Security aspects of tourism in Slovenia [Elektronski vir]

For the tourism economy of the country the safety of tourist destinations makes the strategic importance. This paper should point an attention to the importance of security in tourism of Slovenia, ...which is primarily seen as an implementation of the legislation. We put the emphasis on the following theoretical issues: the safety of tourist destinations, sources of risks and threats to tourism, the importance of safety information in tourism and the role of Police in security, in relation to tourism. The originality of this paper is in searching for proposals for improving security in the tourism of Slovenia. We used the following methods of research: review and analysis of primary and secondary literature, descriptive method, focused interviews, analysis and interpretation of primary data (records of interviews), conducting qualitative research and a comparison between theory and practice. In the review and analysis of primary and secondary literature, we were limited to use the publicly available sources. We focused exclusively on tourism of Slovenia - inbound and domestic tourism. The findings of the paper are intended to tourism management and safety of all operators in the tourism business.
