Alternative education opportunities are needed outside of formal education institutions to train individuals, develop skills, and sustain lifelong learning. Adult Education Centres, which have a ...priority and predominant position among institutions that support lifelong learning in Türkiye, are among the leading institutions that help individuals’ personal, professional, and social development. For this reason, identifying and solving the challenges of Adult Education Centres instructors positively contributes to the quality and traceability of adult education. In this context, the study aims to determine the opinions of adult instructors in Adult Education Centres about their challenges and to develop suggestions based on the findings. For this purpose, to obtain in-depth information about the challenges of adult instructors in Adult Education Centres, the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study, and the study group was formed from thirty-six participants determined by maximum diversity sampling, one of the purpose sampling techniques. The research data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. According to the findings, the challenges of the instructors were in the themes of institutional challenges, professional challenges, and trainee challenges; trainers’ approaches to coping with problems were in the themes of the support-seeking approach, the planned approach, and the reactive approach; Adult Education Centres directors’ approaches to the challenges of trainers have gathered the themes of the supportive and insensitive approach. When the results of the study are evaluated collectively, the Adult Education Centres should create institutional solution strategies for the problems of the instructors; It is recommended that the trainers be employed permanently, that the unfavourable conditions they work in are corrected and that the psychological and social, technological, and physical support they need is provided.
Bireylerin yetiştirilmesi, beceri gelişimi ve yaşam boyu öğrenmenin sürdürülebilmesi için örgün eğitim kurumlarının dışında alternatif eğitim olanaklarına ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Türkiye'de yaşam boyu öğrenmeyi destekleyen kurumlar arasında öncelikli ve ağırlıklı bir konuma sahip olan Halk Eğitimi Merkezleri bireylerin kişisel, mesleki ve sosyal gelişimlerine yardımcı olan önemli kurumların başında gelmektedir. Bu nedenle de Halk Eğitimi Merkezi eğitimcilerinin sorunlarının belirlenmesi ve çözülmesi, yetişkin eğitiminin niteliğine ve izlenebilirliğine olumlu katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda araştırmanın amacı, Halk Eğitimi Merkezlerindeki yetişkin eğitimcilerin sorunlarına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek ve bulgulara dayalı olarak öneriler geliştirmektir. Halk Eğitimi Merkezlerindeki yetişkin eğitimcilerin sorunları hakkında derinlemesine bilgi edinebilmek için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenoloji deseni tercih edilmiş, çalışma gurubu da amaçlı örnekleme tekniklerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi ile belirlen otuz altı katılımcıdan oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre eğitimcilerin sorunları kurumsal sorunlar, mesleki sorunlar ve kursiyer sorunları temalarında; eğitimcilerin sorunlarla baş etme yaklaşımları destek alma yaklaşımı, planlı yaklaşım ve tepkisel yaklaşım temalarında; Halk Eğitimi Merkezi yöneticilerinin eğitimcilerin sorunlarına ilişkin yaklaşımları da destekleyici ve duyarsız yaklaşım temaları altında toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları toplu bir şekilde değerlendirildiğinde Halk Eğitimi Merkezlerinin eğitimcilerin sorunlarına yönelik kurumsal çözüm stratejileri oluşturması; eğitimcilerin kadrolu bir şekilde istihdam edilmesi, çalıştıkları olumsuz koşulların düzeltilmesi ve ihtiyaç duydukları psikolojik, sosyal, teknolojik ve fiziksel desteklerin sağlanması önerilmektedir.
This study aims to conduct validity and reliability analysis of Organizational Structure Scale-University version (OSS-U) that enables us to determine organizational structures of universities. The ...scale was developed based on the Axiomatic Theory by Hage, literature review and expert opinions. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 655 faculty members working at state universities in Turkey. Psychometric features of the scale were tested with three different models. The content validity of the suggested models was tested with Lawshe Analysis; the construct validity with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) while the reliability was tested with Cronbach alpha which is a measure of internal consistency. As a result of the analyses conducted, all of these three models were determined to be valid and reliable with the relevant sample. It was also revealed that OSS-U can be used as model 1 in which nine dimensions (number of occupational specialties, professional training, professional activities, participation in decisions, hierarchy of authority, standardization, professional latitude, difference in rewards and difference in status) describe one single concept (University Structure), or model 2 in which four subscales (Complexity Scale, Centralization Scale, Formalization Scale and Stratification Scale) are independent pieces of an umbrella term (University Structure) or model 3, as a combination of these two models (model 1 + model 2), where combined subscales that have dimensions in itself describe a hypernym (University).
Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından pandemi (küresel salgın) ilan edilmesinden sonra yaşanan değişimler, insan yaşamını durma noktasına getirirken yaşamın her alanında olduğu gibi eğitim ve öğretim ...sistemlerine yansımıştır. Pandemi sürecinde eğitim-öğretim yeniden tasarlanarak ev tabanlı, teknoloji destekli ve çevrimiçi bir etkinlik olarak yürütülmüştür. Eğitim sürecine ilişkin ortaya çıkan söylemler ve beklentiler, COVID-19 ile birlikte gelen eğitimi yeniden konumlandırma ve yeniden modelleme olasılıklarını öne çıkarmıştır. Dolayısıyla araştırmanın amacı okulun yeniden konumlandırılması açısından COVID-19 süreci ve sonrasında okul liderliğine ilişkin görüşleri anlamak ve öneriler sunmaktır. Okulun yeniden konumlandırılması bağlamında COVID-19 sürecinde ve sonrasında eğitim liderlerinin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde görev yapan 47 okul müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum örnekleme yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre pandemi sürecinde okulu konumlama deneyimleri “işlev odaklı, duygu odaklı ve insan kaynağı odaklı konumlamaları” tanımlamaktadır. Katılımcıların okul liderliğini konumlama deneyimleri “kapasite geliştirme odaklı, psiko-sosyal yeterlik odaklı ve eleştirel yönetim odaklı konumlamaları” içermektedir. Katılımcıların pandemi sonrası okul liderliğine ilişkin yeniden konumlandırma deneyimleri ise “öğrenen liderlik, dağıtımcı liderlik ve sosyal liderlik” ile ilişkilidir. Araştırma sonuçları toplu bir şekilde değerlendirildiğinde, okul yönetiminin ve eğitsel liderliğin gelişimi için okul yönetiminin meslekleşmesi ve yönetici seçimine yönelik bilimsel bulgulara dayalı politikaların geliştirilmesi önerilmektedir.
While the changes that occurred after the pandemic (global epidemic) was declared by the World Health Organization brought human life to a standstill, it was reflected in education and training systems in all areas of life. During the pandemic process, education and training were re-designed and carried out as a home-based, technology-assisted, and online activity. Emerging discourse and expectations regarding the education process have highlighted the possibilities of repositioning and remodeling the education that came with COVID-19. Therefore, the research aims to understand the views on school leadership during and post-COVID-19 process in the context of school repositioning. In the context of the school’s repositioning, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research methods were used to determine education leaders’ opinions during and after the COVID-19 process. The study group consists of 47 school principals working in primary, middle, and high schools. Participants were selected using the maximum sampling technique, one of the purposive sampling methods. According to the research findings, the experiences of positioning the school during the pandemic process define “function-oriented, emotion-oriented, and human resource-oriented positioning”. The participants’ experiences with school leadership positioning included “capacity development-oriented, psycho-social competence-oriented, and critical management-oriented positions”. The participants' experiences in post-pandemic related to school leadership repositioning associated with “learning leadership, distributed leadership, and social leadership”. When the results are evaluated collectively, it is recommended to develop policies based on scientific findings for the professionalization of school management and the selection of principals for the development of school management and educational leadership.
During the pandemic process, an education crisis emerged, and the purpose and existence of the school began to be questioned again. For this reason, in this paper, the opinions of school principals ...regarding the changes in the school process during the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed. The research was designed as the phenomenology design. The participants of the research consist of school principals. The data were collected by semi-structured interview technique. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that school principals had difficulties in the fields of strategic, instructional, and social leadership during the pandemic process. The important benefits of the pandemic process for the school were emphasized in the themes of school-related capacity building, social, and goal-oriented achievements. Administrative, social, and developmental priorities themes have emerged regarding the reduction of adaptation problems to the school process during and after the pandemic process.
