Objective: The need for intensive care units has increased in the COVID-19 pandemic, and in this process, laboratory parameters are important. We aimed to evaluate the admission symptoms ...retrospectively, comorbid diseases, mean age, and laboratory data of RT-PCR(+) 60 service and 26 intensive care COVID-19 patients, to reveal the clinical and laboratory characteristics of the patients and to define the parameters that will help us about the prognosis..Methods: We divided 86 COVID-19 RT-PCR (+) patients treated in our hospital into two groups as inpatients and intensive care patients. We compared symptom, comorbid disease and laboratory data in these patient groups and compared laboratory data statistically.Results: In our study, while the mean age of intensive care patients was 64, it was 58 in service patients. Comorbid diseases were found in 73% of intensive care patients and 51.6% in service patients. Hypertension (43%) and diabetes mellitus (22%) are the most common comorbid diseases in both groups. In addition, while neutrophil (6.11(1.18-19.7) vs. 3.83(1.51-12.07) 109 /L, p=0.007, N/L ratio 5.74 (1.34-28.86) vs. 2.11 (0.64-9.14), p<0.001, D-dimer 482 (52-2522) vs. 249 (59-3561) µg/L, p=0.001, CRP 91.8 (0.49-331.7) vs. 14 (0-161) mg/L, p< 0.001, and procalcitonin 0.19 (0-6.94) vs. 0.04 (0-0.86) µg/L, p< 0.001 values were found to be significantly higher in intensive care patients, lymphocyte values (1.12±0.54 ) vs. ( 1.81±0.90) 109 /L, p<0.001 were found to be significantly lower.Conclusion: COVID-19 is still affecting our world, and patients need intensive care. Lymphopenia, increase in neutrophil level, N/L ratio, D-dimer, CRP and procalcitonin levels are remarkable in intensive care patients.
Amaç: COVID-19 pandemisinde yoğun bakım ihtiyacı artmıştır ve bu süreçte laboratuvar parametreleri önem kazanmıştır. RT-PCR(+) 60 servis ve 26 yoğun bakım COVID-19 hastasının başvuru semptomlarını, eşlik eden hastalıklarını, yaş ortalamasını ve laboratuvar verilerini retrospektif olarak değerlendirip, hastaların klinik ve laboratuvar özelliklerini ortaya koymayı prognoz hakkında bize yardımcı olacak parametreleri belirlemeyi amaçladık.Yöntem: RT-PCR (+) COVID-19 hastalarının verileri hastane ve laboratuvar bilgi sistemlerinden geriye dönük olarak toplandı. Hastanemizde tedavi gören toplam 86 COVID-19 hastası, yatan hastalar ve yoğun bakım hastaları olarak gruplandırıldı. Hastaneye başvuru semptomları, komorbid hastalıkları ve laboratuvar verileri istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Çalışma popülasyonunun ortalama yaşları yoğun bakım ve servis hastalarında sırasıyla 64 ve 58 idi. Yoğun bakım hastalarının %73'ünde, servis hastalarının %51,6'sında komorbid hastalık saptandı. Her iki grupta da hipertansiyon (43%) ve diabetes mellitus (22%) en sık eşlik eden hastalıklardı. Yoğun bakım hastalarında nötrofil (6.11(1.18-19.7) ile 3.83(1.51-12.07) 109 /L, p=0.007, nötrofil/lenfosit oranı 5.74 (1.34-28.86) ile 2.11 (0.64-9.14), p<0.001, D-dimer 482 (52-2522) ile 249 (59-3561) µg/L, p=0.001, CRP 91.8 (0.49-331.7) ile 14 (0-161) mg/L, p< 0.001 ve prokalsitonin 0.19 (0-6.94) ile 0.04 (0-0.86) µg/L, p< 0.001 değerleri anlamlı olarak daha yüksek, lenfosit (1.12±0.54 ) ile ( 1.81±0.90) 109 /L, p<0.001 değerleri daha düşük olarak bulundu.Sonuç: COVID-19 virüsü insanları etkilemeye devam etmekte ve bazı hastalarda yoğun bakım ihtiyacı görülmektedir. Aim: Although solid tumors are known to metastasize to the bone marrow, it is rare to be diagnosed with
bone marrow involvement. In our study, we aimed to contribute to the literature by evaluating ...the treatment
results and follow-up processes of different solid tumors metastatic to bone marrow in denovo.
