scales. However, the deactivation of these catalysts is an important problem that has prompted the search for solutions such as the addition of other metals that act as promoters. In this research, the interactions that form between the support and the metals have been studied, a fundamental property that directly affects the performance of the catalyst. With this idea, several Ni-Pd and Ni-Mo bimetallic and various Ni-Mo-Pd trimetallic samples have been prepared, and the reduction capacity of the oxide phases by temperatura-programmed reduction has been analyzed and studied. It has been found that in bimetallic catalysts, Pd favors the appearance of NiO species that are more easily reducible than Mo. In the same way, the data obtained from the trimetallic simples suggest that the impregnation order of Mo and Pd is not a determining factor in these catalysts. In addition, it has been found that the co-impregnation of Ni with Pd gives better results than the sequential impregnation of these metals. The results obtained have also shown that the order of nickel impregnation is decisive. In the case of Ni-Mo catalysts, by impregnating the molybdenum first, catalysts with better reducing properties can be obtained.
Objetivo: evaluar la relación entre la producción de brotes en pitahaya (Hylocereus sp.) y las variables climáticas. Materiales y métodos: el ensayo se realizó en San Mateo, Alajuela, Costa Rica, de ...febrero 2017 a diciembre 2019. Las variables evaluadas fueron: número de brotes vegetativos (NBV), número de brotes reproductivos (NBR), precipitación pluvial (PP, en mm), humedad relativa (HR, en %), temperatura promedio (Tp, en °C), temperatura máxima (Tmáx, en °C) y temperatura mínima (Tmín, en °C). Se obtuvieron las correlaciones de Spearman entre todas las variables. Resultados: NBV no obtuvo correlaciones significativas con NBR, PP, HR, Tp, Tmáx y Tmín. NBR presentó correlación positiva significativa con Tmín (rs = 0.54**) y PP (rs = 0.38*), por lo que a mayor PP y Tmín, mayor será el número de brotes reproductivos. Se obtuvieron correlaciones significativas de NBV y NBR con las variables climáticas obtenidas en meses previos a la brotación. Los picos de producción de brotes vegetativos ocurrieron en julio y septiembre de 2017, en marzo y noviembre de 2018, así como en enero, abril, mayo, septiembre, noviembre y diciembre de 2019; mientras que los brotes reproductivos se presentaron en abril, junio y julio de 2018 y abril, mayo, julio y septiembre de 2019. Conclusiones: El inicio de la floración ocurre a partir del inicio de la temporada de lluvias, y cuando la Tmín aumenta y supera los 20 °C. La producción de los brotes reproductivos ocurrió únicamente en las etapas inicial y media de la temporada lluviosa. En el momento de la producción de brotes reproductivos, la producción de brotes vegetativos fue baja o nula. A mayor producción de brotes vegetativos, mayor será el número de brotes reproductivos emitidos 3-5 meses después. A partir de los 24 meses después de la siembra, se presentaron entre tres y cuatro ciclos de floración por año.
