Space structure materials intended for long-term missions in low orbits are subjected to several degrading effects. Here, Micciche et al talk about the development and validation of a new facility for low earth orbit thermal cycling simulation. According to them, thermal cycling is one of the most severe due to the high changes in temperature that the materials undergo.
