Mineral prospectivity mapping (MPM) is a fundamental task in mineral exploration. In recent years, the random forest (RF), which is recognized as a significant model for ensemble machine learning ...algorithms, has been widely used in MPM due to its advantages of high performance and robustness. Nevertheless, the RF method does not fully consider the correlation between variables. In this regard, a hybrid model, namely, the projection pursuit RF (PPRF), has been proposed. In this study, for validation and comparison purposes, the PPRF and ordinary RF methods were employed for the MPM of porphyry Cu–Mo deposits in the Eastern Tianshan orogenic belt, northwestern China, under the same conditions. In the case study, the performance of these two methods was critically investigated. The overall prediction accuracies of the PPRF and RF methods were evaluated by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and prediction–area plot approaches. To analyze the sensitivity of the PPRF and RF methods to unbalanced data caused by the limited number of known deposits in the study area, the synthetic minority oversampling technique was used to generate a balanced dataset. The results demonstrated that the PPRF method not only outperforms the ordinary RF method in the overall accuracy of MPM but is also less sensitive to unbalanced data than the RF method. Therefore, the PPRF method provides a novel and useful data-driven method with excellent performance for MPM. It utilizes the combination of predictor variables in the projection feature space rather than the variables themselves to identify the inherent characteristics of a given dataset and may thus discover deep hidden features that the ordinary RF method cannot find.

Several studies demonstrates that hsa_circ_0023404 plays a crucial role in progression of ...cervical cancer; however, the detailed mechanism of hsa_circ_0023404 regulating cervical cancer metastasis and chemoresistance remains unclear.
We used RT-qPCR and westernblot approach to detect expression levels of various genes in cervical tumors and cancer cells. To examine invasion and lymphatic vessel formation of Human Dermal Lymphatic Endothelial Cells (HDLEC), transwell invasion assay and lymphatic vessel assay were utilized in the presence of conditioned medium of HeLa and SiHa cells. To examine direct interaction between hsa_circ_0023404 and miR-5047, bioinformatic analysis and luciferase reporter assay were used. Besides, MTT and flow cytometry analysis were conducted to assess cell viability and apoptosis rate of HeLa cell.
hsa_circ_0023404 knockdown attenuates invasion of cervical cancer cells and lymphatic vessel formation of HDLEC cells. hsa_circ_0023404 directly interacted with miR-5047. Moreover, miR-5047 inhibitor-transfected HeLa and SiHa cells enhanced invasion and lymphatic vessel formation of HDLEC cells. More interestingly, we confirmed that hsa_circ_0023404 knockdown and miR-5047 mimic downregulated the expression levels of VEGFA. The functional rescue experiments indicated VEGFA acted as key factor for hsa_circ_0023404- and miR-5047-regulated invasion and lymphatic vessel formaion. Ultimately, hsa_circ_0023404 and VEGFA were upregulated and showed positive correlation in cervical tumors, while miR-5047 was downregulated and showed negative correlation with hsa_circ_0023404 and VEGFA. On the other hand, autophagy-associated genes (Beclin1 and p62) were dysregulated in hsa_circ_0023404 depleted and overexpressed HeLa cells. hsa_circ_0023404 knockdown inhibited cell viability of cells, which was obviously abolished by autophagy inhibitor 3-MA in the presence of various concentrations of Cisplatin. Consistently, apoptosis rate was remarkably elevated in hsa_circ_0023404 depleted cells and diminished in hsa_circ_0023404 overexpressed cells under treatment of 2 μg/ml Cisplatin.
Here, we reveal a novel role of hsa_circ_0023404 for cervical cancer metastasis and chemoresistance by regulating miR-5047. Our findings help understand mechanism underlying cervical cancer and development of therapeutical approaches for treating cervical cancer.

Organic amendments are a recyclable resource and can improve soil quality and carbon (C) sequestration, however, the difference in their effects on soil aggregate formation and C sequestration in saline-alkaline soils are less studied. We examined the effects of organic amendments to saline rice paddy fields with 4 treatments: (i) basal paddy soil (CK) lacking amendments (ii) organic fertilizer (OF) treatment at 910 kg C ha−1 from soybean litter and beans (iii) rice straw (RS) treatment at 3600 kg C ha−1 and (iv) rice straw-derived biochar (RS-biochar) treatment at 3600 kg C ha−1. All organic amendments significantly increased the soil organic C (SOC) stock in the 0–30 cm soil layer compared to CK. The SOC stock in the biochar treatment increased by 6.2 and 40.4% over the OF and RS amended treatments, respectively. This was most likely due to the greater levels of aromatic C in RS-biochar at 1.22 and 1.24 times greater than for the other organic amendments, respectively. Soil aggregates of 2–8 mm at 0–15 cm in the OF and RS amended soils were 38.3 and 58.2%, respectively, higher than that from the RS-biochar treatment. The mean weight diameter (MWD) in the OF and RS treatments were 35.4% and 45.8% higher than for the RS-biochar, respectively. MWD was significantly negatively correlated with soil exchangeable Na (p < 0.05). This indicated OF and RS were better than RS-biochar in improving soil aggregate stability. In addition, the C management index values for RS were 21.6 and 45.8% greater than for OF and RS-biochar in the 0–15 cm soil layer, respectively. These data indicated that saline soil aggregate formation and C sequestration improved after organic amendments application, which caused the exchangeable Na to decrease and affected its distribution in aggregates, and changed the composition of C functional groups.

