This article examines the peculiarities of modal-emotional connotations used in English-language texts in maritime documents, the functional and semantic characteristics of subjective modality units ...(epistemic, axiological, aletic and deontic) are studied.
The results of the research based on the material of maritime-related documents showed that despite the fact that the main distinctive characteristics of the documents include the presence of factual (cognitive) information, the monosemantics of the used terms and distinct content of the text, the author’s personal attitude to the researched problem, his individual characteristics of speech and personality often appear in the texts of the documents. Moreover, the emotional and modal characteristics of the analyzed texts, their orientation, do not in any way interfere with the cognitive semantics of the text.
Despite the fact that modal values are subject to the pragmatic task of the work, the goal, which is dedicated to one topic, and the clear structure of presenting the research results, the functional and semantic side of documentary texts is formed not only at the expense of the objective component, but at the expence of the subjective one too. That is why syntactic (parallel constructions emphatic word order, constructions with interjections and with the meaning of intellectual assessment) and morphological (perfect / imperfect verb forms), stylistic (epithets, comparisons) are widely used alongside with lexical means of expression. Some features of the content structure of the work are related to national or cultural peculiarities. An absolutely isomorphic feature of the compared scientific works is that the methods, techniques and manner of language communication is closely connected with the features of the person’s speech, his professional style and his individuality. Explicit presentation of modal meanings strengthens the emphasis on the importance of the introduced information

The article examines the principles of maritime terms terminology formation, and provides their translation into Ukrainian. Under the conditions of the English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English ...dictionaries absence in the field of the maritime industry, the problem of scientific and technical literature translation, being a tool of intercultural communication, acquires special attention.
Maritime terms correspond to the well-known classification of scientific and technical terms, among which general scientific, general technical and highly specialized terms are distinguished. The results of the experiment demonstrate that the term system (TC) of various marine-related industries belongs to the group of macro term systems; among them we can single out the following ones: singlecomponent terms, divided into simple or root terms, affixer ones and complex; multi-component terms with the number of components from 2 to 5 units; abbreviations of initial letters, syllables, acronyms, double abbreviations (that combine initial letters and abbreviations of the morphological and syntactic level). The considered means of forming terminological units help to understand the ways of their generation or transformation in maritime discourse and the principles of their combination. Translators and specialists in the field of marine topicality try to preserve the meaning of a foreign term in the translation language as accurately as possible.
Some differences that appear in translation of English terms are presented by three main varieties: differences in the morphological and syntactic structure, differences in lexical structure, differences in lexical and grammatical structure
of the terms.
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of investment decisions of Estonian farms after the transition to market economy and accession to the European Union (EU), in the ...period 2006–2019.Design/methodology/approachThe paper employs Estonian Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) individual farm-level data from the period 2006–2019, and standard and augmented accelerator investment models. Generalised methods of moments (GMM) and bias-corrected least-squares dummy variables (LSDVC) regressions were used to estimate parameters of these models.FindingsIn the considered period, farm investments were positively affected by sales growth, investment subsidies and the cash flow. Decomposition of cash flow into volatile, market income related part, and more stable, farm subsidies related part indicated that investments do not depend on market income part of cash flow. Instead, the stable part of the cash flow (farm subsidies) had a significant and positive effect on investments. This suggests that credit rationing could be present in the EU agriculture, and it depends on the farm subsidies not market income of farms.Originality/valueDespite the wealth of literature on the investment behaviour of farmers, this article is the first attempt to decompose farm cash flow into stable (farm subsidies) and volatile (market income) parts to explain the role of subsidies as a part of cash flow in credit rationing.
The paper investigates the technical efficiency of conventional and organic dairy farms in Estonia in the period 2006‒2015 using Farm Accountancy Data Network. We analyse self-selection into organic ...farming using the propensity-score-matching approach and explicitly test the hypothesis that organic and conventional farms apply homogeneous technology. We find that organic farms are less efficient. However, the difference in technical efficiency between organic and conventional farms decreases substantially when the technical efficiency assessment incorporates the use of the appropriate technology. The lack of growth of technical efficiency over time indicates that there might be a lack of knowledge in organic milk production that hinders its development. Since technical efficiency increases with farm size, it is important that organic dairy farms increase their scale.
