  • Infinitiv jako pravovalenční doplnění sloves v češtině a ve slovinštině
    Stankovska, Petra
Infinitive as an indefinite verbal form with its inability to express distinctive verbal categories often resembles names with respect to its syntactic properties. This character of the infinitive is ... probably the cause of a sometimes difficult evalution of its syntactic position in the contemporary Slavic languages. In this paper, we focus on the right-sided complements of verbs with the exception of modal, inchoative verbs and verbs of motion (in Slovene still required a complement in the supine) according to the valency dictionaries of Czech and Slovenian verbs. The comparison shows that the standard Slovenian has a much smaller number of verbs which can take an infinitive as the right -sided complement than the Czech language. In this position, Slovenian mostly exhibits a deverbal noun or a dependent sentence.
