This study aimed to investigate factors that influence the assessment of child attention behaviors by parents from low-income households. This study extends previous research on attention by ...investigating child and environmental factors as predictors of parent reports of attention behaviors. Questionnaires from 123 parents from low-income households concerning child attention behaviors, child temperament, and home environment were completed. Child attention skills were assessed using three computerized attention network tasks. The hypothesis that child attention skills, child temperament, and the home environment would be additive in its predictive relation to parent reports of problem attention behaviors was supported. Specifically, higher ratings of problem attention behavior were predicted by lower executive attention skills, lower effortful control, higher surgency/extraversion and negative affect, and higher home chaos. The results have implications for intervention development, research on parent reports, and the diagnoses of attention problems.
Australian Divisions of General Practice have a key role to play in supporting
general practitioners (GPs) to provide proactive, preventive care for their
patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) ...and diabetes. They can achieve this
by providing them with quality improvement information generated by population
health monitoring tools such as CARDIAB®™.
CARDIAB®™ has prompted the development of standard minimum
clinical datasets, enabled recording, monitoring and audit of quality of care
and health outcomes for diabetes and cardiovascular patients who are locally
enrolled in Division programs. It has also supported the improvement of services
within general practice and local secondary care services. GPs have been able to
audit their clinical performance and monitor quality of care and health outcomes
in diabetes and cardiovascular disease. This article describes the evolution of
the CARDIAB®™ database from the grass roots level to a
nationally accepted database.
Ninety-two adolescents, predominantly ethnic minority high school students, participated in a structured Summer Business Institute (SBI). Participating youth were randomly assigned to receive either ...job social skills or financial management skills training components. Students who additionally received the job social skills training component were more likely to recommend their employment agency to others than were youth who received the financial management component, rated their overall on-the-job work experience more favorably, and demonstrated higher scores in areas that were relevant to the skills that were taught in the job social skills workshops. The financial management component also appeared to be relatively effective, as youth who received this intervention improved their knowledge of financial management issues more than youth who received job social skills, and rated their workshops as more helpful in financial management, as well as insurance management. Future directions are discussed in light of these results.

Workshop on Recent Issues in Bioanalysis (16
WRIB) took place in Atlanta, GA, USA on September 26-30, 2022. Over 1000 professionals representing pharma/biotech companies, CROs, and multiple ...regulatory agencies convened to actively discuss the most current topics of interest in bioanalysis. The 16th WRIB included 3 Main Workshops and 7 Specialized Workshops that together spanned 1 week in order to allow exhaustive and thorough coverage of all major issues in bioanalysis, biomarkers, immunogenicity, gene therapy, cell therapy and vaccines. Moreover, in-depth workshops on the ICH M10 BMV final guideline (focused on this guideline training, interpretation, adoption and transition); mass spectrometry innovation (focused on novel technologies, novel modalities, and novel challenges); and flow cytometry bioanalysis (rising of the 3rd most common/important technology in bioanalytical labs) were the special features of the 16
edition. As in previous years, WRIB continued to gather a wide diversity of international, industry opinion leaders and regulatory authority experts working on both small and large molecules as well as gene, cell therapies and vaccines to facilitate sharing and discussions focused on improving quality, increasing regulatory compliance, and achieving scientific excellence on bioanalytical issues. This 2022 White Paper encompasses recommendations emerging from the extensive discussions held during the workshop and is aimed to provide the bioanalytical community with key information and practical solutions on topics and issues addressed, in an effort to enable advances in scientific excellence, improved quality and better regulatory compliance. Due to its length, the 2022 edition of this comprehensive White Paper has been divided into three parts for editorial reasons. This publication (Part 1A) covers the recommendations on Mass Spectrometry and ICH M10. Part 1B covers the Regulatory Agencies' Inputs on Bioanalysis, Biomarkers, Immunogenicity, Gene & Cell Therapy and Vaccine. Part 2 (LBA, Biomarkers/CDx and Cytometry) and Part 3 (Gene Therapy, Cell therapy, Vaccines and Biotherapeutics Immunogenicity) are published in volume 15 of Bioanalysis, issues 15 and 14 (2023), respectively.

The Divisions Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Quality Improvement Project (DDCQIP) is a national project that aims to promote quality improvement initiatives among Divisions of General Practice. ...DDCQIP has investigated the growth of Division-based diabetes and cardiovascular disease register-recall systems and the role they play in promoting evidence-based structured care within general practice. In the period 2000-2002, an increase in the number of GPs using register-recall systems and the rise in the number of active registered patients have made it possible to monitor quality of care and health outcome indicators, and contributed to the growth of a Division-based population health program.
