In her discussion of "Mask Up," Annie Lee Jones pressures the two main metaphors in the essay, masks and masquerade, to ask what kinds of stories they license, articulating an important set of concerns for what the metaphors may obscure. The response considers oversights in the original essay and offers additional material to extend the conversation.
