A linear mixed model ( ) can be given in certain multiple partitioned forms, and there exist reduced linear mixed models ( s) associated with the given partitioned linear mixed model. We consider in this work the best linear unbiased predictors ( s) of and s. This work aims at establishing some analytical formulas for calculating ranks and inertias of dispersion matrices of s and using these formulas in the comparison of s' dispersion matrices under the and s.
