Although he is one of the most important contemporary Muslim thinkers who ...has offered a significant contribution in the field of political philosophy, philosophy of science, sociology of knowledge, and mysticism, our focus remains on Soroush's philosophical interpretation of religion. The theory of the expansion of religious knowledge, which represents a real epistemological turn, as well as the theory of the expansion of prophetic experience, are the cornerstone of his philosophy of religion, which appears as the very key to his reformist discourse. With Fazlur Rahman (1919-1988), Isma’il Faruqi (1921-1986), Mohammad Arqouna (1928-2010), Hassan Hanafi (1935-2021), Nasr Abu Zayd (1943-2010), and Muhammad ‘Abid Jabiri (1935-2010), Abdolkarim Soroush appears as one of the most prominent contemporary Muslim neo-rationalists.
Pluralistička filozofija religije Abdolkarima Sorousha, čija neoracionalistička misao predstavlja stvarni epistemološki obrat unutar muslimanskog reformskog diskursa, središnje je pitanje kojim se ...bavi ovaj rad. Abdolkarim Soroush, kao suvremeni muslimanski mislilac, donosi sasvim novo razumijevanje pitanja religijskog pluralizma te uz uključenje analitičke filozofije, suvremene hermeneutičke tradicije i sufijske metafizike, doprinosi stvaranju upečatljivo karakteristične filozofije religije unutar muslimanskog intelektualnog kruga. Pitanja širenja i sužavanja religijskog znanja, kao i širenja poslaničkog iskustva, neodvojivi su elementi njegove filozofije religije.
La philosophie pluraliste de la religion d’Abdolkarim Soroush, dont les pensées néo-rationalistes représentent un réel tournant épistémologique au sein du discours réformateur musulman, est la question centrale traitée dans ce travail. Abdolkarim Soroush, en tant que penseur musulman contemporain, offre une lecture entièrement nouvelle du pluralisme religieux et, en intégrant la philosophie analytique, la tradition herméneutique contemporaine et la métaphysique Sufi, contribue à la création d’une philosophie de la religion spécifiquement distincte au sein du cercle intellectuel musulman. La question de l’expansion et du recul des connaissances religieuses, aussi bien que l’expansion de l’expérience prophétique, sont des éléments indissociables de sa philosophie de la religion.
Die pluralistische Religionsphilosophie von Abdolkarim Soruschs, dessen neorationalistischer Gedanke eine genuine epistemologische Wende innerhalb des muslimischen Reformdiskurses abbildet, ist das Kardinalthema dieses Beitrags. Als zeitgenössischer muslimischer Denker bringt Abdolkarim Soruschs eine gänzlich neue Auffassung der Frage des religiösen Pluralismus ein und trägt durch die Einbeziehung der analytischen Philosophie, der zeitgenössischen hermeneutischen Tradition und der Sufi-Metaphysik zur Schaffung einer charakteristisch eigenständigen Religionsphilosophie innerhalb des muslimischen intellektuellen Kreises bei. Die Fragen der Erweiterung und Kontraktion des religiösen Wissens sowie der Erweiterung prophetischer Erfahrung sind untrennbare Elemente seiner Religionsphilosophie.
The pluralistic philosophy of religion of Abdolkarim Soroush, whose neo-rationalist thought represents a genuine epistemological turn within Muslim reform discourse, is the central issue in this paper. Abdolkarim Soroush, as a contemporary Muslim thinker, brings a completely new understanding of the issue of religious pluralism and by incorporating analytical philosophy, contemporary hermeneutic tradition and Sufi metaphysics, contributes to the creation of a characteristically distinct philosophy of religion within the Muslim intellectual circle. Issues of expansion and contraction of religious knowledge, as well as the expansion of prophetic experience, are inseparable elements of his philosophy of religion.

The end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century revealed an increase in scientific interest in the problems of Islamic philosophy, especially noticeably in the West, where we encounter new ...achievements of already established authors, but also valuable works of younger generation scientists, who created an entirely new circle of experts within the field of Islamic philosophy. In this paper, we aim to offer an analysis of the most significant studies of Islamic philosophy during the first two decades of the 21st century, based on pointing out the most important titles, whose content and critics recommend them as paradigmatic. Critical research written in the West at the beginning of the 21st century shows that Islamic philosophy, even in its most recent phase, remains predominantly related to the metaphysical and epistemological problems characteristic of classical Muslim philosophical thought. We take as a frame of reference to present in the task outlined above, among the many authors, the works of Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Peter Adamson, Massimo Campanini, Richard Taylor and Ian Richard Netton.
Whether we see in philosophy the Heideggerian-existentialist attempt to establish a difference between Being and being, or in the spirit of the philosophy of existence of the Jasper’s illumination of ...man’s existence in its bond to transcendence, the Husserlian endeavor of a phenomenological return to the very essence of things, or in the Deleuzean insight into the construction of concepts, we find all these elements within what we denote by Islamic philosophy. Within the long and rich history of Muslim philosophical thought, Andalusian philosophy represents the pinnacle of classical Islamic philosophy, whose best intellectual offshoots will be embodied in the works of Ibn Bajja, Ibn Tufayl, Ibn Rushd, Ibn ‘Arabi, Moses Maimonides, and numerous other thinkers. The paper that follows aims to explain the phenomenon of ‘Andalusian philosophy’, taking into account the results of recent research published in scientific studies in the West.

Recent research and numerous titles published in the West have proved views about “the end” of the Islamic philosophy after the death of Averroes to be unfounded, and testified to the existence of a ...rich intellectual tradition developed within Muslim intellectual circles. Epistemology, although inextricably linked to ontology and metaphysics, is one of the disciplines that are particularly cultivated within the later Islamic philosophical thought. This is shown in the article on the example of the doctrine of unification of intellector and intelligible (ittiḥād al-‛āqil wa alma‛qūl), and also on the idea of knowledge-by-presence (‛ilm al-ḥudūrī), which are categories that predominantly belong to Sadrian philosophical tradition.
