Zbog hiperdinamične okoline koju karakteriziraju nove tehnologije, promjene u preferencijama potrošača i intenzivna konkurencija, organizacijsko znanje postalo je iznimno važan resurs, a inovativnost i sustavno upravljanje znanjem prerasli su u preduvjete za opstanak i razvoj poduzeća. Upravljanje znanjem shvaća se kao sustavnu uporabu intelektualnog kapitala poduzeća radi postizanja sinergijskih učinaka. Uz to, organizacijska izvedba i perspektiva poduzeća značajno ovise o stilu i osobnosti lidera, odnosno o kompatibilnosti načina ponašanja vođe s potrebama zaposlenika i poduzeća. Odluka vodstva da se u poduzeću stvaraju, primjenjuju i razmjenjuju stečene kompetencije temeljni je preduvjet za izgradnju učeće organizacije. Taj koncept podrazumijeva neprekidno učenje, usavršavanje, prilagodbu i uvođenje promjena. Cilj rada je utvrditi postoji li korelacija upravljanja znanjem i stila liderstva s razvojem malih, srednjih i velikih hrvatskih poduzeća. U 120 poduzeća obuhvaćenih empirijskim istraživanjem prevladavaju transformacijski i transakcijski stilovi liderstva koji su posebice poticajni za učenje i razvoj. Rezultati dokazuju pozitivnu povezanost stila liderstva i upravljanja znanjem s razvojem poduzeća pod čime se podrazumijeva proces usmjeren na rast obujma poslovanja i poboljšanje uspješnosti poduzeća. Ovaj rad pridonosi boljem shvaćanju veze između liderskog stila i razvoja, odnosno važnosti uloge lidera u istraživačkom i dvosmjernom učenju. Due to the hyperdynamic environment characterized by new technologies, changes in consumerpreferences and intense competition, organizational knowledge has become an extremely importantresource. Innovation and systematic knowledge management are prerequisites for the survivaland development of enterprises. Knowledge management is understood as the systematic use of acompany’s intellectual capital in order to achieve synergistic effects. In addition, the organizationalperformance and perspective of the enterprise significantly depend on the style and personality ofthe leader, that is, on the compatibility of the leader’s behavior with the needs of employees and theenterprise. The management’s decision to create, apply and exchange acquired competencies in theenterprise is a fundamental prerequisite for building a learning organization. This concept impliescontinuous learning, improvement, adaptation and introduction of changes. The aim of the paperis to determine whether there is a correlation between knowledge management and leadershipstyle with the development of small, medium and large Croatian enterprises. In the 120 legal entitiesincluded in the empirical research, transformational and transactional leadership styles prevail, whichare particularly stimulating for learning and development. The results prove a positive connectionbetween leadership style and knowledge management with company development, which meansa process aimed at growing business volume and improving company performance. This papercontributes to a better understanding of the relationship between leadership style and development,that is, the importance of the leader’s role in exploratory and two-way learning.
