The fabrication of silicon anode materials using biomass resources enables the effective utilization of subsidiary agricultural products in battery industries, despite the electrochemical ...performances of these as-synthesized silicon materials still need improvements. Using rice husk (RH) as silicon source, here we report for the first time the fabrication of silicon/nitrogen-doped carbon/carbon nanotube (SNCC) nano/micro-hierarchical structured spheres through a facile electrospray approach. The unique hierarchical hybrid structure of the composite spheres, in which the silicon nanoparticles are homogenously encapsulated in the highly conductive, porous carbon matrix built by carbon nanotubes and nitrogen-doped carbon, contributes to fast electronic transport and prevents silicon from pulverization possessing good structure stability upon the synergistic lithiation/delithiation of the components. These SNCC spheres could deliver a high reversible specific capacity of 1380mAhg−1 at a current density of 0.5Ag−1, and still maintain 1031mAhg−1 after 100 cycles. The low cost RH-derived silicon composites synthesized by a facile, scalable synthetic method turn out to be promising for the next-generation rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

LncRNAs can be transported to tumor cells where they exert regulatory effects by bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSC)-derived exosomes. Here, we aimed to investigate the functional mechanism of ...BMSC-derived exosomal lncRNA PTENP1 in the progression of bladder cancer (BC). Methods of BMSC were identified by detecting surface markers through flow cytometry. Exosomes from BMSC were identified by transmission electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), and western blot analysis of exosome markers. Cellular internalization of BMSC-derived exosomes (BMSC-Exo) into BC cells was detected by confocal microscopy. CCK-8, colony formation, flow cytometry, wound healing, and transwell assays were adopted to estimate cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion abilities, respectively. Interplay between miR-17 and lncRNA PTENP1 or SCARA5 was verified by dual-luciferase reporter, RNA pull down, and/or RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assays. Tumor xenograft assay was conducted in nude mice to study the role of exosomal lncRNA PTENP1 in BC progression in vivo. We showed exosomal lncRNA PTENP1 can be delivered into and suppress the malignant phenotypes of BC cells. -Exo) abolished the promotive effects of miR-17 overexpression or SCARA5 knockdown on the malignant phenotypes of BC cells. Moreover, exosomal lncRNA PTENP1 was demonstrated to inhibit BC tumor growth in nude mice by miR-17/SCARA5 axis. In conclusion, BMSC-derived exosomal PTENP1 suppressed the BC progression by upregulating the expression of SCARA5 via sponging miR-17, offering a potential novel therapeutic target for BC therapy.
A new approach combining the certainty factor（CF） and analytic hierarchy process（AHP） methods was proposed to assess landslide susceptibility in the Ziyang district, which is situated in the Qin-Ba ...Mountain region, China. Landslide inventory data were collected based on field investigations and remote sensing interpretations. A total of 791 landslides were identified. A total of 633 landslides were randomly selected from this data setas the training set, and the remaining landslides were used for validation as the test set. Nine factors, including the slope angle, slope aspect, slope curvature, lithology, distance to faults, distance to streams, precipitation, road network intensity degree and land use were chosen as the landslide causal factors for further susceptibility assessment. The weight of each factor and its subclass were calculated by AHP and CF methods. Landslide susceptibility was compared between the bivariate statistical method and the proposed CF-AHP method. The results indicate that the distance to streams, distance to faults and lithology are the most dominant causal factors associated with landslides. The susceptibility zonation was categorized into five classes of landslide susceptibility, i.e., very high, high, moderate, low and very low level. Lastly, the relative operating characteristics（ROC） curve was used to validate the accuracy of the new approach, and the result showed a satisfactory prediction rate of 78.3%, compared to 69.2% obtained with the landslide susceptibility index method. The results indicate that the CF-AHP combined method is more appropriate for assessing the landslide susceptibility in this area.

