Revision of “Notes on the seaweed of Capodistria” by Giuseppe Accurti (1824-1907). The authors present the results of the review of the algal species described in the work of Giuseppe Accurti ...(1824-1907) “Cenno sulle alghe di Capodistria (Notes on the seaweed of Capodistria)” published in the yearbook of the Koper Gymnasium in 1858. The algae samples treated belong to the Algological section property of the Civic Museum of Natural History of Trieste. The revision concerned those samples which, by place (Koper and surroundings) and collection period (from December 1857 to July 1858), are presumed to correspond to those collected by Accurti and described in his work. In total 81 samples were examined, of which 3 Cyanobacteria, 12 Ochrophyta, 18 Chlorophyta, 43 Rhodophyta and 5 Charophyta. The review is accompanied by images of the samples examined. There are also brief biographical notes regarding the life of Accurti and a brief description of the town of Koper and its surroundings at the time when Accurti lived. In the appendix, the sampling sites of the examined species, are presented.
