    An analysis of the sick-leave data, assembled by an accomplished modernisationof data collecting is represented in this article. The changes in representation of sick-leave indexes are explained. The ... sick-leave for 1996in comparison with years from 1990 is shown, and a long sick-leave is shown separately because of its importance (longer than 365 days). Possibilities for the analysis of sick-leave on the basis of new contents and the new wave of collecting the data for 1996 are represented in the article. Some important differences on the basis of the analysis of sick-leave by sex have been ascertained and we try to explain them by the data about hospitalisations of active population and by the data frorn foreign literature. On the basis of these analyses some suggestions were given especially to firms administration for financing insurance for temporal. Disability from work and suggestions regarding anticipated duration of working period in future.
