  • Sodobni pogledi na onihomikoze = Current aspects on onychomycoses

    Background. Onychomycosis is a common fungal infection, which is frequently underestimated and often regarded as a cosmetic problem. In recent years more attention is given to this disease because of ... its increasing incidence and association with immunosuppression and HIV infection. The importance of onychomycosis has been reconsidered and treatment possibilities are better. Conclusions. In this article I would like to stress medical and epidemiological significance of onychomycosis, the most frequent causative agents in our patients, and the importance of mycological examination for correct diagnosis and apporpriate treatment of the disease.
