  • Computer aided determination of feasibility of work operation on machines in flexible manufacturing systems

    Nowadays, various methods of work can be used for planning the technology. Planning of tecnology can range from conventional manual methods to the use of various more or less capable program tools. ... With respect to the price level the programme tools ensure different quality of results. This paper gives an example how to select a machine tool on the basis of a known technology. Standard operations in accordance with DIN standards are used. The action required for planning in the CAPP module is described. Such a manner of determining the feasibility of an operation can be used for the first selection of the machine tool as well as for searching for a replacement machine tool. The working operation on the machine tool is of assistance to the technologist at the stage when he selects the machine tool for the execution of the order and during production controlling it helps to search the replacement of a machine tool. It is still the man who makes the final decision. In practice it is impossible to reach complete automation because unforseeable events always occur. Automation is usually controlled by the software on computers which is not programmed for a certain area and does not controll all events.
