Purpose: The aim of the research is to investigate the impact of financial literacy and its dimensions on the women entrepreneurial success. The focus of the study is on the women entrepreneurs of ...Pakistan and examines the relationship between the dimensions of financial literacy like financial management, saving, debt, insurance and investment literacy and the performance of the women run enterprise. The inclusion and participation of the women is a key indicator for the progress and development of a country. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study employs a quantitative approach where survey questionnaires were the primary research method employed to collect the data. Data was collected from 284 women entrepreneurs form the major metropolitan cities in Pakistan. These women were selected using purposive sampling and the data was then analysed using the partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. Findings: The finding of the study suggests that the overall financial literacy level of women entrepreneurs is impacting the success and growth of their ventures. Moreover, all the dimensions of the financial literacy were positively and significantly related to the success. Implications/Originality/Value: This research advances the argument that the financial literacy is a contributing factor in the entrepreneurial success of the business.
This study examined agricultural entrepreneurship among women shea butter processors in Kwara State Nigeria. It assessed their motivation factors, level of efficiencies, determinants of output and ...challenges faced in the entrepreneurial drive by the women. Primary data, collected using a semi-structured questionnaire, were collected from randomly selected 120 shea butter women processors. The data obtained were analysed with descriptive statistics, index ranking and the stochastic frontier function. The results showed that the motivating factors for agripreneurship among women were the quest to take care of the family, be financially independent, have increased income and be self-employed. The mean entrepreneurial, managerial and prudent efficiencies of the women were 0.78, 0.60 and 0.47, respectively. This indicates that there is still room for welfare gain by the women through improvement in their efficiency levels. The main determinants of output by the women were the quantity of shea nuts, water, and labour used. Meanwhile, educational status, access to extension services and membership in cooperatives had a direct effect on the level of entrepreneurial efficiency of the women, while their inefficiency increases with age. Entrepreneurial drive by the women was constrained by inadequate governmental and institutional support, poor credit facilities, lack of training on entrepreneurial development, poor potable water supply, and seasonality of the shea nuts. This study advocates efforts by the government and relevant stakeholders to support women to improve their agripreneurial efficiency. This could be achieved through the provision of processing technology, financial aid and training on entrepreneurial development.
The problem in this study is that there are still various controversies in the results of research regarding the relationship and influence between innovations on performance. In addition, there is ...also a gap, namely the increasing number of women's businesses on the one hand and on the other hand, the success of women's businesses tends to be lower than that of men's businesses. So this study aims to close the research gap, namely the influence of Innovativeness on business performance by mediating competitive advantage. The sample is 62 women entrepreneurs. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire via google form. The data analysis method uses SEM with the WrapPLS 7.0 program. The results show that Innovation has a significant positive effect on Competitive Advantage, but has no effect on Business Performance. Meanwhile, Competitive Advantage has a significant positive effect on Business Performance and has succeeded in becoming a mediator (full mediation) for Innovation and Business Performance.
The worth of women's entrepreneurship is accepted globally, but there is less focus on it in developing countries, and societal expectations mean women often lack the confidence to start their own ...business. The core purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of personality traits on women's inclination toward entrepreneurship. The personality traits are measured through the dimensions of openness, neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness. Further, the study introduced the mediator of self-leadership on personality traits and entrepreneurial intentions of women. The study is quantitative in nature and used a questionnaire survey to collect the data by convenience sampling technique. The data was collected in the context of Pakistan, and Smart PLS was chosen for further analysis. The findings revealed the significance of the relationship between personality traits and entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, the study also highlighted the significance of self-leadership as a mediator and proposed significant relationships. The study suggested that personality issues should be considered and used from a business perspective, and self-leadership is important for women. The study provides room for policymakers and institutes to inform educational policies to motivate women entrepreneurs for the future.
The primary purpose of the research is to identify the challenges faced by Indian urban women micro-entrepreneurs in their entrepreneurial journey. The challenges presented by the external ...environment as well as the deficiencies inherent in their skill sets are analysed to ascertain the most important barriers that continue to impede their growth. Findings indicate that limited funding and balancing responsibilities are the two major challenges faced by women entrepreneurs (WEs); the former being most important for micro-entrepreneurs engaged in manufacturing, while the latter poses the biggest challenge for those engaged in the services sector. Regarding skills, findings indicate that WEs appear to be least skilled in performing finance and information technology-related roles. To the extent that perceived skill gaps and challenges faced are closely related, the findings of this research present an alternative interpretation of the primacy of funding constraints faced by WEs.
