Performs a phylogenetic analysis of nematode mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) strains representing eight different Phasmarhabditis species, collected from nine countries around the world, in order to identify the origin of species recently discovered in New Zealand and the western USA. Confirms that nematodes deriving from the Nemaslug® biocontrol product have invaded countries where its use as a biological control agent is prohibited by regulatory agencies and is not commercially available.
