  • Vyzovy sovremennosti i jazykovoe planirovanie v Slovenii : [perevod so slovenskogo na russkij Filimonova Tatʹjana]
    Gorjanc, Vojko
Since the beginning of the 1990s, the situation regarding the Slovenian language has been most prominently marked by its changed status resulting from the establishment of the Republic of Slovenia as ... an independent state, and again when the Republic of Slovenia joined the European Union, by which it became one of the official languages of the European Union. The Slovenian linguistic situation is increasingly marked by multiculturalism and multilingualism. In order to ensure linguistics rights as basic rights and the equal treatment of all before the law as well as in other social spheres, translation and interpreting are becoming a necessity; the regulation of this professional area, which is defined by a society's socially weakest members, is indicative of the level of democracy in a society. Slovenian language planning and language policy activities are in a desperate need of the change of their focuses, namely from the questions of status and prestige into solving everyday real-life language problems of the contemporary Slovenian society.
