In this paper we present newly launched services for open data and for long-term preservation and reuse of high-energy-physics data analyses based on the digital library software Invenio. We track ...the "data continuum" practices through several progressive data analysis phases up to the final publication. The aim is to capture for subsequent generations all digital assets and associated knowledge inherent in the data analysis process, and to make a subset available rapidly to the public. The ultimate goal of the analysis preservation platform is to capture enough information about the processing steps in order to facilitate reproduction of an analysis even many years after its initial publication, permitting to extend the impact of preserved analyses through future revalidation and recasting services. A related "open data" service was launched for the benefit of the general public.

Data preservation is a mandatory specification for any present and future experimental facility and it is a cost-effective way of doing fundamental research by exploiting unique data sets in the ...light of the continuously increasing theoretical understanding. This document summarizes the status of data preservation in high energy physics. The paradigms and the methodological advances are discussed from a perspective of more than ten years of experience with a structured effort at international level. Vacuum glazing is an innovative transparent thermal insulator that has applications in high performance windows. Two sheets of glass are separated by an evacuated space maintained by a regular array ...of support pillars, and the structure is sealed around the edges with solder glass or a metal bond. The evacuated internal gap reduces the heat transfer across the glazing by eliminating air conduction and convection between the glass sheets. This review paper traces the development of vacuum glazingfrom the initial proposal 100 years ago, to the first reported manufacture in 1989 by the University of Sydney, the subsequent commercialisation of that design in 1996 and recent advances. The various design challenges are discussed along with the innovative ways they were successfully addressed by two research groups. Several key non-technical factors that have been equally important to the commercialisation and acceptance of this new technology are also presented. The future prospects for vacuum glazing are discussed in the context of the growing interest in energy efficient buildings and higher standards for the thermal performance of windows.

m samples of vacuum glazing has been measured in accurately calibrated guarded hot box instruments. The results obtained agree to within experimental error (±6%) with those estimated on the basis of local measurements of heat transfer due to radiation, pillar conduction and lateral heat flow through the edge seal. Sources of mechanical tensile stress in vacuum glazing are identified. Stresses due to atmospheric pressure occur in the vicinity of the pillars, and (in poorly designed glazing) near the edge seal. Stresses due to temperature differences are influenced by many factors including the external heat transfer coefficients, level of insulation of the glazing, edge insulation, and edge constraints. Methods of estimating these stresses are discussed. It is shown that vacuum glazing can be designed with adequately low stresses, and low thermal conductance.
The general description of the development of psychomotor preparedness of servicemen of the Armed forces of Ukraine in extreme conditions of activities is given in the article. It is stated that the ...servicemen’s psychomotor development is influenced by their personal qualities. It is established that there is a certain correlation between the level of psychomotor preparedness and personality traits of subjects of extreme activities. The psychomotor (physical) preparedness of servicemen is studied by means of establishing the level of development of such qualities as speed – running at 100 m, strength – tightening on a high bar, endurance – running at 1000 m, agility – possession of hand-to-hand combat techniques. It is proved that psychomotor preparedness of servicemen is a process of development of their physical (psychomotor) qualities. An element of the psychological structure of psychomotor training of servicemen is the concept of their own psychomotor qualities that affect their personality traits. It is revealed that servicemen with high personal anxiety in extreme situations can not fully disclose their psychomotor capabilities. A significant reduction in the level of personal anxiety with an increase in the level of psychomotor preparedness provides benefits in many extreme situations and allows you to feel comfortable. У статті подано загальну характеристику діяльнісного підходу як методологічної основи дослідження психомоторики суб’єкта, його професійно значущих психомоторних якостей і особливостей їх прояву в ...екстремальних умовах. Розкрито зв’язки між індивідуально-типологічними властивостями нервової системи працівників екстремальних професій (за психомоторними виявами) та ефективністю їх діяльності. Досліджено силу нервової системи через її витривалість за допомогою «теппінг-тесту». Встановлено вплив балансу нервових процесів людини на ефективність виконання професійних обо в’язків у екстремальних умовах. Досліджено вплив інертності-рухливості процесів збудження і гальмування на ефективність діяльності суб’єкта в екстремальних умовах за допомогою кінематометричної ме-тодики Є. Ільїна. Емпірично досліджено особливості взаємозв’язків психомоторної підготовленості працівників екстремального профілю та їх особистісних рис на ефективність діяльності в екстремальних умовах. Установлено вплив різних рівнів психомоторної підготовленості на показники ситуативної й особистісної тривожності. Доведено, що рівень психомоторної підготовленості пов’язаний зі стилем конфліктної поведінки суб’єкта екстремальної діяльності. Констатовано, що рівень психомоторної підготовленості, відображаючись у самосвідомості суб’єкта, впливає на його поведінку і разом з іншими чинниками формує особистісні риси, зокрема й важливі для ефективної діяльності в екстремальних умовах. Зазначено, що емоційна стійкість в умовах змагань, здатність до опрацювання інформації в умовах дефіциту часу, точність рухів тісно взаємопов’язані з ефективністю діяльності суб’єкта в екстремальних умовах.
A temperature difference across a sample of vacuum glazing causes differential expansion of one glass sheet relative to the other. In vacuum glazing with a fused edge seal, this results in tensile ...and compressive stresses in the glass sheets, and bending of the structure. The physical origins of these stresses and deflections are discussed, and a finite element model is used to determine their magnitude. The model has been validated by comparison with experimental data for a well-characterised sample of vacuum glazing under accurately defined external conditions. Modelling data are presented for two glazing designs which have properties that are characteristic of the extremes of performance of this type of glazing. It is shown that mechanical edge constraints can profoundly alter the spatial distribution of stresses in the glazing.
The substantial progress in the science and technology of vacuum glazing that has occurred over the past few years is reviewed. Vacuum glazing up to 1 m × 1 m in size has been produced with an ...air-to-air, mid-device thermal conductance as low as 0.90 W m
−2 K
−1, compared with 1.3 W m
−2 K
−1 for high performance double glazing. The mechanical tensile stresses in vacuum glazing due to pressure and temperature differentials are well understood, and appear to be tolerably small. The internal vacuum is high, and extremely stable over long times at moderate temperatures. The likely cost of volume production of vacuum glazing should be only slightly greater than for high performance double glazing.

These views have been collected ...through the High Energy Physics (HEP) Software Foundation's (HSF) Analysis Facilities forum, established in March 2022, the Analysis Ecosystems II workshop, that took place in May 2022, and the WLCG/HSF pre-CHEP workshop, that took place in May 2023. The paper attempts to cover all the aspects of an analysis facility.
