    In this chapter, I shall first describe the background of the Pan-chiao model of social studies curriculim development, i.e. a case study of social studies curriculum innovation in Taiwan during ... 1979-1987, and then analyze its approach to curriculum planning, the nature of the changes sought, the approach to curriculum dissemination and the approach to curriculum evaluation. Finally, I shall make critical observations on this model as an aproach to curriculum development.
