The spectral-fluorescent properties of substituted 2- and 4-(
N-arylimino)quinolines have been investigated in solvents of different polarity and proton donating ability, and in immobilized phases of ...PVC films and sol–gel matrix. The effect of the solvent on spectral characteristics has been estimated. It has been shown that, despite the possibility of quenching process linked with intramolecular motions with great amplitude of the non-fixed azomethine fragment, the low fluorescence quantum yield of the studied compounds in polar solvents and in immobilized phases is caused mainly by the quenching process which is not linked directly with significant changes in molecular geometry.
The complexation process of the studied
ortho-hydroxyphenols with Cu
2+ ion caused strong changes in their absorption spectra. Among the studied compounds, 4-chloro-2-(quinolin-2-yl-methylene)-amino-phenol has shown better selectivity and sensitivity towards Cu
2+. This compound could be suggested as a prospective reagent for spectroscopic determination of Cu
2+ trace amounts (<10
−4
M), e.g. for copper determination in Al-based alloys.
Synthesis, crystallographic characterization, spectroscopic and density functional modelling studies of the 2-isopropylbenzimidazolium tetrachloroplatinate monohydrate (C10H13N2)2.PtCl4.H2O have been ...reported. The molecular structure of the compound was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the compound, the Pt atoms reside at a center of inversion. The compound is comprised of 2-isopropylbenzimidazole (Hipb)+: (C10H13N2)+ and PtCl42- ions, respectively, linked by intermolecular hydrogen bonds N…Cl 3.249(4) from 3.660(7) Å, C…Cl range from 3.553(7) to 3.895(7) Å and O atom of a non-coordinating water molecule in the crystal structure N…O 2.728(8) Å, O…Cl range from 3.234(6) to 3.451(7) Å, C…O range from 3.350(7) to 3.545(1) Å for the investigated compound. The molecular structure obtained from X-ray single-crystal analysis of the investigated compound in the ground state has been compared using Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) with the functionals B3LYP and PBE1PBE using the LANL2DZ basis set. The experimental and calculated vibrational frequencies of the title compound have been compared. There exists a good correlation between experimental and theoretical data for the complex.

The amount of thermal IR radiation emitted by an object is associated with the temperature of the object, the surface area of the object and the spreading of light. IR-based technologies have been demonstrated as a method of evidence identification in forensic sciences in addition to many daily uses.
Skretanja s glavnih cesta do naselja postižu se prilaznim putevima. Zbog sigurnosti ovih skretanja, zakretni polumjeri trebaju biti veliki. Međutim, nije uvijek moguće napraviti ova skretanja kružnim ...lukovima velikog polumjera, budući da različiti čimbenici, kao što su topografija, položaj naselja, problemi koje je nemoguće prevladati te ekonomski uvjeti, ne dopuštaju izradu takve trase. Umjesto toga je, zbog prometa, poželjna linearna varijacija zakrivljenosti linije ili održavanje konstantne vrijednosti zakrivljenosti linije. Takva je klotoidna krivina jajeta. U mnogim se aplikacijama primjenjuje jednostruki ili dvostruki tip takvih klotoidnih zavoja. U ovom se radu proračun i projektiranje dvostruko kružnih zavoja detaljno objašnjavaju jednadžbama i slikama. Primjer projekta dvostruko kružnog zavoja primijenjen u skretanjima s glavne ceste u prometnim mrežama daje se zbog boljeg razumijevanja samog predmeta. U tabeli su prikazane glavne točke geometrije rotacije s koordinatama pomoćnih točaka. Nadamo se da će osnovna svrha ove analize, teorija i detaljni proračuni dvostruko kružnog zavoja i njihova primjena kojom se omogućuje sigurnija i udobnija vožnja, biti od koristi praktičarima.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) on serum constitutive proteins, cytokines, P-selectin, and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) in the ...thermally injured rats.
Sprague–Dawley rats (64 males) were given 30% total body surface area full thickness scald burn. They were randomly divided to receive either 2.5
mg/kg per day im rhGH or saline (control). Rats were sacrified on postburn days 1, 2, 5, and 7, and serum constitutive proteins, cytokines, P-selectin, and IGF-1 levels were measured.
Serum IGF-1 levels were increased on days 2, 5, or 7 after burn in rhGH-treated rats compared with controls (
P<0.001, <0.01 and <0.001, respectively). Serum transferrin and albumin levels were increased on days 7 after burn in rhGH-treated rats compared with controls (
P<0.05). The cytokines increased after thermal injury. The rhGH decreased serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α on postburn days 1 compared with controls (
P<0.001). Serum levels of interleukin-1 were decreased on days 1 and 2 after burn in rhGH treated rats compared with controls (
P<0.001, <0.01, respectively). Rats receiving rhGH showed significantly increased P-selectin levels at 5 and 7 postburn days compared with controls (
P<0.001).
Our data indicate that rhGH, given after thermal injury, increased albumin, transferrin, IGF-1, and P-selectin levels and decreased serum tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1 levels.