In this paper, the performance of a water spray cooling system is investigated experimentally. The influence factors including the nozzle atomization effect, spray height, heat flux, inlet pressure and gravity angle are discussed. Results show that under the same operating conditions, the main influencing factor is the spray mass flow rate involved in heat transfer. Heat transfer performance becomes better with the increases of mass flow rate. For the same nozzle, the best heat transfer performance appears under the critical height. The performance of spray cooling is improved with the growth of inlet pressure and evaporation intensity under the same inlet temperature. Furthermore, the heat transfer performance is closely related with the gravity angle. The best heat transfer performance appears when the gravity angle is between 30° and 120°. Heat transfer performs the worst when the gravity angle reaches 180°. Besides, experimental dimensionless correlations of Nusselt number are given in non-boiling area with water coolant.
With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence, text detection is widely used in the real world. In text detection, due to the limitation of the receptive field of the neural network, most ...existing scene text detection methods cannot accurately detect small target text instances in any direction, and the detection rate of mutually adhering text instances is low, which is prone to false detection. To tackle such difficulties, in this paper, we propose a new feature pyramid network for scene text detection, Cross-Scale Attention Aggregation Feature Pyramid Network (CSAA-FPN). Specifically, we use a Attention Aggregation Feature Module (AAFM) to enhance features, which not only solves the problem of weak features and small receptive fields extracted by lightweight networks but also better handles multi-scale information and accurately separate adjacent text instances. An attention module CBAM is introduced to focus on effective information so that the output feature layer has richer and more accurate information. Furthermore, we design an Adaptive Fusion Module (AFM), which weights the output features and pays attention to the pixel information to further refine the features. Experiments conducted on CTW1500, Total-Text, ICDAR2015, and MSRA-TD500 have demonstrated the superiority of this model.
Twenty-two years of suspended particulate matter (SPM) concentrations in the Yellow River estuary and adjacent sea, China were derived from 532 Landsat and Sentinel 2A/B satellite images. Optimal SPM ...retrieval model was selected by comparing five state-of-art models using 79 in-situ datasets and recalibrated to ensure consistency among multiple-sensor-derived SPM concentrations. SPM in the estuary, in South Bohai Bay, and Laizhou Bay exhibited distinct temporal variations. 73% and 52% of the interannual and monthly SPM variations near the river mouth were explained by riverine water and sediment discharge, showing impact of the operation of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir and Water-Sediment Regulation Scheme. Land area accretion and erosion in river delta are associated with SPM variation. Riverine impacts on SPM rapidly declined off-shore because of the rapid deposition of the coarse-grain sediment. Ocean current and wind-wave forces explained high concentrations and intra-annual variations of SPM in the South Bohai Bay and Laizhou Bay.

Cervical cancer has been one of the most common cancer in women worldwide. However, the detailed mechanism underlying circMTO1-regulated cervical cancer remains unclear.
RT-qPCR and westernblot were used to examine genes expression levels. Wound healing assay and transwell invasion assay were utilized to probe migration and invasion abilities of cervical cancer cells. In addition, cell viability and apoptosis were measured by MTT and TUNEL assay, respectively. Finally, we employed bioinformatic approach to analyze gene expression levels in clinical cervical cancer tissues.
circMTO1 was shown to be greatly upregulated in cervical cancer cell lines and tumors. circMTO1 directly interacts with miR-6893. miR-6893 could restore circMTO1-regulated migration, invasion and chemoresistance of cervical cancer cells. Furthermore, we identified S100A1 as downstream effector for circMTO1/miR-6893-induced tumorigenesis of cervical cancer cells. Besides, westernblot analyses demonstrated that circMTO1 and miR-6893 inhibitor enhanced Beclin1 expression and downregulated p62 level. We found that autophagy inhibitor 3-MA could revert cell viability and apoptosis of HeLa regulated by circMTO1 and miR-6893 inhibitor. More importantly, the bioinformatic results showed the dysregulated expression patterns of circMTO1, miR-6893 and S100A1 in human clinical cervical cancer tissues.
In summary, we reveal, for the first time, a novel mechanism of circMTO1/miR-6893 in tumorigenesis and chemoresistance of cervical cancer. Our findings support the notion of developing the new therapies and biomarkers by targeting circMTO1 for cervical cancer.
Mediator of IRF3 activation (MITA, also named as STING/ERIS/MPYS/TMEM173), is essential to DNA virus- or cytosolic DNA-triggered innate immune responses. In this study, we demonstrated the negative ...regulatory role of RING-finger protein (RNF) 90 in innate immune responses targeting MITA. RNF90 promoted K48-linked ubiquitination of MITA and its proteasome-dependent degradation. Overexpression of RNF90 inhibited HSV-1- or cytosolic DNA-induced immune responses whereas RNF90 knockdown had the opposite effects. Moreover, RNF90-deficient bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs), bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs) and mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) exhibited increased DNA virus- or cytosolic DNA-triggered signaling and RNF90 deficiency protected mice from DNA virus infection. Taken together, our findings suggested a novel function of RNF90 in innate immunity.
An induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line (SDUCHi001-A) was established using peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from a healthy 6 years old boy. Reprogramming of the PBMCs was achieved ...through non-integrating delivery of OCT4, SOX2, KFL4, BCL-XL, and c-MYC. The iPSC line expressed pluripotency markers, had a normal karyotype and trilineage differentiation potential.
