This study analyzes the existing solutions to the problem with remote electric-impedance measurements in which a long line connects the measured object to the measuring instrument. It is specifically ...the case in an experimental study of the impact of test conditions on high-frequency properties of dielectric and magnetic materials and characteristics of radio components when the location of a specified object near the measuring instrument and the operator is impossible. The main criterion was the possibility of selecting the measuring frequency-to-line length ratio while maintaining the measurement accuracy. The subjects of the analysis are the existing inventions grouped according to the similarity of the methods for recording the parameters of line, two types of present-day impedance meters, and two modifications of one of them. It is shown that the known inventions and impedance meters generally have limited capabilities, and only the mentioned modifications can serve as the basis for measuring instruments that are able to cardinally solve the problem.
The active channels in AlGaN/GaN‐based heterostructures are studied under different applied electrical fields to identify the Joule heating factors affecting the temperature values in the channels. ...The temperature in active channels of two different lengths (30 and 180 µm) is characterized using optical methods, and electrical methods are used as a reference. The technique of optical thermometry is based on the data of micro‐photoluminescence and micro‐Raman experiments. The electrical method is based on the measurements of current–voltage characteristics for comparison. It is shown that photoluminescence‐ and electrical‐based temperature values demonstrate similar behavior and good correlation. The Raman‐based method, exploiting the temperature dependence of the frequency position of E2high vibrational band in GaN, shows a significant deviation compared with electrical‐ and luminescence‐based methods. This deviation is shown to be related to the residual mechanical strain in the layered structure and the formation of hot phonons. The influence of hot phonons and mechanical strain effects increases at high electrical load (>5 kV cm−1) and at high temperatures (>400 °C), respectively.

A new method has been proposed for determining the structure of complex biological and physical systems from their electromagnetic fields. The method is based on spectral analysis of multichannel ...time series. Optimization of the Fourier transform is achieved by integrating long-term time series. Fine tuning to a given frequency is also possible to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. When analyzing a detailed multichannel spectrum, the signal is reconstructed at each frequency and the inverse problem is solved for the resulting field map. Using the model of one elementary source allows one to correctly solve the inverse problem by exhaustive search. The set of found elementary sources for all frequencies represents the functional structure of the complex system being studied. The method was verified on computer and physical models, after which it was successfully applied in various biological problems. The separation of the encephalogram into a signal from the brain and physiological noise was obtained.
The functional tomography method, based on the spectral analysis of multichannel time series of long duration, has been used to study the distribution of electrical sources in the human body. The ...spontaneous activity of various organs and tissues has been studied. The spatial distribution and directions of elementary sources of alpha rhythm in the brain have been examined. Spontaneous brain activity has been studied in mental disorders. Using a cardiogram, the functional structure of the heart has been found, and using myography data, working skeletal muscles have been reconstructed. The spatial distribution of moving magnetic nanoparticles was also found. The coincidence of the results with the anatomical and physical structure of the complex systems being studied confirms the high promise of the proposed method in various fundamental and applied problems.
Проаналізовано особливості використання технології OpenMP у розпаралеленні розрахунку електростатичного поля для класів систем електронної оптики, граничні поверхні електродів яких володіють абелевою ...групою симетрії скінченного порядку. У процесі математичного моделювання потенціальних полів виникає необхідність розв'язувати системи лінійних алгебричних рівнянь великих розмірностей. Задачі розрахунку електростатичних полів вдається значно спростити шляхом максимального врахування наявної геометричної симетрії в конфігурації поверхонь електродів. Використання апарату теорії груп дає змогу забезпечити стійкість обчислень, створює усі передумови до розпаралелення процедур розв'язування складних тривимірних задач електростатики загалом. Таким способом зменшено обчислювальну складність у роз'язуванні систем лінійних алгебричних рівнянь, які апроксимують відповідні інтегральні. Для зменшення часу на обчислення запропоновано аплікацію методів математичного моделювання електростатичних полів із сучасними тенденціями розвитку комп'ютерної системи. Для реалізації паралельних алгоритмів використано мультиядерну архітектуру процесорів та таку властивість, як багатопотоковість. Оптимізація обчислювального процесу у розв'язуванні задач електронної оптики, що зумовлена бурхливим розвитком сучасних нанотехнологій та новими вимогами щодо швидкодії обчислень, реалізована з використанням технології паралельного програмування OpenMP. Проведено низку чисельних експериментів. Розглянуто класи систем із симетріями восьмого та шістнадцятого порядків. Використовуючи восьми- та шістнадцятиядерний процесори, шляхом варіації кількості паралельних потоків вдалось істотно зменшити час обчислень. Цим самим вдалось збільшити прискорення та ефективність паралельного алгоритму порівняно з послідовним. Підтверджено доцільність застосування пакету OpenMP для розпаралелення обчислень і вказано на можливість подальшої оптимізації програмного забезпечення для розв'язування класів задач зі симетріями скінченних порядків за критерієм мінімізації часу розрахунків за рахунок варіації кількості паралельних потоків та процесорних ядер комп'ютера.
В статье представлены материалы о некоторых проблемах подготовки и проведения переписи населения в Чувашской Республике. Источниковой базой послужили наблюдения семи переписчиков, четверо из которых ...работали в Чебоксарах и трое — в сельских населенных пунктах. При общем положительном или нейтральном отношении к переписи населения зафиксированы достаточно многочисленные случаи ее негативного восприятия, откровенные отказы от участия в важном государственном мероприятии. Основное внимание переписчиками было уделено особенностям ответов различных групп населения на вопросы о языках и национальной принадлежности. По полученным данным, на городских участках сравнительно с переписью 2010 г. зафиксирована более высокая доля русских и меньшая — чувашей. В отличие от ряда социологических опросов выявлена менее заметная доля лиц со сложной этнической и языковой идентичностью. По мнению переписчиков, подобная самоидентификация была для многих граждан понятной, но непривычной, и они чаще выбирали одну этническую принадлежность и один родной язык, считая такой выбор соответствующим неким правилам и определенным традициям.
The article describes some problems of preparing and conducting the population census in the Chuvash Republic. It is based on the observations of seven census takers, four of whom worked in Cheboksary and three in rural settlements. Along with a generally positive or neutral attitude to the population census, there were quite numerous cases of negative perception and outright refusals to participate in this important state event. The census takers paid special attention to the responses of various population groups to the questions about languages and nationality. According to the census data, there is a higher share of Russians and a smaller share of the Chuvash in urban areas compared to the 2010 census. In contrast to a number of sociological surveys, a less significant share of people with complex ethnic and linguistic identity was revealed. According to the census takers, many citizens found such complex self‑identification understandable, but unusual, and usually tended to choose single ethnicity and single native language. Such a choice seemed to correspond to certain rules and traditions of the society.
