In this study, first of all, we express the points of a surface M in 3-dimensional Euclidean space E3 by the form of dual quaternions. Then by applying the rigid motion to all points of M, we obtain ...a screw surface Mψ. Here, by taking the rotation axis and translation vector in rigid motion as the same, screw motion in special case is used. Parametric expression, unit normal vector field, shape operator, Gaussian and mean curvatures of the screw surface Mψ are investigated by using differential geometric techniques. As a result, by applying rigid motion to the points of the surface M changes in differential geometric properties of M are investigated. As a special case, if the rotation angle is taken as zero then the screw surface Mψ becomes a parallel surface. In this case, all differential geometric properties obtained for screw surfaces are the same as the properties for the parallel surfaces.
Beyşehir Lake, Turkey's largest freshwater lake, is also a “Drinking Water Reserve”. In the study, heavy metal (As, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb, Cd, Hg, Fe, Al, Mn) concentrations of seasonal lake water and ...bottom sediment samples were determined to evaluate the heavy metal pollution. Several index methods were applied, and pollution assessments were made using the obtained analysis results of lake water and sediment samples. The average concentrations of the heavy metals in the lake waters are observed as Fe > Al > Mn > As>Zn > Ni > Pb > Cr > Cu > Hg > Cd. When the lake waters were compared with the TS 266 (2005) and WHO (2017) limit values, it was determined that lake waters are below the limit values in terms of the heavy metals. According to index results, all of the lake samples are suitable for use as drinking water in accordance with the heavy metal pollution index (HPI) value, all of the samples are in the “low pollution” class in accordance with the heavy metal evaluation index (HEI) and degree of contamination (Cd) values. In addition, the water average concentrations of the heavy metals in the lake sediments are observed as Fe > Al > Mn > Cr > Ni > Zn > Cu > As>Pb > Cd > Hg. The contamination factor (CF) and enrichment factor (EF) revealed that sediments were considerably and moderately polluted by As, Cr, Cu, Ni, Cd, Fe and Mn and low polluted and/or unpolluted by other metals. The calculated pollution load index (PLI) and Igeo values indicate that lake sediments do not carry a risk of heavy metal contamination.

We aimed to evaluate the effect of music therapy on intraoperative awareness, patient satisfaction, awakening pain and waking quality in patients undergoing elective septorhinoplasty under general anesthesia.
This randomized, controlled, prospective study was conducted with 120 patients undergoing septorhinoplasty within a 2 months period. The patients were randomly selected and divided into two groups: group music (music during surgery) and control group (without music during surgery). All patients underwent standard general anesthesia. Patients aged 18–70 years who would undergo a planned surgery under general anesthesia were included. Patients who had emergency surgery, hearing or cognitive impairment, were excluded from the study.
A total of 120 patients were enrolled, and separated into two groups. There were no statistically significant differences between the groups in terms of demographic characteristics, anesthesia and surgery durations (p>0.05). In the music group, sedation agitation scores were lower than those in the control group at the postoperative period (3.76±1.64 vs. 5.11±2.13; p<0.001). In addition; in patients of the music group, the pain level (2.73±1.28 vs. 3.61±1.40) was lower (p<0.001), requiring less analgesic drugs intake.
Music therapy, which is a nonpharmacologic intervention, is an effective method, without side effects, leading to positive effects in the awakening, hemodynamic parameters and analgesic requirements in the postoperative period. It is also effective in reducing the anxiety and intraoperative awareness episodes of surgical patients.

Avaliar o efeito da musicoterapia no despertar intraoperatório, na satisfação do paciente, na dor ao despertar e na qualidade de vigília em pacientes submetidos à rinosseptoplastia eletiva sob anestesia geral.
Estudo prospectivo, randomizado e controlado feito com 120 pacientes submetidos a rinosseptoplastia em 2 meses. Os pacientes foram selecionados aleatoriamente e divididos em dois grupos: musicoterapia (música durante a cirurgia) e controle (sem música durante a cirurgia). Todos os pacientes foram submetidos a anestesia geral padrão. Pacientes entre 18 e 70 anos que seriam submetidos a cirurgia planejada sob anestesia geral foram incluídos. Pacientes submetidos a cirurgia de emergência, apresentavam deficiência auditiva ou cognitiva foram excluídos do estudo.
Foram inclu¡dos no estudo 120 pacientes, divididos nos dois grupos. Não houve diferenças estatisticamente significantes entre os grupos em relação às características demográficas, anestesia e duração da cirurgia (p > 0,05). No grupo musicoterapia, os escores de agitação da sedação foram menores do que no grupo controle no período pós-operatório (3,76 ± 1,64 vs. 5,11 ± 2,13; p < 0,001). Além disso, nos pacientes do grupo musicoterapia, o nível de dor (2,73 ± 1,28 vs. 3,61 ± 1,40) foi menor (p < 0,001) e a necessidade de analgésicos foi menor no pós-operatório.
A musicoterapia, uma intervenção não farmacológica, é um método eficaz, sem efeitos colaterais, que leva a efeitos positivos no despertar, nos parâmetros hemodinâmicos e nas necessidades analgésicas no pós-operatório, além de reduzir a ansiedade por estresse, a dor e a chance de despertar durante a cirurgia.
In this article, general integral inequalities are obtained for functions whose absolute value of the second derivative is convex. These inequalities are more general versions of some results in the ...literature and we recaptured these results with the selection of special parameters. In the study, graphs are also used to compare the inequalities that occur with the change of the µ parameter.

