At the present stage, only by improving and innovating economic management can enterprises achieve leapfrog development and adapt to the development requirements of the post-financial crisis era. Only in this way can we further integrate human and material resources, grasp the close market relations and enable ourselves to occupy absolute advantages in the enterprise market. This paper is to discuss the research around the empirical study of the interaction between finance and marine economy in China, hoping to provide a feasible method for enterprises in economic management.
Approximately 4000 diseases are associated with malfunctioning genes in a particular cell type. Gene-based therapy provides a platform to modify the disease-causing genes expression at the cellular ...level to treat pathological conditions. However, gene delivery is challenging as these therapeutic genes need to overcome several physiological and intracellular barriers in order, to reach the target cells. Over the years, efforts have been dedicated to develop efficient gene delivery vectors to overcome these systemic barriers. Chitosan, a versatile polysaccharide, is an attractive non-viral vector material for gene delivery mainly due to its cationic nature, biodegradability and biocompatibility. The present review discusses the design factors that are critical for efficient gene delivery/transfection and highlights the recent progress of gene therapy using chitosan-based carriers.

Qingfei Paidu decoction (QFPD), a multi-component herbal formula, has been widely used to treat COVID-19 in China. However, its active compounds and mechanisms of action are still unknown. Firstly, we divided QFPD into five functional units (FUs) according to the compatibility theory of traditional Chinese medicine. The corresponding common targets of the five FUs were all significantly enriched in Go Ontology (oxidoreductase activity, lipid metabolic process, homeostatic process, etc.), KEGG pathways (steroid biosynthesis, PPAR signaling pathway, adipocytokine signaling pathway, etc.), TTD diseases (chronic inflammatory diseases, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary Disease, etc.), miRNA (MIR183), kinase (CDK7) and TF (LXR). QFPD contained 257 specific targets in addition to HCoV, pneumonia and ACE2 co-expression proteins. Then, network topology analysis of the five components-target-pathway-disease networks yielded 67 active ingredients. In addition, ADMET estimations showed that 20 compounds passed the stringent lead-like criteria and in silico drug-likeness test with high gastrointestinal absorption and the median lethal dose (LD50 > 1600 mg/kg). Moreover, 4 specific ingredients (M3, S1, X2 and O2) and 5 common ingredients (MS1, MX16, SX1, WO1 and XO1) of QFPD presented good molecular docking score for 2019-nCov structure and non-structure proteins. Finally, drug perturbation of COVID-19 network robustness showed that all five FUs may protect COVID-19 independently, and target 8 specifically expressed drug-attacked nodes which were related to the bacterial and viral responses, immune system, signaling transduction, etc. In conclusion, our new FUNP analysis showed that QFPD had a protection effect on COVID-19 by regulating a complex molecular network with safety and efficacy. Part of the mechanism was associated with the regulation of anti-viral, anti-inflammatory activity and metabolic programming.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common gastrointestinal malignancy with high morbidity and fatality. Chemotherapy, as traditional therapy for CRC, has exerted well antitumor effect and greatly improved ...the survival of CRC patients. Nevertheless, chemoresistance is one of the major problems during chemotherapy for CRC and significantly limits the efficacy of the treatment and influences the prognosis of patients. To overcome chemoresistance in CRC, many strategies are being investigated. Here, we review the common and novel measures to combat the resistance, including drug repurposing (nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs, metformin, dichloroacetate, enalapril, ivermectin, bazedoxifene, melatonin, and S‐adenosylmethionine), gene therapy (ribozymes, RNAi, CRISPR/Cas9, epigenetic therapy, antisense oligonucleotides, and noncoding RNAs), protein inhibitor (EFGR inhibitor, S1PR2 inhibitor, and DNA methyltransferase inhibitor), natural herbal compounds (polyphenols, terpenoids, quinones, alkaloids, and sterols), new drug delivery system (nanocarriers, liposomes, exosomes, and hydrogels), and combination therapy. These common or novel strategies for the reversal of chemoresistance promise to improve the treatment of CRC.
Chemoresistance is the major cause of treatment failure and disease relapse in colorectal cancer (CRC). In addition to some common reversal measures, some novel strategies have sprouted in recent years, including drug repurposing, gene therapy, protein inhibitor, natural herbal compounds, new drug delivery system, and combination therapy, which promise to improve the treatment of CRC.
Aims
To investigate the effect of two clinically applied proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 monoclonal antibodies (PCSK9‐mAbs) on glycaemia and new‐onset diabetes mellitus (NODM).
...Materials and Methods
PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane databases and ClinicalTrials.gov websites were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials that reported data on fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) or NODM incidence. Risk ratios (RRs) for NODM and mean difference (MD) for FPG and HbA1c with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using a fixed‐effect model. Heterogeneity was examined using the I2 statistic and potential publication bias was assessed using funnel plots and Egger’s test.
Results
A total of 18 studies including 26 123 participants without diabetes were identified. No significant difference was observed in the PCSK9‐mAb treatment groups in terms of NODM (RR 1.05, 95% CI 0.95‐1.16), FPG (MD 0.00 mmol/L, 95% CI −0.02 to 0.02) or HbA1c (MD 0.00% 0 mmol/L, 95% CI −0.01 to 0.01) compared with control groups. Subgroup (PCSK9‐mAb type, participant characteristics, treatment duration, treatment method and differences in control treatment) and sensitivity analyses did not significantly alter the results. Meta‐regression analyses showed that risk of NODM was not associated with baseline age, baseline body mass index (BMI), proportion of men, treatment duration or percent LDL cholesterol reduction.
