Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie różnych działań podejmowanych przez hotele biznesowe, które wpisują się w założenia turystyki zrównoważonej. Na podstawie analizy treści portali internetowych, ...materiałów promocyjnych oraz dokumentów związanych z rozwojem turystyki zrównoważonej autorzy zidentyfikowali najnowsze zjawiska i trendy w zakresie zrównoważonych ofert i usług przeznaczonych dla turystów biznesowych, wskazując szereg dobrych praktyk w tym zakresie. Dane będące podstawą analizy zebrano w kwietniu 2022 r. Dotyczą one następujących grup hoteli: Alila Hotels & Resorts, Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, Marriott International oraz Scandic Hotels. Badanie wykazało, że hotele te podejmują różnorodne zrównoważone działania oraz z powodzeniem angażują się w programy prośrodowiskowe, proekologiczne i prospołeczne. W ten sposób umacniają swoją markę oraz uzyskują przewagę konkurencyjną na rynku usług biznesowych. Opierając się na przykładach działań zrównoważonych stosowanych przez powyższe hotele, autorzy zaproponowali szereg pomysłów, które można by wdrożyć w hotelach biznesowych w Polsce.
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and is the most common cause of dementia. The pathogenesis of AD still remains unclear, including two main hypotheses: amyloid ...cascade and tau hyperphosphorylation. The hallmark neuropathological changes of AD are extracellular deposits of amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs). Endocytosis plays an important role in a number of cellular processes including communication with the extracellular environment, nutrient uptake, and signaling by the cell surface receptors. Based on the results of genetic and biochemical studies, there is a link between neuronal endosomal function and AD pathology. Taking this into account, we can state that in the results of previous research, endolysosomal abnormality is an important cause of neuronal lesions in the brain. Endocytosis is a central pathway involved in the regulation of the degradation of amyloidogenic components. The results of the studies suggest that a correlation between alteration in the endocytosis process and associated protein expression progresses AD. In this article, we discuss the current knowledge about endosomal abnormalities in AD.

The goal of this study was to investigate sentence-level reading circuits in deaf native signers, a unique group of deaf people who are immersed in a fully accessible linguistic environment from birth, and hearing readers. Task-based fMRI, functional connectivity and lateralization analyses were conducted. Both groups exhibited overlapping brain activity in the left-hemispheric perisylvian regions in response to a semantic sentence task. We found increased activity in left occipitotemporal and right frontal and temporal regions in deaf readers. Lateralization analyses did not confirm more rightward asymmetry in deaf individuals. Deaf readers exhibited weaker functional connectivity between inferior frontal and middle temporal gyri and enhanced coupling between temporal and insular cortex. In conclusion, despite the shared functional activity within the semantic reading network across both groups, our results suggest greater reliance on cognitive control processes for deaf readers, possibly resulting in greater effort required to perform the task in this group.