Material and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 28 patients who underwent bone marrow biopsy
with a prediagnosis of hematologic malignancy and were diagnosed with carcinoma metastasis.
Clinicopathologic features, antitumor treatments, treatment-related hematologic toxicities and factors
affecting survival were evaluated.
Results: Of the 28 patients included in the study, 14 (50.0%) were female and 14 (50.0%) were male.
The median age of the patients was 62 years (28-82). Eight patients (28.6%) were diagnosed with
breast (28.6%), six with gastric (21.4%), four with lung (14.3%), two each with colon and prostate ca
(7.1%), and the primary tumor site could not be determined in six patients (21.4%). Progression was
observed in four (40.0%) of the 10 patients with the first series of treatment, three (30.0%) patients had
stable response and three (30.0%) patients had partial response. The median progression-free survival
time was 130 days (3-494 days) in patients who received first line treatment. The median overall survival

Amaç: Solid tümörlerin kemik iliği metastazı yaptığı bilinmesine rağmen kemik iliği tutulumu ile tanı
almaları nadir görülmektedir. Çalışmamızda denovo kemik iliği metastatik farklı solid tümörlerin tedavi
sonuçları ve takip süreçlerini değerlendirerek literatüre katkı sağlamak amaçlanmıştır Gereç ve Yöntemler: Hematolojik malignite ön tanısı ile kemik iliği biyopsisi yapılan ve karsinom metastazı tanısı alan 28 hasta retrospektif
olarak incelendi. Hastaların klinikopatolojik özellikleri, aldıkları antitümör tedaviler, tedavi ilişkili hematolojik toksisiteleri ve sağkalımlarına

Bu çalışmada rekreaktif amaçlı kullanılan Sarısu Göleti’nin mevcut besin düzeyinin belirlenmesi amacı ile bazı su kalite parametreleri, klorofil a, fitoplankton kompozisyonu ve sayısı ile zooplankton ...bolluğu altı ay boyunca incelenmiştir. Su kalite parametrelerine göre gölün besin düzeyi mezoötrofik-ötrofik olarak belirlenmiştir. Söz konusu parametreler Türk Çevre Mevzuatı’na göre tartışılmıştır. Araştırma süresince Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Cryptophyceae, Cyanophyceae ve Dinophyceae sınıflarından toplam 31 fitoplankton türü teşhis edilmiştir. Fitoplankton sayısı 495000 hücre/l ile 12808000 hücre/l, klorofil a derişimi ise 1,12 ile 13,2 mg/m3 arasında değişmiştir. Gölette zooplankton kompozisyonu içinde Rotifera baskın olmuştur. Infective endocarditis (IE) is rare, but associated with significant morbidity and mortality rates. Estimates of the incidence of IE in Turkey are compromised by the absence of population-based ...prospective studies. Due to the frequent presence of predisposing cardiac conditions and higher rates of nosocomial bacteremia in highrisk groups, the incidence of IE is expected to be higher in Turkey. Additionally, while IE generally affects older people in developed countries, it still affects young people in Turkey. In order to reduce the mortality and morbidity, it is critical to diagnose the IE to determine the causative agent and to start treatment rapidly. However, most of the patients cannot be diagnosed in their first visits, about half of them can be diagnosed after three months, and the disease often goes unnoticed. In patients diagnosed with IE, the rate of identification of causative organisms is significantly lower in Turkey than in developed countries. Furthermore, most of the centers do not perform some essential microbiological diagnostic tests as a routine practice. Some antimicrobials that are recommended as the first-line of treatment for IE, particularly antistaphylococcal penicillins, are not available in Turkey. These problems necessitate reviewing the epidemiological, laboratory, and clinical characteristics of IE in our country, as well as the current information about its diagnosis, treatment, and prevention together with local data. Physicians can follow patients with IE in many specialties. Diagnosis and treatment processes of IE should be standardized at every stage so that management of IE, a setting in which many physicians are involved, can always be in line with current recommendations. Study Group for Infective Endocarditis and Other Cardiovascular Infections of the Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases has called for collaboration of the relevant specialist organizations to establish a consensus report on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of IE in the light of current information and local data in Turkey.
