  • Sodobno sistemsko zdravljenje glivičnih okužb = Contemporary systemic antifungal treatment
    Beović, Bojana
Modern antifungal agents and approaches used in systemic treatment of fungal infections are reviewed. Amphotericin B still plays a major role in the treatment of invasive fungal infections. In some ... cases it may be replaced by its less toxic lipid formulations. Newer azoles, fluconazole and itraconazole have become another treatment possibility in management of invasive fungal infections. Fluconazole is recommended in treatment of invasive candidiasis in stable patients. Intraconazole has been used successfully in some cases of invasive aspergillosis. Fluconazole and itraconazole are the most important systemic drugs in treatment of mucosal candidiasis. Newer drugs such as itraconazole, fluconazole and terbinafine are easy to administer and successful in treatment of skin infections caused by dermatophytes.