In this study, a procedure for selecting the optimal heat-accumulating material based on phase transitions for the economical maintenance of poultry farms by applying ANOVA to complex solid bodies’ ...thermodynamic parameters is described. The relevance of the topic is due to its importance for the development of an energy-saving technology based on the release or absorption of significant heat during the crystallization or melting of materials. The applicability of one-way ANOVA for the selection of the optimal material with a specific functional purpose was demonstrated. As result, the best composition for maintaining a normal temperature regime in poultry farms that could meet all the requirements imposed on heat-storage materials was determined. It was found that magnesium sulphate heptahydrate is such a material.
This study examines young people’s perspectives on local government bodies’ and universities’ roles in revitalizing de-occupied territories. A mixed-methods approach was deployed to examine their ...roles in returning and retaining young people in these areas. An initial quantitative survey was conducted among 1,180 young individuals from Berdyansk and its district (a temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine), focusing on the prospects of their return after de-occupation. A subsequent “Youth of Berdyansk” forum assembled roughly 300 participants, including university and local government representatives, to further explore youth perceptions. Findings revealed that 52.8% of respondents envision their future in the de-occupied region. Local government bodies and universities were seen as crucial for the region’s development and restoration by 92% and 86% of respondents, respectively. Moreover, 69% recognized the potential of partnerships between these institutions to enhance the territories’ appeal. Most respondents indicated readiness to participate in creating recovery strategies (41% absolute readiness, 38% with certain guarantees), though views on youth-centric strategies were mixed (80% agreement, 13% disagreement). The study concludes that local government bodies and universities are critical in the territories’ recovery and development, necessitating explicit engagement and focusing on young people’s needs for effective outcomes.
Subject of research: technology for the production of gluten-free cereal bars
Investigated problem: the development of gluten-free bars with an improved recipe composition, enriched with biologically ...valuable substances, in particular, for people suffering from gluten intolerance.
Main scientific results: Changes in the amino acid composition of sorghum grain due to microwave processing were determined. Formulations of cereal bars were developed using the following ingredients: bananas, dates, coconut flakes, buckwheat flakes, almonds, flax seeds, sorghum pop sorghum, vanilla sugar. The advantages of the biological value of pop sorghum as a promising ingredient in bars were revealed. The influence of the content of pop sorghum in the amount of 4, 6, 8 % in the recipe of cereal bars on their organoleptic and structural-mechanical properties was determined, the nutritional and energy value of the products was established. It was revealed that the introduction of pop sorghum into the composition of the recipe for cereal bars had a significant effect on the maximum load, deformation at maximum load and the coefficient of elasticity of bars. Practical recommendations on the recipe composition of gluten-free cereal bars for pop sorghum and technological modes of their production were developed.
The area of practical use of the research results: food enterprises for the production of snacks and functional products, in particular, food concentrate enterprises, restaurants, craft food production.

The terminology of music semiology, which is an academic discipline with a significant educational resonance and a necessary component of music and educational practice at its higher educational and ...qualification levels, lies at the intersection of the main aspects of musicology such as the history of music, the theory and analysis of musical forms, music aesthetics and the theory of music interpretation, and others. Music semiology covers the transitional methodological abilities due to its subject reference points and the wide range of the material involved in the cognitive field. Music semiology can be considered a necessary basic discipline for the professional training of musicologists and practicing musicians of any programme. There is no doubt about the importance of mastering the language system, which is fundamental in the chosen field of communication. As an academic discipline, music semiology can be presented according to the way its terminology is built, it includes three main themes among which each of the following continues the meaning of the previous one by deepening and enlarging, detailing in an analytical way. Scientific novelty is determined by the fact that unlike music semiotics and the theory of music semantics.
