Career intentions of students are extremely important and they are affected by the particular social context, such as cultures, communities, universities in which they are embedded. The exposure to ...entrepreneurship education may also have moderating effects on the different social antecedents of career intentions. We draw data from a large sample and use logistic regression and marginal effects to highlight the importance of the socio-cultural environment to the intention to become a founder instead of an employee in the near and distant future. We show that the effect of entrepreneurship education is not the same in every social context. While entrepreneurship research up to now has mainly focused on individual level determinants of career choices, we highlight the importance of the social environment. Policy makers should consider the characteristics of the different levels of the social environment before designing policies to reinforce the intention to become a founder.
With the gradual expansion of the university scale, it is extremely inconvenient for students to travel to and from campus and classrooms. Bikeshare and shared electric bike (e-bikeshare) are ...currently promising solutions for campus travel. Most literature has recently focused on bikeshare and e-bikeshare studies in the urban environment, with little attention on campus. However, campuses are significantly different from urban environments, which hinder the active promotion of campus bikeshare and e-bikeshare use. The subject of this paper is Henan Polytechnic University, which is one of the largest bikeshare and e-bikeshare universities in China. Based on the analysis and summary of travel characteristics of Chinese college travelers, this paper uses RP and SP survey data to construct a Nested Logit model to explore the potential factors influencing the use behavior of bikeshare and e-bikeshare in Chinese college environments. The results show that bikeshare and e-bikeshare are the most sensitive to trip time. The influence of trip purpose and weather conditions on the selection of bikeshare and e-bikeshare is smaller than that of time urgency. According to the estimated trip sharing rate of the model, we find that bikeshare and e-bikeshare are attractive.

In the circumstances of a globalized world where there are already laws that operate on an international scale and common values, such as social solidarity and international cooperation, the recognition of these fundamental values does not imply agreement on the common ground of understanding in terms of justice and morality. The University has a duty to assess how its students perceive morality and legality, but it also has the power to grow these values and foster an environment where they serve as a constant source of guidance for students. The quality of the content of the legal norms, as well as their harmonization with the moral norms will result in an ethical university environment where there will be no more differences between the moral and legal systems, or they will be negligible, when all or almost all of the system of rules that make up morality will be integrated into the legal system, there being no immoral legal rules.
Le présent article s’intéresse à l’organisation du travail universitaire des étudiant·e·s en situation de handicap anglais·e·s et français·e·s et à la manière dont l’environnement universitaire voit ...naitre et répond aux difficultés en la matière, impliquant des restrictions de participation aux apprentissages et des situations d’inégalité. Nous constaterons que pour certains étudiant·e·s une organisation du travail efficiente est possible grâce à des ressources que nous mettrons en lumière. En revanche, pour d’autres étudiant·e·s les stratégies mises en œuvre sont inopérantes pour des causes que nous expliciterons, de même que leurs conséquences pour les parcours étudiants. Nous formulerons à ce titre des recommandations pour accompagner ces pratiques estudiantines dont l’enjeu réside dans l’affiliation à l'université et la réussite.
This article focuses on the organization of university work of English and French students with disabilities and the way in which the university environment sees the birth of and responds to the difficulties in this area, involving restrictions of participation in learning and situations of inequality.We will find that for some students an efficient organization of work is possible thanks to the resources that we will highlight. On the other hand, for other students the strategies implemented are ineffective for reasons that we will explain, as well as their consequences for student careers.As such, we will make recommendations to support these student practices, the challenge of which lies in belonging to the university and academic success.
Purpose
– The purpose of this paper is to foster entrepreneurship among students and incubate more start-ups for economic prosperity, universities around the globe are required to play key role in ...developing overall conducive eco-system for student fraternity. Some previous studies have analysed student entrepreneurship and impact of entrepreneurship courses. However, role of universities as provider and enabler of entrepreneurial environment and its impact on entrepreneurial intent among students has not been studied in a cross-cultural context. Considering this, present study seeks to examine role played by universities in fostering entrepreneurial intention among post-graduate students.