Conclusions
Alirocumab and evolocumab, two types of PCSK9‐mAb approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency, had no significant impact on NODM and glucose homeostasis, regardless of PCSK9‐mAb type, participant characteristics, treatment duration, treatment method and differences in control treatment. Baseline age, BMI, proportion of men, treatment duration, and percent change of LDL cholesterol did not influence diabetes risk.
According to epidemiological studies, particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) is a significant contributor to cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, making causal inferences is difficult due to the ...methodological constraints of observational studies. In this study, we used two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to examine the causal relationship between PM 2.5 and the risk of CVD.
Genome-wide association study (GWAS) statistics for PM2.5 and CVD were collected from the FinnGen and UK Biobanks. Mendelian randomization analyses were applied to explore the causal effects of PM2.5 on CVD by selecting single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) as instrumental variables.
The results revealed that a causal effect was observed between PM2.5 and coronary artery disease(IVW: OR 2.06, 95% CI 1.35, 3.14), and hypertension(IVW: OR 1.07, 95% CI 1.03, 1.12). On the contrary, no causal effect was observed between PM2.5 and myocardial infarction(IVW: OR 0.73, 95% CI 0.44, 1.22), heart failure(IVW: OR 1.54, 95% CI 0.96, 2.47), atrial fibrillation(IVW: OR 1.03, 95% CI 0.71, 1.48), and ischemic stroke (IS)(IVW: OR 0.98, 95% CI 0.54, 1.77).
We discovered that there is a causal link between PM2.5 and coronary artery disease and hypertension in the European population, using MR methods. Our discovery may have the significance of public hygiene to improve the understanding of air quality and CVD risk.
The periosteum is the major source of cells involved in fracture healing. We sought to characterize progenitor cells and their contribution to bone fracture healing. The periosteum is highly enriched ...with progenitor cells, including Sca1
cells, fibroblast colony-forming units, and label-retaining cells compared to the endosteum and bone marrow. Using lineage tracing, we demonstrate that alpha smooth muscle actin (αSMA) identifies long-term, slow-cycling, self-renewing osteochondroprogenitors in the adult periosteum that are functionally important for bone formation during fracture healing. In addition, Col2.3CreER-labeled osteoblast cells contribute around 10% of osteoblasts but no chondrocytes in fracture calluses. Most periosteal osteochondroprogenitors following fracture can be targeted by αSMACreER. Previously identified skeletal stem cell populations were common in periosteum but contained high proportions of mature osteoblasts. We have demonstrated that the periosteum is highly enriched with skeletal progenitor cells, and there is heterogeneity in the populations of cells that contribute to mature lineages during periosteal fracture healing.
To explore the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided injection acupotomy as a minimally invasive intervention treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR).
160 CSR subjects were recruited ...who met the inclusion criteria in our hospital from October 2019 to December 2021. The subjects were randomly divided into the experimental and control group, with 80 cases in each. The experimental group received ultrasound-guided injection acupotomy as a minimally invasive intervention therapy. The control group received ultrasound-guided selective nerve root block (SNRB). The Odom's criteria clinical curative effect, visual analogue scale (VAS), neck disability index (NDI), and 36-Item Short Form Health Survey questionnaire (SF-36) were used to evaluate the outcome of subjects at several different points in time.
At 30 min and 1 month after the end of treatment, there was no significant difference in any scores. However, after six months, the excellent and good rate was better in the experimental group compared to the control (RD = 0.175; 95% CI, 0.044-0.300, p = 0.009). The total effective rate was also better in the experimental group (RD = 0.126; 95% CI, 0.021-0.232, p = 0.018). In contrast, the VAS score (MD = −0.500; 95% CI, −1.000-0.000, p = 0.030) and NDI score (MD = −6.460; 95% CI, −11.067 to −1.852, p = 0.006) were lower in the experimental group compared to the control. The total SF-36 score was higher in the experimental group (MD = 7.568; 95% CI, 2.459-12.677, p = 0.004).
Ultrasound-guided injection acupotomy minimally invasive interventional treatment of CSR has no significant difference in short-term curative effect compared with ultrasound-guided SNRB, but the data indicators are significantly better than the latter at 6 months after the end of the course of treatment, showing better long-term efficacy.
Circular RNAs are a class of regulatory RNA transcripts, which are ubiquitously expressed in eukaryotes. In the current study, we evaluate the function of a novel circRNA derived from the β-catenin ...gene locus, circβ-catenin.
Circβ-catenin is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and displays resistance to RNase-R treatment. We find that circβ-catenin is highly expressed in liver cancer tissues when compared to adjacent normal tissues. Silencing of circβ-catenin significantly suppresses malignant phenotypes in vitro and in vivo, and knockdown of this circRNA reduces the protein level of β-catenin without affecting its mRNA level. We show that circβ-catenin affects a wide spectrum of Wnt pathway-related genes, and furthermore, circβ-catenin produces a novel 370-amino acid β-catenin isoform that uses the start codon as the linear β-catenin mRNA transcript and translation is terminated at a new stop codon created by circularization. We find that this novel isoform can stabilize full-length β-catenin by antagonizing GSK3β-induced β-catenin phosphorylation and degradation, leading to activation of the Wnt pathway.
Our findings illustrate a non-canonical function of circRNA in modulating liver cancer cell growth through the Wnt pathway, which can provide novel mechanistic insights into the underlying mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma.