Expression of UFM1 in gastric tumor and paired adjacent noncancerous tissues from 437 patients was analyzed by Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and realtime PCR. Its correlation with the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of gastric cancer patients was analyzed. The effects of UFM1 on the invasion and migration of gastric cancer cells were determined by the wound and trans-well assays, and the effect of UFM1 on subcutaneous tumor formation was verified in nude mice. The potential downstream targets of UFM1 and related molecular mechanisms were clarified by the human protein kinase assay and co-immunoprecipitation technique.
Compared with the corresponding adjacent tissues, the transcription level and protein expression level of UFM1 in gastric cancer tissues were significantly downregulated (P < 0.05). The 5-year survival rate of gastric cancer patients with low UFM1 expression was significantly lower than the patients with high UFM1 expression (42.1% vs 63.0%, P < 0.05). The invasion and migration abilities of gastric cancer cells with stable UFM1 overexpression were significantly decreased, and the gastric cancer cells with UFM1 stable knockdown showed the opposite results; similar results were also obtained in the nude mouse model. Further studies have revealed that UFM1 could increase the ubiquitination level of PDK1 and decrease the expression of PDK1 at protein level, thereby inhibiting the phosphorylation level of AKT at Ser473. Additionally, the effect of UFM1 on gastric cancer cell function is dependent on the expression of PDK1. The expression level of UFM1 can improve the poor prognosis of PDK1 in patients with gastric cancer.
UFM1 suppresses the invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer by increasing the ubiquitination of PDK1 through negatively regulating PI3K/AKT signaling.
BACKGROUNDHepatorenal syndrome (HRS) is a severe complication of cirrhosis with high mortality, which necessitates accurate clinical decision. However, studies on prognostic factors and scoring ...systems to predict overall survival of HRS are not enough. Meanwhile, a multicenter cohort study with a long span of time could be more convincing. AIMTo develop a novel and effective prognostic model for patients with HRS and clarify new prognostic factors. METHODSWe retrospectively enrolled 1667 patients from four hospitals, and 371 eligible patients were finally analyzed to develop and validate a novel prognostic model for patients with HRS. Characteristics were compared between survivors and non-survivors, and potential prognostic factors were selected according to the impact on 28-d mortality. Accuracy in predicting 28-d mortality was compared between the novel and other scoring systems, including Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD), Chronic Liver Failure-Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (CLIF-SOFA), and Chinese Group on the Study of Severe Hepatitis B-Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (COSSH-ACLF). RESULTSFive prognostic factors, comprised of gender, international normalized ratio, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, neutrophil percentage, and stage, were integrated into a new score, GIMNS; stage is a binary variable defined by the number of failed organs. GIMNS was positively correlated with MELD, CLIF-SOFA, and COSSH-ACLF. Additionally, it had better accuracy area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC): 0.830 than MELD (AUROC: 0.759), CLIF-SOFA (AUROC: 0.767), and COSSH-ACLF (AUROC: 0.759) in the derivation cohort (P < 0.05). It performed better than MELD and CLIF-SOFA in the validation cohort (P < 0.050) and had a higher AUROC than COSSH-ACLF (P = 0.122). CONCLUSIONWe have developed a new scoring system, GIMNS, to predict 28-d mortality of HRS patients. Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and stage were first proposed and found to be related to the mortality of HRS. Additionally, the GIMNS score showed better accuracy than MELD and CLIF-SOFA, and the AUROC was higher than that of COSSH-ACLF.

FsoE is a P450 enzyme that catalyzes successive oxidation reactions at C19 to facilitate a C-C bond cleavage, producing an oxidized carboxyl group and a reduced methyl group that have never been observed in known P450 enzymes. Our study thus sets the important foundation for the manufacture of enfumafungin-type antibiotics using biosynthetic approaches.
To explore the computed tomography (CT) features of gastric cancer (GC) patients with DNA mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR).
This study reviewed the clinical and CT features of GC patients with dMMR, ...confirmed by the postoperative results, between September 2017 and December 2019. The expression pattern of MMR major proteins (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, and PMS2) in immunohistochemistry was used to confirm the MMR status in GC tissues. The correlation between pre-treatment CT features and MMR status was statistically analyzed.
A total of 28 patients with GC were diagnosed as dMMR in our study, and 49 patients were MMR-proficient (pMMR). The tumor locations were significantly different between the dMMR and pMMR groups (p = 0.006). The CT tumor thickness, CT long and short diameters of the largest lymph node, and the number of lymph nodes on CT of the dMMR group were significantly different from the pMMR group.
The dMMR GC exhibited a lower stomach location, smaller tumor thickness and lymph node diameter, and fewer lymph nodes on CT imaging.

With the vast amounts of omics data generated at ever-greater scales and rates, the BIG Data Center is continually expanding, updating and enriching its core database resources through big-data integration and value-added curation, including BioCode (a repository archiving bioinformatics tool codes), BioProject (a biological project library), BioSample (a biological sample library), Genome Sequence Archive (GSA, a data repository for archiving raw sequence reads), Genome Warehouse (GWH, a centralized resource housing genome-scale data), Genome Variation Map (GVM, a public repository of genome variations), Gene Expression Nebulas (GEN, a database of gene expression profiles based on RNA-Seq data), Methylation Bank (MethBank, an integrated databank of DNA methylomes), and Science Wikis (a series of biological knowledge wikis for community annotations). Post-transplant relapse remains a principal leading cause of failure after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in patients with adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). ...The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of low-dose decitabine on the prevention of adult ALL relapse after allo-HSCT.
In this prospective study, we enrolled 34 patients with ALL who underwent allo-HSCT from August 2016 to April 2020 and received low-dose decitabine maintenance treatment after transplantation. The primary objectives were cumulative incidence of relapse rate (CIR), overall survival (OS), and disease-free survival (DFS). The secondary objectives were graft-
-host disease (GVHD) and safety.
Among the enrolled 34 patients, 6 patients relapsed and 6 patients died. The 2-year CIR, OS, and DFS were 20.2, 77.5, and 73.6%, respectively. Subgroup analysis revealed the 2-year CIR, OS, and DFS rates of 12 patients with T-ALL/lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL) were 8.3, 90, and 81.5%, respectively. None of the seven patients with T-ALL relapsed. During maintenance treatment, only one patient (2.9%) developed grade IV acute GVHD and four (11.8%) patients had severe chronic GVHD. Thirty-two patients (94.1%) developed only grade I to II myelosuppression, and two patients (5.8%) developed grade III to IV granulocytopenia.
Maintenance treatment with low-dose decitabine after allo-HSCT may be used as a therapeutic option to reduce relapse in patients with adult ALL, especially in patients with T-ALL. Our findings require confirmation in larger-scale controlled trials.