This study aimed to examine the relationship between academic mobbing and meaningful work according to the views of academics. The research sample of the study consists of 489 academicians working at ...various state universities in Turkey. Research data were collected through e-mail using mobbing and meaningful work scales. The t-test was used for pairwise comparisons between variables. One-way ANOVA was preferred in triple or more comparisons. Pearson correlation test was used to reveal the relationship between academic mobbing and meaningful work. Also, regression analysis was used to determine whether academic mobbing predicts meaningful work. According to the results of the research, while the academics found their professions to be moderately-high-level meaningful, they stated that they perceived academic mobbing at a low level. It was observed that there were differences in the high motivation dimension of the meaningful work according to the gender variable and that there were differences between the views of male and female academicians in all dimensions of academic mobbing, except for the dimension of attacks on social relations. According to the gender variable, it was observed that there were differences between the opinions of female and male academics in the high motivation dimension of meaningful work and in all dimensions of academic mobbing except the dimension of attacks on social relations. According to the title variable, it was found that academicians with a high title in all dimensions, except for high motivation, found their works more meaningful. Still, the perception of academic mobbing did not differ according to the title. In addition, it was found that there is a significant and negative relationship between academic mobbing and meaningful work. What is more, academic mobbing was found to predict meaningful work. Based on these results, some suggestions have been made for practitioners and researchers conducting similar studies.
Bu araştırmada, akademisyenlerin görüşlerine göre akademik mobbing ile işin anlamlılığı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Türkiye’deki çeşitli devlet üniversitelerinde çalışan 489 akademisyen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri mobbing ölçeği ve işin anlamlılığı ölçeği kullanılarak e-posta yoluyla toplanmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki ikili karşılaştırmalarda t-testi, üçlü ve daha fazla karşılaştırmalarda tek yönlü varyans analizi, akademik mobbing ile işin anlamlılığı arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymada Pearson korelasyon testi ve akademik mobbingin işin anlamlılığını yordayıp yordamadığının tespiti için regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, akademisyenler işlerini orta-yüksek düzeyde anlamlı bulurlarken, akademik mobbingi düşük seviyede algıladıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre işin anlamlılığının yüksek motivasyon boyutunda, akademik mobbingin ise sosyal ilişkilere yönelik saldırılar boyutu hariç tüm boyutlarında kadın ve erkek akademisyenlerin görüşleri arasında farklılar olduğu görülmüştür. Akademisyenlerin yaşlarına göre işin kattığı anlam, işin anlamı (toplam) ve mesleki duruma yönelik saldırılar boyutlarında görece yaşlı akademisyenlerin işlerini daha anlamlı buldukları ve akademik mobbingi daha az hissettikleri belirlenmiştir. Unvan değişkenine göre işin anlamlılığının yüksek motivasyon hariç tüm boyutlarında unvanı yüksek olan akademisyenlerin işlerini daha anlamlı buldukları, buna karşın akademik mobbing algısının unvana göre farklılaşmadığı bulgulanmıştır. Ayrıca, akademik mobbing ile işin anlamlılığı arasında anlamlı ve negatif yönde bir ilişki ile akademik mobbingin işin anlamlılığını yordadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar referans alınarak hem uygulayıcılara hem de benzer çalışmalar yürütecek araştırmacılara yönelik bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

evrenini Türkiye’deki devlet üniversitelerinin eğitim fakültelerinde çalışan Dr. unvanına sahip öğretim
elemanları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada evrenin tamamına ulaşılması amaçlandığından örneklem alma
yoluna gidilmemiştir. Araştırma kapsamında 866 öğretim elemanına ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri,
“Örgütsel İklim Ölçeği-ÖİÖ” ve “Örgütsel Politika Algısı Ölçeği-POPS” kullanılarak web temelli anket yolu
ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde parametrik istatistikler kullanılmıştır. Alt boyutlar arasındaki ilişkileri
incelemek için korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Örgütsel iklimin örgütsel politika algısı üzerindeki etkisini
incelemek için regresyon analizi yapılmıştır.