Post-operative radioiodine treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer occupies a well determined place in the treatment policy of this disease. Since little is known about erythrocytes oxidant and ...antioxidant status in patients with thyroid cancers after radioiodine treatment, we measured erythrocyte malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, as a marker of lipid peroxidation, erythrocyte reduced glutathione (GSH) levels and activities of GSH-Peroxidase and GSH-Reductase as antioxidants. We found that erythrocyte MDA levels were significantly higher, and erythrocyte GSH levels and activities of GSH-related enzymes were significantly lower in thyroidectomised patients after surgery than in healthy controls. Additionally, according to their thyroid hormone levels the patients had hypothyroidism at this time. In patients 2 days after radioiodine treatment both MDA and GSH levels and GSH-related enzyme activities were significantly increased when compared to their own initial levels. In conclusion, we suggested that radioiodine could facilitate or induce significant oxidant/antioxidant changes in erythrocytes—indirectly as a result of the internal radiotherapy with radioiodine.
Depresyon; bellek, bilişsel işlevler, duygu durum bozulmalarına eşlik eden, fiziksel ve davranış değişikliklerinin ortaya çıktığı ciddi bir hastalıktır. Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışma, hemşirelerde ...depresyon durumlarını ve ilişkili faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma Tunceli Devlet Hastanesi’nde görev yapan tüm hemşirelere uygulanmıştır. Anket formunda “Kişisel Tanıtıcı Form” ve “Beck Depresyon Ölçeği (BDÖ)” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel analizlerinde t testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 34.15±8.94 olup, %88.4’ü kadındır. Hemşirelerin BDÖ puan ortalaması 11.87±7.50 olup, %24.6’sında depresyon saptanmıştır. BDÖ puanları; yaş arttıkça, kronik hastalığı olanlarda, sosyoekonomik düzeyini kötü algılayanlarda, sigara, alkol kullananlarda daha yüksektir (p<0.05). BDÖ puanları cinsiyete, medeni duruma, eğitim durumuna göre değişmemektedir (p>0.05). Hemşirelerin yaklaşık dörtte birinde depresyon saptanmıştır. Hemşireler toplumda rol model olan insanlardır. Bu yüzden düzenli sağlık kontrollerinin yapılması, iş ortamı ile alakalı stresörlerin en aza indirilmesi için önlemler alınmalıdır.
Depression is a serious illness associated with memory, cognitive functions, mood disorders and physical and behavioral changes. This descriptive study was conducted to determine depression status and related factors in nurses. This research was applied to all nurses working at Tunceli State Hospital. The research data were collected using the Personal Identification Form, which were prepared by the researchers, and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). T test, one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis of the data. The mean age of the nurses in the study was 34.15±8.94 and 88.4% were female. The mean BDI score of the nurses was 11.87±7.50 and 24.6% had depression. BDI scores age was higher in nurses with chronic illness, perception of socioeconomic status as poor, and smoking and alcohol use (p<0.05). BDI scores did not change according to gender, marital status, education level (p>0.05). Depression were found in approximately one quarter of nurses. Nurses are role models in society. Therefore, measures should be taken to conduct regular health checks of nurses, and to minimize stressors related to the work environment.