We obtain blow-up of weak solutions in the ...finite time, by employing potential well technique and concave technique. In addition, the upper bound of blow-up time is considered. This improves and extends some previous studies.
Osmanlı Devleti’nde modern ormancılık eğitimi 1858 yılında başlamıştır. Orman Mektebi’nden mezun olanlar ağırlıklı olarak keşif ve üretim işlerinde görev almıştır. Orman mektebinin sınırlı sayıda ...mezun vermesi, orman idaresinin yerelde tam olarak teşkilatlanamaması ve koruma hizmetlerinin yetersiz kalması nedeniyle teknik ormancılık faaliyetleri sürekli ötelemiştir. Orman Mektebi’nin açılışından yaklaşık 50 yıl sonra Hoca Ali Rıza Efendi ormanlarda bakım, imar ve ağaçlandırma yapacak uygulayıcı (ameli) elaman yetiştirilmesini gündeme getirmiştir. Birinci Dünya Savaşı yıllarında Orman Müşaviri olarak görev yapan Veith bu fikri desteklemiştir. Böylece ilki 1915 yılında Hendek’te ikincisi 1917 yılında Islahiye’de Orman Ameliyat Mektebi açılmıştır. Ancak savaşın getirdiği zorluklar eğitim faaliyetlerini olumsuz etkilemiştir. Hendek Orman Ameliyat Mektebi önce Adapazarı’na sonra Beykoz’a taşınmıştır. Islahiye Orman Ameliyat Mektebi ise önce Adana’ya sonra Beykoz’a nakledilmiştir. Islahiye Orman Ameliyat Mektebine iki dönemde toplam 60 civarında talebe başvurduğu halde sadece 15 talebe mezun olmuştur. Ancak bu mekteplerden mezun olanların azlığı veya çokluğundan ziyade uygulamaya geçilmiş olması önemlidir. Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde orman tekniker okulları bu tecrübeyle kurulmuştur. Mühendis muavini ve orman teknikerleri Türkiye ormancılığına büyük katkı sağlamıştır.
Modern forestry education in the Ottoman Empire began in 1858. Graduates of the Forestry School mainly worked in exploration and production jobs. Technical forestry activities have been constantly postponed due to the limited number of graduates of the forestry school, the inability of the forest administration to fully organize locally, and the inadequacy of conservation services. About 50 years after the opening of the Forestry School, Hoca Ali Rıza Efendi brought up the issue of raising practitioner (ameli) personnel who will carry out maintenance, zoning, and afforestation in forests. Veith, who served as a Forestry Consultant during the First World War, supported this idea. Thus, the first one was opened in Hendek in 1915 and the second one was opened in Islahiye in 1917. However, the difficulties brought by the war negatively affected educational activities. Hendek Forest Surgery School was moved first to Adapazarı and then to Beykoz. Islahiye Forest Surgery School was transferred first to Adana and then to Beykoz. Although a total of about 60 students applied to Islahiye Forest Surgery School in two semesters, only 15 students graduated. However, it does not matter whether the number of graduates of these schools is more or less. The important thing is that it has been implemented. Forest technician schools were established with this experience in the Republican Period. Assistant engineers and forest technicians have made a great contribution to forestry in Turkey.
In this paper, we attempt to explore the effects of various uncertainty measures – namely, implied volatility (VIX), tail risk (SKEW), economic policy uncertainty (EPU) and partisan conflict (PCI) ...indices-, on U.S. REITs returns at sector level, using the non-linear Markov regime-switching model. Our empirical results reveal that uncertainty measures have regime-dependent impacts and do not affect the return dynamics of REIT sectors in a uniform way. Office and hotel & lodging REITs exhibit the strongest sensitivity to VIX and EPU, respectively, during bearish market periods. While residential REITs are the most resilient to uncertainties, healthcare REIT returns are negatively affected from all the uncertainty factors only in the low variance regime. Hence, our findings show evidence of asymmetric, non-linear and sector-dependent linkages between REITs and uncertainties. These results provide valuable insights and important implications for REIT investors.
We consider weakly interacting jump processes on time-varying random graphs with dynamically changing multi-color edges. The system consists of a large number of nodes in which the node dynamics ...depends on the joint empirical distribution of all the other nodes and the edges connected to it, while the edge dynamics depends only on the corresponding nodes it connects. Asymptotic results, including law of large numbers, propagation of chaos, and central limit theorems, are established. In contrast to the classic McKean–Vlasov limit, the limiting system exhibits a path-dependent feature in that the evolution of a given particle depends on its own conditional distribution given its past trajectory. We also analyze the asymptotic behavior of the system when the edge dynamics is accelerated. A law of large number and a propagation of chaos result is established, and the limiting system is given as independent McKean–Vlasov processes. Error between the two limiting systems, with and without acceleration in edge dynamics, is also analyzed.