Design/methodology/approach
– Researcher has taken the framework suggested by Kraaijenbrink et al. (2010) to understand university environment and theory of planned behaviour (Ajzen, 1985) to measure entrepreneurial intention and its antecedents among final year post-graduate management students of India, Malaysia and Singapore. Total sample size is 1,097. Data are analysed with help of exploratory factor analysis, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and structural equation modelling (SEM).
Findings
– Two factors emerge out of analysis in relation to university environment and support: first, targeted cognitive and non-cognitive support and second, general educational support. With help of SEM, attempt is made to find relationship between these two factors and entrepreneurial intention. It is found that university environment and support has significantly positive relationship with perceived behavioural control. With help of MANOVA, it is found that there is statistically significant difference between perceived university environment and support factors among students of India, Singapore and Malaysia. With this, for both factors highest mean score is found among students of Malaysia, followed by students of Singapore and India.
Originality/value
– Study has closely examined role played by university environment and support to foster entrepreneurship among young students. Findings of the study can be used by post-graduate educational institutes to design pedagogy, create enabling entrepreneurship support system and work towards becoming an entrepreneurial university.
Purpose - This paper aims to describe and empirically test a comprehensive model on the entrepreneurial intentions of the university students in which some individual and environmental factors were ...included. Also, the strengths of individual and environmental factors' influence are compared.Design methodology approach - A questionnaire survey was completed by a random sample (n=356) of business administration, health sciences and law faculty students across two Turkish universities. Results were based on correlation and regression analysis.Findings - Results indicate that as individual factors locus of control and entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and as environmental ones social network and access to capital have significant impacts on entrepreneurial intentions of students. However, the results showed that the university environment does not have any significant impact.Research limitations implications - Self-report bias and cross-sectional data are possible limitations. Longitudinal studies in the future may have different results.Originality value - The paper demonstrates that ESE is the most important factor on the entrepreneurial intention and besides social network contributes as the second factor. Also it puts personality as the dominant factor of entrepreneurial intention of students. However, paper introduces that the university environment does not have any significant impact on the entrepreneurial intentions. This result adds to the academic literature on entrepreneurial intention and offers several implications especially for university directors about entrepreneurship education.
This systematic literature review aims at understanding the influence of the university's environment and support system (ESS) in shaping the social entrepreneurial intention (SEI) of post-secondary ...education students. Social entrepreneurs play an important role in the economic and social developments of the communities in which they operate, thus many post-secondary institutions are starting to encourage more students to engage in social entrepreneurial behaviour. Consequently, there is a need for systematic approaches to evaluate the impact of various motivational factors related to the university's entrepreneurial ecosystem that could affect the SEI of students. Based on a systematic literature review and narrative synthesis of the antecedents of the SEI of post-secondary education students, the authors proposed a customized SEI model that modifies and extend the one proposed by Hockerts (Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, 2017) and Mair and Noboa (Social entrepreneurship, 2006). This study fills a gap in the literature by providing a methodology grounded in theory that can help universities to design their educational and other interventions aimed at encouraging more students to consider social entrepreneurship as a viable career choice after graduation
This article aims to determine the effects of entrepreneurial intention on students' entrepreneurial orientation and examine the moderation of workplace spirituality. This study uses a quantitative ...approach by distributing questionnaires to the five largest state universities in Eastern Indonesia, involving 397 students in entrepreneurship programs. The study results reveal that a spiritual workplace can counterproductively moderate the intention to build students' entrepreneurial orientation. In the context of Indonesian students, it seems that subjective norms have the most decisive influence on intentions. Several suggestions were offered regarding the meaning of the university environment as students’ habitat for learning and the importance of integrating spirituality in the context of academic work to become a true entrepreneur. This study highlights that entrepreneurial orientation can be built with strong intentions even though workplace spirituality does not fully support work-based entrepreneurial learning.
